Caleidah Very nice. The art from the book looks to be fantastic. Also...Did I see that the attacker's only compulsory selection is 1 HQ? Kick a**. Attackers get 3 HQ's, 6 Troops, 6 Elites, 6 Fast Attack and 3 Heavy Support in total. Defenders get 3 HQ's, 8 Troops, 3 Elites, 3 Fast Attack and 6 Heavy Support.

That is some epic sorts of s**t. I'm gonna talk to my friends once this is out, see if we can get some sort of horrifying amalgamation of Cities of Death, Planetstrike, and Apocalypse to work.

planetstrike seems pretty interesting for those who dont like size of apocalypse but like epic amounts of hq , elites and heavy support...
I can field for example all my elites as attacker smile

Yes, my brother is really looking forward to fielding his Nobs in three squads alongside his Tankbusters, Kommandos, Burnas and Lootas. And he can field his Deff koptas seperately, making those gakking things hard to isolate and shoot down, especially when he's using a long of small biker mobs.
Thankfully I can field a bunch of Guard tanks now, NOT in squadrons, that should even things out a bit. This paired with bunkers and defence lines should give those filthy melon-fething skins something to think about.

Texinadawolf Couldn't you make the Shotguns Hell guns with some green stuff anyway? or use a Lasgun and say its a spiffy Hell gun Plastic Stormtroopers would be a blessing anyway. as will the plastic Valkyries for my DIY Guard Army I'm sorry to rain on your parade but you wont be getting plastic storm troopers for a little while. I know a lot of you are from America but i've been keeping up with the Imperial Guard releases and its not that long now (a week and 2 days from the time of posting this to be exact) and you wont be getting storm troopers in plastic yet but they will make them. Oh and just to let you know, Planetstrike is NOT a codex, its an expansion like Apocalypse and Cities of Death

I have read them, and nothing has been confirmed about plastic storm troopers. The only confirmed release for Planetstrike is Vulkan, Forge Father of the Salamanders. I can find out some more when i next get the chance but i assure you that plastic storm troopers are not being released with Planetstrike, they would be released with the new Imperial Guard codex if they were.

Releases are done in waves. Just look at the Ork codex. Planetstrike will be like Medusa V, all major races will get important releases, including the Imperial Guard, who will get plastin Storm Troopers and plastic Rough Riders. Other races confirmed to get new kits are Daemons, Marines and Orks. edit.

I think most stormtroopers will be enlisted by inqusisition, in IG they are a bit costly comparable to say veterans..
