Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Kamileunaire
Name: Cierzo
Nicknames: Cier
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Adult
Hatch Date: January 15
Type: Mist
Task: Hunter
Personality: When you first meet him, Cierzo generally seems like a strict, no-nonsense sort of fellow. While he isn't necessarily unfriendly, he won't act openly amiable to many other Sentinels, and can often get aggressive if he is pushed enough, especially if it's by a female. He takes his job as a hunter quite seriously, and doesn't seem to have many friends other than his Chirop and maybe a couple of the other Hunters in his group(who are unnameable as of yet). Cierzo is notably uneasy around most female sentinels, especially those that are exceedingly bold or pushy. He will not hesitate to get nasty if he is teased over his feather dye, especially from younger sentinels. He has a liking for small things, oddly enough, particularly familiars, and his own Chirop, Cricket.
History: Cierzo was raised in the cold regions north of the forest before moving down into Noctua. His parents, as far as he knows, are still alive and remain in the same territory he grew up in. The youngest in his family, Cierzo grew up competing with two siblings, both female. It never struck him as particularly fair, but luckily he had a good pair of parents, and they managed to keep three hungry mouths fed. He grew up happy and healthy, and quickly proved himself to be quite the hunter as his father taught him. Before Cierzo moved to Noctua he had been courting a female, though the episode ended in disaster for him and he refuses to recount the details to anyone. Obviously it is one of the reasons he has dyed his feathers so, besides wanting to give himself a more fierce appearance in red.
Territory: Cierzo has chosen for himself a large old pine tree in the south eastern region of Noctua. He inhabits a conveniently hollowed out part of the tree, near the top, and shares the nest with his single companion. He enjoys being near the lake and will take fish from time to time, if the weather is not too cold for such a task.

Part II – Companions

Name: Cricket
Species: Chirop
Age: Adult
Speech Ability: 3
Skill: Cricket acts not only as Cierzo's messenger, but his company as well. Being a hunter, Cierzo spends a good amount of time alone, and outside the forest boundaries. He took Cricket in at a relatively young age and treated him like he might his own offspring. As a result, Cricket is very well-behaved, especially around other sentinels. Despite Cierzo's rather strict upbringing, he doesn't have the best speech abilities, but that doesn't hinder him from aiding Cierzo in scouting out prey or relaying a massage to a warden.

Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Sukkubus
Name: Stonecast
Nicknames: Only those whispered behind upraised wings!
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Adult
Hatch Date: 11/02
Type: Shadow
Task: Hunter
Personality: From an outsider’s perspective, Stonecast appears to encompass everything a Hunter should be: strong, fierce, firm. She’s the type that you would expect one-worded answers from, quipped in a sharp, no nonsense tone that would have others bid their ‘yes ma’ams!’ and scurry off on their way. But that’s all appearance because if you were to peg her down for an actual conversation, you’d see that Stonecast is quite…

Well, to put it bluntly, Stonecast is socially retarded.

Communal gatherings are an absolute nightmare for her – for a Sentinel that spends more time in the air and around the slowly decaying carcasses of her prey, it’s only expected, right? At least, she seems to think so. She tries to socialize (sort of), but often tiptoes around conversations, stumbles regularly, and has been known to throw left field. No matter how she tries, she just can’t catch a break. First, her Waral companion, could offer less empathy even if he tried. The sight of a bumbling Sentinel who is supposed to exude something of a proud, arrogant air amuses him to no end.

So, in short, Stonecast is shy in response to circumstance. A gentle soul and not at all fond of confrontation or prying, she often keeps to herself believing that by doing this, she’ll save others the trouble of her odd company.
History: Born to a Hunter and Gatherer, Stonecast spent most of her life being handed from Minder to Minder; she was not raised by them, as both of her parents were too stubborn to admit they couldn’t care for their own clutch as well as continue their livelihood, but because of their bullheadedness she was handled by many different talons during the first fragments of her childhood.

She looked to her parents in reverence like an outsider looking in, wanted to emulate them in any way possible even if it meant doing a job she felt indifferent about. They were the perfect examples of Sentinels living in the bliss of their success; she wanted that. So when graduation came around, Stonecast followed in the footsteps of her father and went on to become a Hunter.

Stonecast is proud to represent her Sentinel brethren in this sense, but her job is just that: a job. Unfortunately, it is something that has become an integral part of her life and without it, she’d be up a creek without a paddle – so to say. She has come to live for her duty despite her personal passivity for it.
Territory: Stonecast cannot settle – she’s here and there and everywhere! It’s become a habit to find a different place to tuck in every night.

Companions: Yes.

Part II – Companions

Name: First
Species: Waral
Age: Adult
Speech Ability: 1
Intelligence: 4
Skill: Ah, First’s greatest skill? Being a general nuisance. Self-serving in the most extreme use of the word, First and Stonecast’s work relationship is strictly quid pro quo: he will not lift a little nail without being offered something in return. However, when he chooses to cooperate with his ward, First makes for an exceptional partner. He’s quick, sharp, and stubborn; giving up is not an option. He’s especially skilled at squeezing into tight places and flushing out prey.

Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Haren48
Name: Sanguine
Nicknames:
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Adult
Hatch Date: 14/01
Type: Deep Woods
Task: Hunter
Personality: Proud and fierce, he surveys the world from behind a steady dour expression. None the less, he is often deemed rough in both manner and speech, and plagued by a poor (often dark) sense of humor.

History: Descendant from a long and prominent line of daring Hunters (or so his bardic Hunter of a father had led him to believe), Sanguine was raised on the many thrilling (and horrific) tales of his ancestors. As such, his strong grounding in the supposed “grittier” bits of clan history and tradition have molded him into the near stoic he is today.

The many seasons since graduation have seen him grow to become a Hunter of brutal talent, if only modest ability.

In time, he would be mated to Honeysuckle. Some considered that the pairing was made more out of convenience then actual affection, but such notions would pass as the years went by. Though he was originally uninterested in the growth of a family, their three young children are now a ready source of pride and expectation to him... a far cry more then their first daughter, Sorrel.

Upon reaching adulthood, her efforts to serve under the eastern Warden, Limestone (a Sentinel with whom Sanguine's line have never seen eye-to-eye with), were seen as grave betrayal to Sanguine. They no longer speak to each another.

While the rest of their growing family keeps him and his mate quite busy, Sanguine always keeps a weathered eye out for new prospective territory... just in case something “more suitable” should appear.

Territory: The territory he shares with his mate is located in the south east Deep Woods. The territory is not very big, and the large tree that is their home is quite unremarkable. What makes it an attractive territory is the small stream and the abundance of berry bushes and berry trees.
Mate: Honeysuckle

Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Bombazine
Name: Minke
Nicknames: none
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Young adult
Hatch Date: 27/07/200?
Type: Mist
Task: Hunter
Personality: Minke is big. And belligerent. And not very good with social cues. She mainly intends to get where she wants in life by being brutally (or maybe brutishly) honest, mulishly hard-working, and pitbullishly tenacious. So far this has worked. For all her headstrong and dominant ways, though, Minke is more than willing to be a good friend to any Sentinel who find a way to handle her - usually by either matching or ignoring her pushiness and her grand ideas.
History: Minke grew up in the Cold Forest with a brimming dose of sibling competition, and left the nest big and burly and well-prepared for life. She chose an occupation that was both straightforward and interesting, and didn't necesarily put her into a position to deal with other Sentinels at any great length, but after several years, it no longer kept her always-churning mind fully occupied. So, with a couple of bare-bones goodbyes to her immediate family and no plan beyond heading south and intimidating any Sentinel whose territory she intruded upon, she up and left for the Deep Woods.
Territory: not yet established

Part I – The Sentinel

Player: MoonKitsune
Name: Sly (His actual name is RainbowChaser, though it’s no longer in use.)
Nicknames: Sly
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Adult
Hatch Date: 1/13
Type: Shadow
Task: Hunter
Personality: Sly has yet to be anyone’s cup of tea. Manipulative, chilling, stern and sharp to a spiked point, his name is well suited (and spoken with a sort of sneer and a cringe to the insides as its spat). Disliked by many and friends of few, Sly knows he’s not welcomed company - though enjoys pretending that he is. A talker, though many consider it an unfortunate twist of bad luck if he happens to slither his way into conversation (which he often does with ease), Sly happily discusses any topic and has something to say on both debatable sides. However, he has a keen skill in keeping his true opinions hidden, keeping aloof so as to have no incriminating evidence held against him; yet managing to suggest just enough to make his feelings on the topic known.
As much as he is disliked, if not hated, he is also someone to be wary of. Minders tend to summon their wards closer when Sly approaches and companion animals are hidden from view. Though there has been no proof, Sly is often nearby when companions wind up mysteriously going missing and has “lost” a companion animal of his own. When Sly is off his game (a rare event!), the lingering gaze he keeps on companions can be noticed.
Despite his failings, there is no argument that Sly is not effective in what he does. Training since he was young, he shows finesse in flight and elegance in attack, keeping practiced form. Despite a firmly planted idea of superiority, he will follow a superior’s orders and those higher in rank with little fuss, unless he feels they are in an unimportant position. Even Sly would not sabotage his own aspirations to climb up the ladder; reaching ever a bit closer to becoming an Elite, even if it means doing some grudge work. Or, better yet, conning someone else into doing it for him without getting caught.
History: Most people would assume that Sly’s parents would be just as rigid and unnerving as he is, but in this case the apple dropped as far from the tree as it possibly could. Child of the Bard, Willowstone, and the Artisan, Rosemary, Sly grew up in a very open minded and expressive environment. However, he showed no will to pursue any profession in the arts and turned his focus past the colors and dazzling sounds that surrounded his childhood to that of flying and avidly exploring the area around his home. Nothing seemed amiss aside from the occasional quips from the parents on how stubborn their child was to their friends and Rosemary’s customers. That is why it came as such a confusing surprise when Sly was given to the Minders to be tended to without any explanation. Rumors spread on the various reasons though none where confirmed. The Minders kept a wary eye as they became unnerved by Sly’s behavior, whispering into each other’s ears as they dissected his behavior from afar, wondering why perfectly capable parents would unload their fledgling so suddenly. Most came to the conclusion that something about Sly was just... not right. Despite the coaxing questions from the Minders, none were answered and Sly grew out of the age of supervision into that of maturity with the assumed name Sly, completely denouncing his old name.
With stubborn determination, it was only a straight shot of exercises and tasks as Sly emerged into the workings to become a Hunter.
Territory: Sly would not consider himself a hermit and likes to make himself readily available if and when opportunity arises. For this reason, he lives on the boundaries of Deep woods right against the Swift Open River. He lives in a maple tree that is actually two trees grown into one. One half is alive and where he rests, whilst the sister tree had been struck down ages ago by lighting, still charcoal in color as it’s body remains bent down and drops its branches into the river itself. Sly often stays on this dead tree to survey the area and to rest. His territory is average as he does not like company nearby and though he visits others often during his round, Sly does not enjoy visitors.

Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Kelsa Silvertongue
Name: Lotus
Nicknames: Some might try to shorten her name to "Lo," but Lotus despises that. Her minder used to call her Brighteyes, and she finds this nickname more agreeable.
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Around three years
Hatch Date: May 6th
Type: Aberrant (Shadow x Deep Woods)
Task: Hunter
Personality: Lotus is an Aberrant in personality as much as she is in appearance, and she's been sorely reminded of that fact ever since she was old enough to speak to other Sentinels. She has a rather dark sense of humor, and will laugh at the oddest -- and most inappropriate -- things. Tricking an elder into looking away while you take a big bite out of his dinner? Hilarious. A fledgling falling out of its tree and bouncing twice before wailing for its Minder? Comedic gold. Unfortunately, most Sentinels don't share her unique sense of humor... and couple that with the fact that she's an Aberrant, and, well... Lotus doesn't have a lot of friends.
Most of the time, Lotus views her funny-colored feathers as the ultimate bad joke, and is content to laugh about her lack of status as an Aberrant. But sometimes it does get to her, and she is bitter about her lack of potential mating partners. Secretly she wants to find another Aberrant male and settle down in a nice cozy tree built for two, Sentinel society be damned...
...but until then, Lotus loses herself in the joy of hunting, something she does often and well.
History: Lotus loves to tell the story of her beautiful, clever Deep Woods mother and her mysterious, strong Shadow father. They scoffed at the traditions and their love was so perfect and pure that they felt no shame in their union. She grew up happy and loved, their beautiful Aberrant daughter, and the only reason they aren't with her now is because they were both killed while defeating horrible Spectres that flew down from the sky and chopped trees in half with their beaks and flattened the forest with their wings....
Of course, any Sentinel with more braincells than a half-dead Mus knows that this story is a complete and total fabrication. And while that never stops Lotus from telling it, hearing it will certainly stop someone from asking any further nosy questions.
The truth is, Lotus didn't know her parents at all. Perhaps they were ashamed by the egg they had produced, or perhaps something really did happen to them. But either way, Lotus grew up with a kind Minder and a handful of sometimes not-so-kind fledglings. She experienced the usual childhood taunting that many Aberrants receive... but instead of becoming humiliated by it, she learned to turn the words back on their sender. She was born with a sharp temper, and childhood honed that sharpness into a weapon.
It was that firey temper that landed her a decent position in Sentinel society. The Watchers were quick to point out that she needed a way to channel her aggression, and for a little while she mentored as a hunter under a Wildtype named Swiftriver. But inevitably she needed to be on her own, and she set off to find her own territory... and hopefully a happier future.
Territory: Along the eastern border of the Forest, in a large, gnarled oak tree with briar bushes surrounding it. She chose the spot because it's popular ground for wild Mus. The closest thing to her in terms of other Sentinels is a Minder's tree, though even that is some distance away. Though Lotus would never say so outright, she enjoys acting as a protector to the fledglings who sometimes wander too far from their safe environment. It helps that the little ones always like to watch her dive down for a kill!
Mate: None
Companions: None yet. She's a hunter to the core and considers most companions to be very edible, though she has great respect for the more dangerous types... especially the Lani.

Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Felyn
Name: Wildwood
Nicknames: Willy (an unfortunate nickname given to him as a fledgling, which he can’t seem to shake off)
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Adult
Hatch Date: 07-29-0?
Type: Wild type
Task: Hunter
Personality: Wildwood tends to be rather awkward, mostly due to his size, and he's also a bit socially inept. Although he is generally nice, being around groups where he feels crowded can cause him to become panicky and a touch grumpy. His size makes him worry constantly about harming those around him through a blundering error, probably because of the accidents he inadvertently caused as a clumsy fledgling. When not faced with such a potential social disaster, he can be quite humorous and enjoyable, though his lack of social skills tends to cause him to be blunt. At times, this blunt nature may seem offensive to others, though it is not out of any attempt on his part to actually cause offence.

History: Family-raised in a proud Wildtype family with a strong heritage and well-traced family tree, Wildwood’s parents had great expectations of him. Like most sentinels with such a strong bloodline, Wildwood is very proud of his heritage. Surprisingly, he chose not to follow the path to the Elite. His family, like many others, assumed he’d be perfect for the task by virtue of his size, but Wildwood found, instead, that hunting gave him a sort of peace. Away from his constant awkwardness among others, his chosen task allowed him be free and alone to hunt as he wished. Though it might not have been as grand a task as his parents hoped he might one day aspire for, he excels in what he does and always strives to make them as proud as he can.

Although he is certainly formidable enough to live within the Deep Woods he has secured a decently sized territory on the outskirts, content to pursue peace and quiet away from the majority of society. The life he leads is fairly uneventful, though recently a forager female that owns a neighboring territory has agreed to ‘rent’ out her territory to him as hunting grounds in exchange for his services and protection over her crops from the prey animals looking for a little nibble.
Territory: He’s managed to secure a decently sized territory west of Deep Woods, maintained with the aid of his serpe.
Mate: n/a
Companions: Yes, one serpe companion. His luck with the more soft, cuddly and squishable variety was not so great.

Part II – Companions

Name: Chusi
Species: Serpe (Constrictor)
Age: Adult
Speech Ability: 1
Intelligence: 3
Skill: Chusi's greatest skills are primarily her ability to hunt and do so with great stealth, making her an ideal companion for Wildwood because of his chosen task. However, she is also quick and much more durable than many of the other species of companions, making her great company for the large, clumsy sentinel.

Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Tamiko_kitten
Name: Tama
Nicknames: Tam-Tam
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Young adult
Hatch Date: 28/11/2007
Type: Ghost
Task: Hunter
Personality: Bold as can be, Tama is not known for thinking things through all too carefully. Her fast action and good reflexes make her a good hunter, however the same thing cannot be said for her beak, which often jumps ahead of her brain when she speaks. Something that sometimes lands her in a bit of trouble, though luckily she has enough tact to hold her tongue when need be. A little bit of a tomboy, Tama is competitive and isn't fond of losing. She has a tendancy to be slightly sarcastic, but those who know her well know that she doesn't mean any harm by it.
History: Not too much is known about Tama's past, but like many other sentinels she was raised by minders, and turned out just as well as any for it.
Territory: Tama lives fairly central to the sentinels territory, though a little farther north than some. Not quite near the Cold region, but she likes the trees better. The tree she roosts in is a medium sized one, with tons of dense branches, just the way she, and her chirop like it.

Companions: Yes

Part I – The Sentinel

Player: xSilverKitsune
Name: Merlin
Nicknames: Merle or Merl (by close friends)
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Young Adult
Hatch Date: 29/2
Type: Wildtype
Task: Hunter
Personality: Though he might come off as arrogant at times, Merlin is actually quite an amiable character. As he would describe it, “Nothing wrong with pride in a Sentinel, is there? As long as it’s not excessive…” Of course, he’d puff up his chest as he talked, to make himself seem more impressive…
Merlin boasts a well-rounded sense of humor, and can usually be found chortling heartily at any joke a Sentinel has told, even if it is at his own expense. Of course, there’s not much to be said about the bad puns he makes up…he often fails to understand why nobody else is laughing at his jokes.
Young Sentinels enjoy Merlin’s loud and boastful stories. He can’t resist regaling them with tales of “this predator he bravely fought off”, or “that time he caught four huge fish simultaneously with his bare talons…” Interestingly, these tales grow more and more unbelievable each time they are told, often ending up with Merlin chasing away a pack of wolves single-handedly, rescuing “thy fair and beautiful maiden.”…
The pompous prat himself, describes his tendency to exaggerate as, “Merely polishing up the truth, m’dear. It makes for a better story, you see.” And in a way, this Hunter has seen and done many of the unbelievable things he recounts…just don’t expect everything coming out of his beak to be entirely true…
With a wide beaky grin, roguish wink, and smooth talking, Merlin is quite popular with lady Sentinels. Unfortunately, being somewhat of a player, he has never tried serious relationships. Though perhaps…if he’s lucky…he will eventually find that special someone.
History: Born to two Elites, Merlin was destined for greatness from the get-go. From the start, he had always been the strongest, the smartest, the swiftest, pushed on by his unrelenting parents who absolutely refused, point-blank, to allow him to be anything other than another Elite. And so they experienced quite a shock when, at the graduation ceremony, Merlin suddenly announced his desire to become a hunter. His parents gave their failure of an offspring an astonished look, then promptly disowned him…He never saw them again.
As a result, Merlin is torn between his life as a hunter, and the life his parents wanted him to have. And really, he isn’t even sure if he likes hunting, only that he is good at it. Merlin tried his best to forget what could have been, should have been…and only partially succeeded in deluding himself.
Even the happiest Sentinels could have a sad history behind them…
Territory: Merlin occupies a rather large estate in prime territory in the northern edge of the Deep Woods. Though many Sentinels covet his land, few would challenge this big and strong Sentinel for it. Merlin’s favorite perch is in the oldest and largest fir tree in the area, surrounded by other evergreens.
Mate: None, but as previously stated, he’s quite the lady-charmer…
Companions: None.

Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Lyran
Name: Bracken
Nicknames: Occasionally goes by "Brack"
Species: Sentinel of the Noctua
Age: Young Adult
Hatch Date: 26/05/200?
Type: Brindle
Task: Hunter
Personality: Bracken is generally laid-back and good natured. He would describe himself as "a hunter with the heart of a bard". Because of his keen eyesight and knack for fishing and hunting, he was fortunately convinced to be a hunter rather than a bard. He has no comedic timing to speak of, can't sing a note in tune, no sense of rhythm, and very low levels of Will. Despite this, he has a flair for the dramatic, and though he isn't a good storyteller in the slightest, he has a million to tell. Including his "one that got away". No, really. The fish was actually that big, he swears! Big as the Brigadier, maybe even bigger! Since he is a hunter, and is occasionally leaves the main areas of Noctua in his job, no one can prove most of the stories he tells are probable fabricated. Though more would most likely believe them if he didn't change them with each telling. For the most part, sensible Sentinels will adopt a "nod and pretend you're listening" approach when Bracken asks them if they want to hear a story about his latest hunting expidition, or have urgent and pressing business elsewhere. He fancies himself a bit of a ladies' Sentinel, and will frequently try to impress any female Sentinels in the vicinity. Usually unsuccessfully.
History: Bracken grew up with an aptitude for hunting, and interestingly fishing. Despite his love of bards, and interest in being one, the lucky Sentinels of Noctua were spared him becoming one when the adults around him convinced him to become a hunter.
Territory: His territory is average sized for a young male his age, and is on the river that runs near the edge of Noctua. He roosts in a particularly gnarled old tree with branches that hang out over said river.

Name: Fern
Species: Parus
Age: Adult

Part I – The Sentinel

Player: giftwrapped
Name: Hollyhock
Nicknames: Holly
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Young adult
Hatch Date: 29/02/2008
Type: Deep Woods
Task: Hunter
Personality: Once a quiet, discreet, somewhat hesitant fledgling with a compulsive swallowing problem, Hollyhock has certainly grown into himself. The quietness hasn’t gone away, but the hesitance is evaporated, replaced by a quiet confidence. All in all, Hollyhock is most emphatically the strong, silent type. He has, with much effort, finally overcome his compulsive swallowing behaviour.

Socially, Holly is still very young and a little bit perplexed about the concept of flirting or courting. But he makes friends easily, though he still prefers the company of Sentinels who are chatty or loud, because it means he doesn’t have to fill silences that might otherwise be awkward. He has no preference of gender or type when it comes to friendships. Growing up in an increasingly progressive society, Hollyhock has little qualms when it comes to contemplating cross-type romances, though he hasn’t really thought much about it.

He has a strong competitive streak, though he doesn’t necessarily go in for bragging, and loves to show off if he’s good at something. Like most young males, he likes feeling impressive and important. While he isn’t very easy to anger, when he does lose his temper, he’s quick to fight back, and he’s the sort who tends to hold grudges. But again, he’s not easy to anger in such a way, and tends to make friends more often than enemies. He’s generally too quiet to get into trouble.

History: Not much has happened to Holly yet, but the little, slightly awkward fledging has gotten bigger. Holly is all grown up, and his parents are still (presumably) somewhere in the forest and he might have siblings, but if he does, he doesn’t know it. They’re not really the type to check in on their offspring, whoever they are. He was raised by the Minders as a whole and was never attached to a particular one, so he knows most of them and is friendly with them all.

Eager to enter the combatant professions but unsure which one he wanted to engage in, he and agemate Osprey went to Breeze for their schooling, and she taught them well. While Holly watched Ossie grow into the dramatic Scout she knew she wanted to become, he tried out a little bit of everything and eventually settled on hunting. He knows where he wants to go now, and will do everything he can to become the greatest Hunter he can be.

Territory: Holly doesn’t have much of one right now. Currently he’s looking around and testing the waters, roosting in what shelter he can find that isn’t owned. He’s still a bit too young to really know what he’s doing yet.

Part II – Companions

Name: Dauntless
Species: Mus
Age: Adult
Speech Ability: 3
Intelligence: 5
Skill: Holly keeps both Dauntless and Venturous around for extra pairs of eyes, extra sets of claws, and companionship. Dauntless is (ironically enough) a dab hand at spotting things that Holly tells him to look for...including other animals.

Name: Venturous
Species: Mus
Age: Young adult
Speech Ability: 4
Intelligence: 5
Skill: Holly keeps both Dauntless and Venturous around for extra pairs of eyes, extra sets of claws, and companionship. Venturous is quite good at remembering things and parroting them back to Holly when asked. Holly uses him to keep track of where he finds things.

Nicknames: Thunder, Talon and Ol' Thunder (he hates being called that)
Species: Sentinel
Age: Adult
Hatch Date: 04/11/200?
Type: Ghost
Task: Hunter
Personality: ThunderTalon is a very quiet Sentinel, which can often give off a very creepy vibe to other members of the Clan, especially the younger members. However despite his tendancy to become mute at the most innapropriate of times, he is actually quite a big hearted, humble and loyal male that would gladly put his life on the line for the rest of the Sentinel Clan and maybe even a lucky female if he put his feelings before his job.
But every Sentinel has their threshold and if ever someone went over Thunder's...oh boy, they would soon know about it.
History: Since Thunder' doesn't talk that often, not a lot of younger Sentinel's know about his history. But those old enough will know the male as having quite a loving pair of parents, a normal happy life and had the makings of becoming a possible Elite and yet for some unknown reason the young Sentinel turned it all down.
His parents thought he was mad to do such a thing!
Turn down the opportunity to become an Elite!?
Other older members thought it was an insult for one so young to turn down an opportunity, but ThunderTalon said nothing more on the subject except the words. "I'm happy as I am."
Now older, the words have stuck and he is still a humble hunter, still quiet and seemingly still happy at his appointed post.
Territory: An old, nearly hollow conifer tree which he has made his home in the South between the border and the Deep Woods.

Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Excited Apathy
Name: Winterfern
Nicknames: Fern
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Adult
Hatch Date: 30/11/200?
Type: Deep Woods
Task: Hunter
Personality: While Fern is a friendly Sentinel, always willing to welcome visitors into her territory to trade goods or simply chat, she becomes rather awkward in large groups. That doesn't stop her from trying to be social, however! She's a bit of a romantic, insistent that any male that courts her must be the one that's just right for her before she settles down.
History: Minder-raised, Fern's lineage is a mystery to her save for the fact she's a Deep Woods. She was an apt enough student of the Teachers, and managed to grow from a hatchling to graduated adult without too much incident. She's just managed to get her territory firmly claimed, and has settled down to life in her chosen task.
Territory: A small patch of forest on the fringe of the Deep Woods, near the Swift Cold River. The supply of your usual small game is about average, and it's not too far of a flight should Fern wish to attempt catching a fish for trade or consumption. A large tree with a rotting hollow in place of one of its branches serves as her roost.

Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Bloody Anubis
Name: Garth
Nicknames: None
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Adult
Hatch Date: 13/03/200?
Type: Shadow
Task: Hunter
Personality: Garth puts up a very fierce composure, often coming off as wild and dangerous to those adults he meets along the way. The truth is he feels a bit threatened in the presence of others until he is assured otherwise, more fluff than anything else until he gets a proper feel for what he's dealing with. Usually his presence is enough to persuade a bothersome Sentinel to leave him alone. He's defensive because he's gullible, he's suspicious because he's charitable. There's a soft spot in this Sentinel, and he is afraid of it, believing it will ultimately lead to his downfall. It is not really in him to look on while another Sentinel struggles or does without, be it food or otherwise, and he ends up going out of his way to do for others when his will breaks. It's even more difficult when he is pleaded with. He loves younglings, however, often contributing his kills to the Minders for time to be near them. Although a little rough and awkward, he does enjoy good company. A friend of Garth's is usually a friend for life.
History: He was raised by his parents, who weren't really all that well to do when he was hatched. His father was a very successful Hunter, but his mother became sickly only a little while after laying her first clutch and had to convert from her original role as a Gatherer to Watcher while her mate supported them. Garth was the only surviving offspring, his other sibling never emerging from their egg. He was never really given the chance at a simple childhood, even though his mother doted upon him as well she could. His father was always very harsh and expectant of him, it wasn't even a question that Garth would grow up to be a provider, and spend the rest of his time as a youngling running errands for his mother. And he was glad to do it, though his wishes at the time may have wavered elsewhere as far as his role in the clan went. He showed prowess in hunting, a useful skill in his father's opinion, and so he was stuck with it for better or worse until he grew to somewhat enjoy it. Around others his age, he tried his best to please in hopes of winning friends, but only ended up getting passed over on the way and often times taken advantage of. His father told him to stop being vulnerable and weak, and his mother told him to be careful of who he showed his good intentions. After being disappointed on more than one occasion, Garth conceded to his parents' advice and secluded himself from actively reaching out to his peers altogether. He's since moved out of his old home, but one of his main obsessions continues to be looking after his mother when he can, out of loyalty, worry, and an unconscious dependence on her presence. She never really did get better, the disease making her body occasionally falter and fail. It is a secret he and his father guard fiercely.
Territory: He's set up a home in a dying oak near his parent's territory. He visits other areas to hunt, having chosen his current home for location, not so much the quality.

Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Mogami
Name: Snowpeak
Nicknames: Helios’s Spawn (amongst minders)
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Adult
Hatch Date: 21/06/08
Type: Mist
Task: Hunter

Personality: Snowpeak changed a lot during his fledglinghood. Sure, he is still very competitive and certainly not safe around companions. His defiant (but not quite as insolent as before) fiery gaze that seems to penetrate into the soul of most sentinels and his aversion to physical intimacy also haven’t changed. But he is more even-tempered, more subtle with his remarks and more prone to aversion as opposed to conflict now. He always seems to have just a little bit of blood on his talons and preening those stained feathers appears to have a rather soothing effect on the hunter.

He can be quite difficult and often gives the impression of being cold even if he doesn’t consider himself to be so (it’s just that are so many worthless and annoying sentinels out there…). Those who manage to understand the hunter’s character and somehow manage to get along with him, will find in the mist a loyal friend and a witty companion who is not embarrassed to show his pride at being a member of the great sentinel clan. He spends most nights in silent contemplation of his favorite hunting grounds (which he will fiercely defend) and he doesn’t like to be disturbed while he’s working (i.e., all the time). He measures a sentinel’s worth by how well they fend for themselves and the kind of companions they keep, favoring the combatant tasks.

He is very grateful to his former minder Typhoon’s for his guidance and lessons, anyone who has helped him improve his skills and Moonstride, the Elite who saved his life when he was a very young fledgling. Those kinds of favors are never forgotten by the young adult. While he is almost devoid of ambitions when it comes to learning a specialization or being promoted and following the path of the Elite (after all, he never did play well with others), he would like to make himself known enough to make his minder proud. He still strives to be the best when it comes to perfecting his physical abilities - and sometimes that involves the occasional challenge of a complete stranger - but most of the time he’d really just rather be left alone. Snowpeak has an unusual respect for predators and can be often found studying a wolf pack in the north with a blind focus that only a moving prey can snatch him from.

History: He was hatched in a northern enclave. His minders found him to be an abnormally quiet hatchling but his fiery eyes showed a cunning intelligence. He began to show an excessive interest for moving objects and creatures at a very early age as well a very marked competitive and sometimes even aggressive nature. It was decided that he would be sent to Typhoon (a more experienced minder) to give him a proper chance. He was a very competitive fledgling that could sometimes be seen as a bit of a bully. Excited by conflict and brawl, he always showed the utmost respect (tempered with a bit of jealously) to those gifted in art of flying and hunting. Eager to perfect himself and to outdo those around him, he preferred the company of older fledglings.

He had (and still has) a very high drive that makes him forget everything about his surroundings in order to chase a flying leaf, a petal… or even a bushy tail. After he almost killed his minder’s mus, he really started working hard to control his instincts while trying to improve on his skills at the same time. He seemed to enjoy the sight of blood and that has certainly not changed. He carries a visible fledglinghood memento in the form of two thin scars he got them from a fledgling fight he started and the incident taught him never to take things too far… and to always protect the eyes.

Territory: Several small spots of land in the Cold area and Mountains. He likes to blend with the snow. He is fierce when protecting his territory mainly because he doesn’t think anyone can do a better job with it.
Mate: No.
Companions: No. NO.
