Raithill squished up next to his mother, clinging to her hand as the crowd rushed around them. He followed his mother obediently through the bustling streets. He glanced around at all the strange people and buildings.

Durithill lay in bed crying for while before the door opened and Thillian hesitantly stuck her head in. She silently walked over to his bed and sat next to him. She began gently stroking his head, staying quiet to let him cry. "He lied..." Durithill said between sobs after a few minutes. "He promised... He lied..." he said. Thillian picked him up and hugged him just letting him cry.

Moving her way amongst the crowds, Raine eventually made it to Rathios' doorstep. Ascending the short staircase, Shiero held her son's hand firmly as the duo parted from the crowd. She seemed sort of hesitant at first, but within moments, her hand curled into a tight fist and rapped against the door.

A moment passed before the door opened. "Ah, Lady Raine. You sure have been appearing more frequently lately. Please, come in." Rathios said, stepping aside to let Raine and Raithill in. "I'm afraid I'm entertaining guests at the moment, however, so I'm afraid you need to be brief." Five older looking men sat in the armchairs of Rathios' living room, discussing a piece of art amonst themselves. "Art dealers. Here to discuss the possible purchase of one of my pieces." Rathios explained.

Darkness followed the memory, sadness and anger replaced with nothing. Suddenly Raine became aware of a dull pain over her entire body. Durithill slowly opened his eyes. His vision was blurry, and his mouth felt dry. As his vision cleared he noticed trees. Trees and leaves. Trees, leaves, and a pool of blood. He became aware that he was lying in a pool of his own blood, long dried. From the strange sensations over his skin, he imagined he was covered in blood. No emption filled him. Just physical pain, and a sort of empty feeling.

Give me strength to face the truth, the doubt within my soul...
"My intentions were only to be breif, Sir Rathios." The female replied lightly, however, there didn't seem to be any sound of amusement or the usual softness in her voice. No, it was rather dull.

The female's eyes drifted towards the men in his living room whom seemed to be admiring a painting, no doubt worth fortunes. Refocusing, the female patted her hand against her hip until she found the item she was looking for. With a mental nod to herself, she withdrew the symbol in which sat loosely in her palm.

"I really do not wish not to pry a gap between us, Sir. I see you as a dear friend," she began, her voice becoming dry as the last six words were spoken,

"--but I really don't like liars."

"'Sir' Rathios?" Rathios laughed. "I never expected you of all people to call me 'sir'." He glanced at the symbol in Raine's hand, hiding his intense surprise perfectly. "'Liar'?" he asked with a laugh, walking to one of the tables to retreive a drink that was apparently his. He quickly apologized to the art dealers who, upon closer inspection, all were wearing katanas in black sheaths. Rathios walked back over to Raine, being careful to avoid the cluttered mess on the floor. "Such an ugly shade you paint me, Lady Raine. How have I lied to you?"

"Wake up, you baby." the voice of Durithill's demon side echoed in his head.
"No." Durithill answered. He didn't want to wake up ever again. He just wanted to go back to sleep and never wake up. Memories flood his head. A memory of ten years ago, when his father never came back. When he deserted him and his mother: left them to die. And his mother... Only a little while ago she'd been killed. And he was the reason. It was all his fault. She died, simply because he existed.
"You've been out for three days." Durithill's demon corrected.
"I don't care...." Durithill commented. He just wanted to lay there until he died.
"You know... Those elves might find us still alive if you don't move." Elves.... A sudden, inexplicable, blinding bolt of fury comsumed Durithill's being. Those damn elves! It was all their fault! His father's disapearance! And his mother's death! He felt himself rising to his feet, though his body was heavier then he remembered it and it didn't seem to obey him, so consumed was he with anger. Suddenly weapons began falling around him, having apparently been stuck into his body. He picked up the largest weapon he could, his clawed right hand curling around the handle. He'd kill every last one of those damn elves. Every last one.

Give me strength to face the truth, the doubt within my soul...
A light smile painted the female's lips at his first comment, but it vanished quickly. She became quite serious again. Now that she came to think about it actually, she might have had cold hard evidence, but it's not like she had a witness or anything...
This was becoming quote the trial session.

"Maybe that came off a little harsh..." She replied, her voice still entirelly dry, she was quite angry, but she tended to hide her anger behind a neutral mask.

"You were looking for this, were you not? Do correct me if I'm wrong..." If she was wrong... Which she wasn't. What would a random man lie to her for? Rather... Even know Rathios' description to lie to her about? Kind of odd, really.

"Yes, I was looking for it." Rathios said simply, taking a sip of his drink. "Is that a crime? Am I not supposed to be helping you find them now?" His eyes glinted as he stared directly at Raine, grinning slightly. It was impossible to tell what he was thinking. "Do correct me if I'm wrong," Rathios said, turning her phrase against her, "but you asked for my assisstance."

He spread his wings and lept into the air, flying towards the platforms in the trees that made up the city where he'd grown up. He roared as he burst through the foliage and landed on one of the platforms. The elves screamed in terror as he charged a woman and slit her stomach open with the sword he'd retrieved from his own body. Her face was the face of one of the mother's of the elves he'd once called 'friends'. But that didn't matter. She deserved to die. They all did. He spun and sliced a man's head off as he tried to subdue the demon, then Durithill ran towards the couthouse. Everyone he passed, man, woman, or child, died by his weapon as he charged towards his destiation. He didn't care who he killed anymore: as long as the elves died.

Give me strength to face the truth, the doubt within my soul...
Raine froze, finding herself suddenly dumbfounded and completely foolish for accusing the male of a crime he hadn't committed. Downcasting her eyes from his blind stare, the female pondered inwardly. But...

"You did tell me that you didn't know the locations of the items, did you not?" She threw back at him quickly. He did say that when she began her quest after all... She wasn't certain when Rathios visited the Realm of Air, but wouldn't that still be considered lying? The only help she would want from him was to know the locations of the artifacts, not for him to go out and get them himself... That's the way most things were when they both worked on Council together...

Her brow rose in question as she rose her eyes. Her gaze seemed to soften a bit, her cheeks flustered a bit in embarassment.

"Exact location." Rathios corrected. "Rakinos is a drifter, and it is as likely that he is in the Marinok district as he is in the republic of Karnas. It was a stroke of pure luck that I found him once, and the odds that he stayed there after meeting me were near zero. Thus, I didn't know his location." Rathios explained calmly.
"Mr. Rathios!" called one of the art dealers, causing Rathios to look back. The man was standing in front of a painting hanging on the wall. "Would you be willing to part with this piece?" he asked, pointing at it.
"We shall discuss it in a minute." Rathios replied before turning back to Raine."

Left, right, behind him, ahead of him, elf corpses littered the trees. But it wasn't enough he needed more. Needed to feel the flow of blood on his hands and smell the stench of death. And above all, there was one more elf he needed to kill. He slammed into the doors to the courthouse, causing them to fling open. With a few quick strokes, he dispatched the guards waiting there. He sniffed the air and turned, heading towards the king's stench. Not long now.

Give me strength to face the truth, the doubt within my soul...
"The Realm and description of the individual would have worked perfectly fine." Raine replied, her face was still stained a dark shade of red in embarassment from her accusation. How could she have thought so lowly of Rathios, a man she worked with for numerous years over an extended period of time... But still, something seemed out of place.

A light sigh escaped the females lips as she waved her hand dismissively infront of her before casting her hand down upon her face to prevent any more embarassment for herself. She felt confused and her mind and soul felt entirelly scrambled. Was it just confusion and fatigue? Or was it the artifacts? Wither way, she felt horrible... And he had guests to entertain. Speaking of which, that in itself was odd.

"Ah, at any rate. You have my sincere apologies. I understand you have guests to attend to. I'm sorry for inturrupting." Raine said aloud, removing her hand from her face to expose her pale face which no longer showed any embarassment. Glancing down to her son as if to tell him they were heading out, a subtle hint for him to bid Rathios adieu, Shiero paused and shifted her eyes up at her former co-worker.

"Oh and, but one simple question. Do you have any idea of what is amiss outside?"

"No, no, it's not problem." Rathios said in response to Raine's first comment. He smiled kindly at her and lowered his hand, his right falling almost naturally to the katana at his hip.
"Bye, bye, Mr. Rathios!" Rathios said, waving at the angel.
"Goodbye!" Rathios said with a bit of a laugh, bending down so they were closer to eye level. "And be nice to your mother. That's your question?" Rathios said, straightening up. "I thought you came here to ask about the items again? As for what's going on outside, I haven't the slightest idea." he said with a shrug.

100,000 years of slaughter passed before Raine's eyes. Towns burning, people screaming, children crying, and still he never rested. He killed and killed and killed without mercy or rest. And when he got tired, he just slaughtered easier targets. Blood continuously drenched his body, the smell of it and burnt flesh clinging to him whenever he went. People fainted at the mere mention of his name. He was the grim reaper, materialized on this blade. And still he was never satisfied, still he could never kill enough.

Give me strength to face te truth, the doubt within my soul...
Raine smiled lightly as her son bid Rathios a farewell. Reaching down to take her son's hand, she looked towards the blind man, the vague smile increasing slightly.

"Ah, we're sort of playing it by ear. Choose a realm and enter. But since you mentioned it, have you heard of anything or know any new locations of any sort?" She asked, trying to make the conversation quick. He did have guests, after all. She, however, felt lighter.. How could she have doubted Rathios?

"Ah, it just seems busier then usual outside. You would know better then I would. No matter." Her brows however, shifted into a concerned, almost a disturbed expression. It was a mystery to her as to why Durithill hadn't, well, told her details of his past... Yes, she understood it scarred him greatly, but she never really understood until recently why he despised his father so...

"As a matter of fact, I have." Rathios said, frowing slightly. "I've heard of a man in the Realm of Dark that would interest you." he said, scratching his chin slightly. "It seems he tends to spend his time in a forest near the town of Rathyl, but whenever he appears in town he wears a black cloak with intricate golden trimming. It's possible he wears Durithill's old cloak, but of course it's impossible to verify without actually taking it."

Durithill walked through the apparently empty town, his massive weapons resting on his black shoulders. He knew better then to think there was no one here though. The place reeked of elves. "Reveal yourselves, you cowards!" he roared, shaking the ground. He walked slowly forward, looking in every direction, untill he was in an intersection of two streets. All of a sudden white strands of light shot out of the ground and wrapped around him, dragging him to the ground. Damn! I walked into a trap! He roared and fought against the angelic robes binding him. Several elves and a single angel appread out of the building and surounded him. Why hadn't he smelt the angel! The angel raised a spear which glowed with holy light. "Today you die, demon." he said simply. "Your reign of terror is forever finished." The angel suddenly trust forward and stabbed the chest through his heart. Pain like he'd never know shot through his body, causing him to roar and thrash so violently against his bonds that they cut into his flesh. The angel suddenly laughed, a demonic grin twisting his face. He suddenly realized why he hadn't smelled the angel before. It was because it was no angel.
"I'll kill you... I swear I will..." Durithill spat out, blood begining to pool in his mouth. The "angel" leaned in and violently tore the spear from Durithill's chest.
"We'll see." Durimiros' voice whispered in his ear before Durithill's vision failed and he died for the first time.

Give me strength to face the truth, the doubt within my soul...
Raine rose a thin brow at his frown. Her eyes shifted towards the men in the main living area then back to Rathios. It's not that she wanted to leave him so abruptly, she just didn't want to disappoint his company. Rathios would probably seeing a lot more of Shiero.

"Realm of Dark? Hmmm.." She mumbled lowly, her eyes shifting from her former co-worker, her azure hues rested on the ground thoughtfully. Her mind drifted from the thoughts of achieving another item so quickly and an unknown feeling began to well up inside of her. Greed, was it? It was quite foreign to her. They shifted once again, and she felt suddenly foolish for accusing Rathios of such blasphemy. Her mind continued to wander, this time, they focused on the memory playing infront of her like a black and white film. A sudden pain struck her deeply as she found herself clearing her throat to speak again.

That was the first time...
--The first time he died.

"Thank you." She replied to him, a smile masking her pained expressions well-- Not that he could actually tell visually, but even if a smile was faux, it seemed to spread a certain amount of joy.

"I'll check it out, would you like me to return with the details?"

"It's not neccessary." Rathios said with a dismissive wave and a small smile. "I'd return home first, though, if I were you. Speak with Durithill, maybe. Rest a bit. I daresay it could do you some good, Lady Raine." he said with a small laugh.
