Nate woke from his dreary sleep, remembering the night before he sighed a little, sitting up and holding his head with one hand. "Was that....a dream, or reality?" He asked himself as he looked at his bedside table. A small card sat with an address neatly typed upon it. It was to Mel's cafe. "Reality....I owe her a visit.." He said, in an unregretful tone as he stood from his bed. He went into his bathroom and showered. Afterwards he dressed, quite respectfully, before leaving for the cafe.

Leo had woken up quite early that morning, as it was his turn to open up the coffee shop. Dressing in a pair of jeans and a green shirt, he left his small house and grabbed his bike, which he rode to the small Cafe. The sun was still out, and most people on the street were heading off discos and clubs. Used to a small town life, the boy just didn't understand their liking for loud music and psychedelic lights. Arriving at the Cafe, he let his bike in the alley and entered through the back door to the kitchen, where he turned on the stove and started cooking. Bread, cookies, and all sorts of cakes; he was soon overcrowded by his food. it was eight when he finally opened the Cafe for business, and the usual early customers started to arrive. Thirty minutes later, Mel arrived. The boy didn't notice her at first, busy making some cappuccinos, but he was glad when he heard her voice. "Hello, sunshine!" He declared, planting a loud kiss on her cheek while heading for the table the cappuccinos had been asked. "Had a rough night, I see!"
Mel blushed slightlly at her friend's comment. She was hoping it didn't show too much. Then again, he knew her better than most. "You wouldn't even believe it....a visit from ghost of Christmas Past." She smiled at his quizzical look, knowing he didn't understand her. Nor should he, she had kept her past with Nate a well-hidden secret.

Namine walked along the street with Demeter. They were enjoying themselves on their nice little walk. Namine thought about going to the bookstore. She had already decided which book she wanted to get. It was 'Paradise Lost'. A friend had recommended it. Demeter yipped and she stopped wondering what it was that cause him to do so. She bent down and tousled his ears. "Now Demeter whats gotten into you?" Demeter nuzzled her leg and as such she petted him. Getting up once more Namine noticed what seemed like a charming little cafe. She hadn't really had breakfast and thought maybe she should stop in for a bite. Crossing the street her and Demeter headed towards the cafe. Namine was unsure wether Demeter was allowed inside but she decided to risk it. Entering the cafe she moved to a table in the corner. Demeter settled down near her feet as she removed her coat and draped it on the chair. Sitting down she noticed the menu and began to peruse its contents.

Leo looked sideways at the girl entering the Cafe with her dog. He wasn't a dog-loving person at all; even though he liked to play with farm dogs when he was little, he didn't want them anywhere near his kitchen. Frowning slightly, he approached the girl. "I'm sorry, miss, but I really do wish you'd take the dog outside..."
Mel had noticed Leo going to the table and sighed. He just never changed. Excusing herself from the customer she was serving, she went to the table and touched Leo's elbow to catch his attention.
"It's ok, Leo, it's not running around or messing anything. As long as he behaves, he can be here." She smiled in a warm, dismissal manner, calming him down. She was used to deal with his temper tantrums by now, and held his gaze when he looked at her pleadingly and half-angry.
"Shh...Fine, you're the boss!" He turned his back on the two and walked to the counter again, in a foul mood.
Looking at the customer to take her order, Mel's words were caught on her throat. She was Namine, the model her friend Laura adored so deeply. It was a tad strange to see her here, just a customer, a regular person. Not letting her amazement show too much, the girl controlled her words. "I'm sorry, madam, Leo has a thing for the cleanness of his kitchen. I think he has a bad history of some sort with dogs..." She smiled pleasantly "Do you already know what you'll be having?"

Namine was embarrassed. She knew she should have tied Demeter outside. Namine watched as the guy left. She didnt even have a chance to respond. She wanted to apologize. She was grateful to the the girl who he referred to as the boss. Namine assumed that she ran the cafe or was the owner. "Im really sorry" Namine said. "Against my better instinct I brought my pet Demeter in here. If you like I can put him outside." Namine looked at the girl apologetically. Demeter wasn't too interested in the conversation but even so he looked between the two.

"Nevermind, it's ok. We don't have such restrictions stated at the door anyways...He'll get over it." Making a small note to pinch Leo when she passed by him, the girl smiled "And besides, he's quite a lovely dog." She was glad to see the model was actually a nice, down-to-earth person. Most famous people weren't. "I'm sorry, I don't think I introduced myself properly. I'm Melissa, and I'm currently in charge of the Cafe." She held out her hand to Namine. Knowing the customers and providing a familiar service was one of the focuses of the shop.

Namine smiled at the girl. "Thank you so much. Will you apologize for me?" She said smiling. Demeter moved tentatively towards Melissa sniffing her in the process. Deciding she was nice he rubbed her leg after which he plopped down once more. Looking down at the menu Namine decided she didnt know what she wanted. "Melissa dear would you mind recommending something. Im sure everything here is delicious and you would save me from becoming a total glutton." With a smile she added "Oh and my name is Namine..pleased to meet you."

"Sure, don't worry."Mel nodded at the girl and then noticed the dog seemed to have taken a liking to her. Unfortunately, she was working with food, so she couldn't pet him. Thinking for a moment, she replied. "Well, I'll recommend the Cappuccinos immediately. They're over delicious. As for the food, it's a bit hard...I myself am crazy for the chocolate croissants and the Tiramisu. But if you have to watch the sweets, maybe you could try the Meringue Cookies, the almond ones are amazing." She could see Leo pouting a little from the corner of her eye, but knew it wouldn't last for long. The Italian was far too cheerful to be down for long.

Namine smiled at the girl. "Thanks so much Melissa. Everything sounds delicious and dont worry I dont watch my weight at all." She laughed when she admitted that. "So my dear I will have one of your lovely cappucinos and some tiramisu. " Putting the menu downed she grinned satisfied with her choice. "Plus darling dont tempt me to gorge myself in front of all these lovely guests. I dont want to tarnish my image you know." Namine winked as she said that. She couldnt care less about her image but thought the joke was appropiate.

Nate looked at the address and then at the sign on a building. He sighed nervously as he opened the door, stepping inside and closing it after him he instantly spotted Mel chatting to another customer. He almost froze, he was very nerous and was afraid of sounding like a fool again. He sat down and awaited, politely, for Mel to finish with the customer. He looked around the neat, well-kept cafe with a half smile, it was mostly from him losing his nerves. The cafe was majorly different to the type of scene he would be used to at the Limelight. He sighed once more and then kicked himself secretly. "Stop acting so stupid....pull yourself together..." He thought to himself in a rather harsh and assertive tone, that of which he used when he was still captain of the school football team all those years ago. He straightened himself up and cleared his throat. He ran a hand through his blonde hair and sighed once more, silently, as he waited for Mel.

"Good choice! And I don't think I could, even if I tried." The girl replied, cheerfully. "I'll be right back". And with a small bow of her head, she left for the counter where Leo was washing some dishes. "Couldn't you be more pleasant with the girl? The dog is one of the more well-behaved I've seen! And besides, that happens to be Namine, a very famous model...I don't think she has many chances to relax." She pinched him hard in the back, making the young man flinch.
"I wouldn't care if it was the most famous model in the Universe. She brought dog to the Cafe where my food stands. But I admit I was a little harsh. I'll apologize, happy?" Leo eyed the girl annoyed, yet a little repentant of his outburst. He knew he could be somewhat rude sometimes. Looking over her shoulder to the order, he sighed. "I'll take care of that." Mel nodded in approval.
Swiftly, he made one of his famous cappuccinos, with special skill and care, and placed it on a tray, together with a small plate holding a piece of his tiramisu. Heading for the model's table, he placed both items in front of her and gathered his breath "I'm sorry for my lack of manners miss. I'm a bit overprotective of my kitchen, but I didn't mean to be rude." He gave her his best flirtatious smile, and suddenly noticed the girl was quite beautiful. "She's model material alright..." He thought, even more sorry he had talked badly to her before.

Happy with the way things were going with Leo and the girl, Mel had focused on the other customers waiting. After serving a piece of Italian cake and two coffees, she lifted her head to clean the counter and her gaze fell on Nate, waiting not too far away. "Damn it. I gave him the address..." She sighed, looking around. She hadn't expected him to come. Slowly, gathering her thoughts, she smiled and waved at him, inviting him to reach her.
