Don chuckled a bit, "Kale seems like a pretty normal kid, in all honesty, Tanner's a little too shy, I'm not sure if he'll even want to leave the table." He said concerned about Tanner. The boy was slowly making a couple freinds, but he rarely if ever leaved Don's side in public. "Heck, to get him in the ball pit I might have to go in with him." He said with a little bit of a laugh.

"Iiii think they might kick you out of the restaurant. Or call the cops." Marshall said, not exactly enjoying the idea of Don's arrest traumatizing Kale or Tanner like that. Or ending up on the local news: Grown man arrested for ball-pit scandal.
That would just suck.

"Ya think so?" Don asked confused, "I'd think there are other parents who would have shy kids and do the same thing. Maybe you're right though, there are a lot of weirdos out there." He said frowning. "The boys should be waking up soon, hopefully. They might be a little more tuckered out than usual though, it'd been a pretty exciting day for them so far."

"No kidding." Marshall chuckled, wondering how Tanner and Kale would take to the tacky eatery. His pleasant thoughts were ruined, however, when he saw the calender on the wall. His eyes widened, his skin grew pale (-er) and stomach sank. Today was the deadline for his latest novel, "One Night In VonHelson's Mansion: The Liam Story". Dare he check his cell phone? Marshall vanished for a moment, then came back fully dressed while being screamed at over the phone.
"THE DEADLINE HAS PASSED, MARSHALL! WE NEEDED THAT MANUSCRIPT THREE FREAKIN' HOURS AGO?! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THE PUBLISHER IS GOING TO DO TO YOU?!!" a lady screamed on the other end of the phone.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I completely forgot!"
"YOU BET YOUR SCRAWNY a** YOUR SORRY! GET DOWN HERE WITH THOSE PAPER NOW BEFORE THEY CUT OFF BOTH OF OUR HEADS!"
Marshall looked at Don like a puppy that had just been scolded. "Um, we're gonna have to take a rain-check on lunch...Mind if I just take Kale? I'll bring back the Pajamas tomorrow..." If I'm not dead, that is!
Marshall scooped up the sleeping rodent boy, taking him out to the car. "I'm really sorry about this!" Marshall apologized meekly.

Don looked a little be-wildered at Marshall's sudden change in plans, "Uh...yeah, sure..." He said as Marshall raced out to the car. Once they tore out of the driveway Don looked back in the living room where Tanner was still asleep. The little boy could sleep through anything. Don shook his head with a grin as he went to clean up the house and get dressed.
