Joliette looked through her pile of envelopes she went through them as carefully as possible having already poked holes in the corners of many of them by accident with her new claws.
She found the one she was looking for and slid it under the door of her friend.
Note Enclosed with Merry Christmas Emerwyn I couldn't think of anything else to give my friends so I holed up in the darkroom for a few hours pouring through my Photographic work and thought you might like this one... ~Joliette

When you wake up you see a box in your room. When you unwrap it you find two odd items. One appears to be reigns to a sleigh with bells all over them.
Secondly you find an Ipod in there. When you turn on the screen it appears to be displaying a picture as a background.
The picture is of Jerrick with another woman at a fancy dinner table.
The ipod is full of music fitted to the taste that Moreau best judged you had.

Emerwyn made it to her duplex and up the stairs without any problems. She didn't care enough to even realize she was still sick.
She stripped off all of her clothes, and curled up under the covers in her undewear. She stared blankly at the wall until sleep came to her.
It was Christmas Eve.

When Emerwyn woke up the next morning, she hardly felt any different. Except now, she'd almost completely forgotten about the previous day, especially her meeting with Julian.
She slipped out of bed, landing softly on the floor. A mild awareness of a chill caused her to put on her coat. It felt soft and clingy over her bare skin.
When Emerwyn became aware of more feelings, she saw a large box, festivally wrapped. A gift? She crawled over to it, wondering who it could have been from.
Emerwyn turned the jingling reigns over in her hands. Her current state of mind completely drained her of any means to comprehend the strange gift. The soft sound of the bells echoed in her ears, and, as they carried on, the sound began to grow loathsome to her. Holding the reigns still in one hand, she reached into the box to find another gift.
Emerwyn had never had any use for technology, especially not the new-fangled kind. So, all she got out of the I-Pod she now held (for now), was a guess at who it may have been from. Who else had the ability to aquire things from the outside world? She turned it on, just to check it out. It immediately fell from her hand, as she intook a sharp breath, that was lost in the sound of the belled reigns as they also met the floor. Slowly, Emerwyn reached down again. She looked at the image on the screen. Not that she needed to. It was burned into her skull forever. No tears fell from her eyes. There were none left. She was devoid - devoid of feeling, of caring, of hope. The only thing she retained was hatred. An empty, searing hatred. How could he torture her like this? This sick amusment of his; it was him who made her sick. She could see him laughing mirthlessly, almost tangible. She wanted to lash out at him, but she did not move. Her face remained blank, the I-Pod hanging limply in her hand, as she sat on the floor, a chill spreading over her bare skin. She did not tremble.

Island of Moreau Vice Captain
|
Posted: Mon Jan 02, 2006 8:24 pm
That night, at 3am on the dot, there is a LOUD sound of an explosion, originating from the sky above the Island. Looking out, or anyoune outside would look up to see a brief fireball in the sky. Following that, any power that is on begins to flicker, going through a few brownouts before finally shutting down altogether. If you happen to be awake at that point - you would notice all the lights around you, any electronic equipment that wasn't battery operated flicker and die. However, within a few seconds of the final powersurge and failure, you find yourself being pulled into a forced unconsciousness.
When you wake up, it is midafternoon the following day, though it would vary within a few hours depending on the individual. You are NOT in your duplex. You wake up to find yourself in the arms of another. When you look at the face you notice you are laying in Ian's arms, deep in the jungle.
All of the buildings on the island are in 'shutdown' mode. This means that everything is locked tight. If you attempt to force your way into any of the buildings, your own duplex and the Town Hall included, then you will find that from the outside at the very least, they are impenetrable. If any window was broken - it is now fixed. All of the lights are off - in every building. Even the electric fence surrounding the main laboratory is turned off - though still closed. Attempts to break into the main complex will be met with equal lack of luck as breaking into a duplex or the town hall.
The only items you have on you are the items that you would have been wearing when you were asleep/fell unconscious: including clothing and perhaps a few battery-powered electronics IF You would have been wearing them. That's it. Everything else is where you left it - if it was in your duplex, it still is and you can't get to it.
There is no sign of what happened to the staff. The labs are quiet from the outside.
Welcome to the Wild.

Emerwyn stayed up that night, listening to the music in her head. Anyone who would've looked on her may have thought she was brain-dead. The beautiful silence was all she needed tonight.
The sound of the explosion almost gave her a heart attack.
She ran over to the window and looked out at the skies. All she saw was the dying flames in the skies. Her eyes widened in fear.
The ominous feeling she had felt. Maybe it wasn't simply for Joliette's enemy, maybe it was the arrival of this frightening event. What could it have been?
She walked over to turn her light on - it flickered once, and a spark came from the outlet; then it died. A power outage... But how? That explosion... Something maybe even Moreau could not control...
"Ugh!" Suddenly, Emerwyn was pulled out of her musings by a sharp shock, spurring from the back of her neck. She collapsed, and lay there til the next morning...
