i personally believe in the big bang theory that the universe is ever expanding and once the universe was as small as the tiniest atom and something triggered this what you might ask is god now how god was made nobody quite knows maybe he was always there or maybe he was made something like how the universe was made but that will be a mystery until the day that we die

It is undeterminable. The only thing that is completely wrong is the bible. The Old Testament was okay, then they reformed it, contradicting "God's" teachings. Though, if they were really God's, why was the Bible man made? And who is this God being anyway? I believe it was made to make people feel like their life had purpose (religions in general, I mean). However, there may very well be a God, but who can say. No one has come from death, so there is no way of knowing. It is a nice thought, but nothing I would waste my life on. But oh well. Everyone (should, at least) has/have the right to freedom of religion and personal beleifs.

I believe God is real, not because people SAY he's real, or even because the Bible says he's real. But because I've had things happen to me that just can't be explained away to "coincidence." To me, coincidence looses it's meaning when so many things "just add up" at the right time and place.
I also believe the Bible is true. It may be written by men, but it is INSPIRED by God. Here's one of the reasons why, (note, this is quoting from a song):
"The bible was inscribed over a period of 2000 years, in times of war and in days of peace, by kings, physicians, tax collectors, farmers, fishermen, singers and shepherds. The marvel is that a library so perfectly cohesive could have been produced by such a diverse crowd, over a period of time which staggers the imagination. Jesus is it's grand subject, our good is designed, and the Glory of God is its end."
Also, If you've actually done some research on the subject, the New Testament is not a "reform" of the Old Testament. It is actually the fulfillment of the Old Testament.
Christians believe that the beginning of time started when God spoke into the void and created the heavens and the earth (so in a way, you could say, Christians believe in the "Big Bang" theory, lol).
God created people and gave them the idyllic garden to make their home. They had free reign over the place, BUT, there WAS one condition, "don't eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil". Which of course, they did.
Which is THE reason we have the Bible... because of this ONE event, God had to come up with a plan to undo this mistake -- because by disobeying God's wishes, evil, and death, was introduced into the world and God, being only good, can't abide evil.
The plan he came up with was to bridge the gap between humans and himself by supplying a substitute. This "bridge" is what Jesus accomplished by offering himself, to die instead of us. However, being God, he didn't stay dead, but came back to life.
So the entire Bible is about one wrong move which created serious consequences, had to be rectified by God through Jesus, and on the other end, we're supposed to learn how to say thank you, and reclaim that relationship which was lost by the initial rebellion.
Maybe that sounds simplistic and "fairy-tale-ish" to you, but I like the quote from one of my favourite TV shows, Firefly, when Shepherd Book talks to River after she rips his Bible because it doesn't make sense: "It's not about making sense. It's about believing in something, and letting that belief be real enough to change your life. It's about faith. You don't fix faith, River. It fixes you."

Aside from the belief system I follow, I believe there is SOMETHING...it's not physical, HOWEVER...consider, how is it that you can breathe, think, and feel? Why is it that some people stop and think about what their actions? There may not even be just one "energy". So, to be corrected in the eyes of this debate...no, I guess I don't believe in "God". Furthermore, I stopped believing in the idea that there is this being that is watching your actions and if you do something "bad" you will go to hell...no, I believe that if you screw up, there are concesquences for your actions as is demonstrated in the Golden Rule...what goes around, comes around.

They say the only way to find out what happens after death is to die. There are a lot of opinions of what happens after this life. Nothing, reincarnation, ressurection.
How boring would life be if there were no disasters? Everything would be fine and dandy. There would be less jobs (no reason to research earth activity for earthquakes, water for tsunamies and huricanes.) And during the grieving period after the disaster is the best time to offer service and be loving neighbors. And if god came down and stopped a disaster then you'ld really be forced to believe there is a god or suffer his wrath.
There are many things that you can't see, but believe exist. Just because we don't believe in it doesn't mean it's not there. Photosynthesis, splitting the atom, erosion, your heart's existence.

I don't know how to anser this really. Other than the fact everyone needs to respect the OP's wishes and bashing is not encouraged. Agnostic, athiest or not, it's not right to bash someone because they believed the Lord existed.
My bloodline in entirety is of LDS (Mormon) faith. My family were the first Mormons in Las Vegas, and whether i choose to accept it, it will always be part of my life one way or another.
My mother was born into the religion, and pulled out because she had my eldest sister at 16. that sister, married into the religion, and was sealed to her husband for Eternity through marriage in the Temple.
I only have one life to live. and while I've gone several years saying that "I have no proof God exists", I can't help but feel a everlasting calmness wash over me when I learn more and more about my ancestry's religion. I can look at the LDS temples, and feel 'calm' and 'complete'. My great-grandfather did work in the Temple until he was 97 years old, and went to Tenneesee on a Mission when he retired. I want to do what he did. I want to follow my family's footsteps and make myself into something better than I've got now.
However, considering my past, I may not be able to do go back and study the ways of Mormon, I may not because what I stand up for, they stand against. I fear that what I want to do with my life may not occur because of the conflict I have with my own heart.
I just don't know until I get a sign from Him saying I should do this.

I say the thing is a belief just to reassure people and give them closure. I mean, there's no proof to back it up, and a lot of the researched science can back up a theory that a god couldn't and didn't exist. Bibles lie.

I belive in god with all my heart, soul and mind. Not just because of my religion, or because the bible says he's real, but because I have had an encounter that had changed my life. call me a liar or stupid all you want, but I know the truth about what happened that day. I am also not trying to get people to become christian, I have no problem with it if you dont beleive in the lord.
Last year, I to questioned god's existance. At lunch in school, I was bored so I challenged one of my friends to a race. so we started running. eventualy, we came to a sharp turn by this big rock in the middle of campus called 'The Rock of Disicion' (why I dont know, no do I care, it just is...) by the grass area that was surrounded by ropes because we werent allowed to step in the grass. well, I didnt want to seem like a jerk and bump into him, and I didnt want to lose by slowing down, and I was going as fast as I could go, so I decided to try to jump over the rope. my foot got caught and I remeber falling before everything went black. I then heard a voice...I just cant explain how it sounded...that said the folowing words: " It is not your time yet Ashley..." I was then surrounded by what seemed to be a bright white light, and I finaly opend my eyes. I was now in a helicopter landing on the hospital roof. the docters told me that I was out for quite a wile, and that I had a major concussion that could have killed me if I was out much longer. That is why I beleive in god.
((and if your going to quote this post telling me how wrong I am and all this science crap, you cant change my mind. ok?))
