This could be a useful midrange technique and might work well with something like the Piercing Fang. She nodded to him and Shadow relaxed a little bit. Kirisame ended the technique and the whip of water disappeared revealing his hand again. "Okay, watch closely as I demonstrate it once more for you." replied Kirisame. dEx watched him very closely as he showed her the hand seals a couple of times. Then she nodded once she felt comfortable with it. He performed the seals once more as he focused his chakra. "Water Whip!" called out Kirisame as his hand turned into a water whip again .

dEx watched closely as he performed the technique again and then she nodded. "I'll try it now." she said. Shadow walked a little ways away from her and sat down to wait for her to finish the training. Then dEx began to prepare her chakra before performing the hand seals. Kirisame watched her closely. "Water Whip!" called out dEx. Her hand changed to water, but it didn't form a full whip like Kirisame had just done. dEx sighed as she studied to try to figure out what she had done wrong. As she stopped the technique she saw Kirisame perform the hands seals for the technique. She watched as his hand turned into the water whip again. Only, she barely saw this as she was thinking about the best way to correct the tehcnique.

Then before she knew what was happening he had hit her hard across the back and the side of her face with his water whip. A deep furrow appeared in her brow as she looked at him in disbelief. The surprise was worse than the pain at first, but soon the pain took over. Shadow jumped up to his feet and ran to dEx's side as he growled fiercly. "What in the world are you doing!?!?!" she exclaimed. "Don't waste my time with such pitiful attempts. If you can't do better than that I might just kill you so this won't be a total waste of my time. Again! This time you better do it the right way!" yelled Kirisame furiously. dEx brought her hand up to the side of her face. The pain on the side of her face was causing her eyes to water.

She fought hard to stop her eyes from watering so that he wouldn't think she was crying while she concentrated on her chakra. Then she glared at him as she began to perform the hand seals again. "Water Whip!" she called out in a much harsher tone. Kirisame watched her closely as dEx concentrated hard on the technique. Then her hand changed into a nicer water whip. She looked up at Kirisame. "How's this then?" she asked as she fought to hold back a smirk. Kirisame looked closely at the water whip that she was holding up. Then he nodded slightly. "Not too bad, but it could use some work." he reponded. dEx fought to hold back her anger at his response. He could acknowledge how well she did instead of belittling her. Then she felt a chill run up her spin as he began to smile at her.

"Why don't we give you a little bit of training using this technique. Use your whip to deflect mine." said Kirisame. dEx nodded somewhat reluctantly. Before she knew it he had lunged at her and his whip was coming down towards the front of her neck. She quickly moved her body and brough her water whip up to meet his. The two whips met and tangled around each other. The two pulled to untangle the whips and they jumped back from each other. Kirisame lunged at her again and aimed the whip at her legs. She quickly jumped up and threw her whip down into his back. He didn't intend for her to attack at that angle and her attack struck him hard and drove him into the ground. Kirisame stood up and stared at her.

"Okay, I guess you know how to use it well enough. Why don't you go down to the waterside to the south and find Shibuki. Just tell him that I sent you." said Kirisame. Shadow jumped up at dEx and congratulated her on showing Kirisame her strength. She petted Shadow as she nodded to Kirisame. dEx headed out of the large training facility with Shadow following behind her. Then she was back out in the cold rain. At least it was a bit refreshing since she was a bit tired from all of the training. She decided to work her way slowly over to meet her new master.

dEx and Shadow played around together in puddles and chased each other in the rain. Then she realized that it was starting to get late and that they were getting hungry. She hoped that the next trainer might help them get some dinner since she had been too busy to eat lunch today. Hopefully, this new trainer would be less abusive to them. They approached the waterside and saw a guy with long brown hair wearing grey pants and a blue shirt training. After he performed a set of hand seals a large tornado of water came up behind him. dEx and Shadow stood there looking at him in awe.

Then they continued to approach him and he looked at them with an annoyed look. "Who are you?" he asked in a sharp manner. "My name is dEx and Kirisame told me that you could train me." replied dEx. Shibuki looked at her with disgust. "Why is he wasting my time with something like this. I'm busy working on training for myself. Fine, go study this and come back when you figure it out." said Shibuki as he tossed her a scroll. dEx caught the scroll and nodded to him as she bowed. "Thank you Shibuki. I will work hard to learn this skill before I return here." she said.

He huffed at her as she and Shadow turned to find a place to work on the technique. They found a place a good ways away where they were still near the waterside. dEx and Shadow sat down and she prepared to unroll the scroll. Her stomach growled a bit and she frowned. She looked at Shadow who seemed to be hungry as well. "I don't think I can concentrate on training until we get something to eat. Let's catch some fish. Why don't you turn into me and I'll turn into a fishing rod?" asked dEx. Shadow barked happily to her as she performed a set of hand seals.

"Beast Man Clone!" she called out. Shadow changed into a copy of her. Then she prepared herself to use another technique and formed the hand seals. "Henge no jutsu!" called out dEx as she turned into a simple fishing rod. Shadow picked up the rod and took it to the water's edge. He dug up a worm from the moist ground at the water's edge and he put a stick through it and attacked it to the fishing line. He cast out the worm and waited. After a couple of minutes they caught a fish.

Shadow had to fight hard, but he finally managed to reel it in. Once he got the large fish up on land dEx transformed back. "This should fill us up for a while." said dEx as she looked at the fish. Shadow helped her gather some wood to make a fire. Then they set up the fish on a stick so that they could turn it over the fire. "While you're still in that form would you mind gathering up some berries?" asked dEx. Shadow nodded and headed off to gather up some berries to go along with the fish. About the time that dEx was taking the fish off of the fire Shadow returned with a pouch full of berries.

"Great! This will be a nice dinner for us." said dEx as she looked at what he brought back. Shadow turned back into a dog and dEx split up the fish and the berries for them. The two of them ate quickly and felt much better after they finished. Then dEx pulled the scroll back out and unrolled it. "Let's see. This technique is called Sword of Draining. You perform these hand seals and turn water into a solid sword. Okay, let try it." said dEx as she closed the scroll up. She stood up slowly while Shadow watched her. Then she put the scroll away in her pouch.

Then she concentrated on the seals that she had read in the scroll. She performed the hand seals carefully. "Sword of Draining!" she called out. She drew upon the nearby water, but her sword wasn't quite solid and the water fell through her fingers. Immediately, she prepared to try the technique again. After trying it for about a half hour she managed to form a strong water sword that she tested out by fighting against shadow clones. Then she felt ready to go back to Shibuki to show him what she learned. Shadow followed her as she worked her way back to where Shibuki was training. As she got close he looked at her with the annoyed look again.

"What are you doing back?" he asked since he didn't expect to see her back before the next day. dEx tossed the scroll back to Shibuki. He caught it and looked her over. "Okay, show me what you've got." he said with a smile. Shadow sat back to watch as dEx prepared prepared to show Shibuki the technique. dEx performed the hand seals very quickly and Shibuki raised an eyebrow. "Sword of Draining!" she called out. Shibuki's eyes grew wider as a perfect water sword appeared in her hands. He didn't expect her to be able to figure out the technique so quickly from the scroll.
