Quartz jumped away from Shuirkan and flew downward,barely catching Dion just before he smashed into the ground,and at the sight of one of their riders plummeting to the Earth,and another helping the varden,they thought their king was powerless and retreated "Thank you Quartz," Dion said.'Shhhh...save your energy' Quartz replied as Dion fainted.

Here is the problem with battle, Lydia thought grimly, catching sight of the unconcious Dion, needless deaths, injuries. Better not use magic for this case, Lydia told Artemis, lets get on with the battle, shall we?
(a few moments later)
Artemis, land, its no use battling in the air, Lydia healed a gash on her arm and on Artemis's thigh, both wounds were inflicted by an unknown rider.

(One day later)
Dion woke up in his room,he suddenly remembered the fall.Then he realized how tired he was and fell back to sleep "HNNCHHOOOOY!!!!"(he snores very,very loud)

Lydia finally stumbled into a room after the long battle, they had managed to drive the army off but Galbatorix's army could attack again at any time. Clutching her right arm, she sat down on a chair, grimacing.

Dion woke up a short while later and walked outside.Quartz was gone,'Probably at the honoring feast for the riders that protected the city,getting drunk' he thought.He slowly walked to the feast,admiring the beauty of the city.He was at the feast faster than he thought he would,and,sure enough,Quartz was wobbling around with a strange look on his face.Dion smirked,the smile grew larger and larger,until he burst out laughing at the sight.

Lydia did join the conversation but she declined the offer to drink with the others. Artemis did the same, Lydia caught a glimpse of Quartz and covered her mouth quickly to hide her laughter, then she saw five barrels of mead and couldn't help it, she burst out laughing just like Dion, Artemis snorted with amusement and continued slowly eating her vegetable soup, while Lydia helped herself to a small helping of salad.

Dion picked up an apple,giggling when he saw the barrels,he threw it at Quartz as he rose up on his hind legs,the apple bounced off his forehead,setting him off balance.CRASH!!!!Dion held his sides laughing as Quartz fell on his back.Eragon looked up and began laughing,remembering when that happened to Saphira.Dion picked up another apple and began chewing it,still giggling.

Lydia frowned, she didn't approve of treating dragons this way, even drunken dragons. Reaching up, she stroked Quartz's head, then set a barrel of nearly frozen iced tea in front of Quartz.

Dion helped Quartz up with a spell he'd learned earlier,"You ok buddy?" he asked with a grin.'I SWEAR TO DRUNK I'M NOT GOD!!!' Quartz shouted,as he fell over again.This was too funny,Dion fell on the ground laughing.

Lydia scowled, then, pushing Dion roughly aside, poured the icy tea over Quartz head. Artemis trilled with amusement.

"Come on calm down!This is all a charade!5 barres isn't enough to get him feeling happy!" Dion shouted at her. 'LADY WHY ARE YOU POURING ICED TEA ALL OVER MY HEAD?!?!?!?' Quartz shouted,suddenly looking angry.He started growling meanacly."Calm down Quartz she didn't know." Dion said glaring at the elf.

"You want to know why?" Lydia said fiercely, "next time don't drink so much and I won't have to." Lydia didn't flinch at Dion's glare nor did she back away, "and you should treat your dragon better anyway," she said to Dion, "when does a rider throw an apple at his dragon, even if the dragon is drunk and laugh when his or her dragon falls over? Come Artemis," she walked away from the party into the night.
