Brother Felix Chaos owns all but you have to know what your doing. That's specific. Honestly, if you know what you're doing you can win with any army.

NeXdarkone Well my flying monkeys can beat your tau fleet. and your little dog, too! not to mention my governer can beat up your governer, and my kung fu is stronger than yours. Oh come on now, lets at least restrain our macho bullshit posturing over the relative strength of our factions to Warhammer. To get back on topic, I'll restate my opinion: Whatever army most interests you is the best army to start with. No army is ouright gimped, and if you particularly like an army, you are more likely to stick with it long enough to learn exactly how it works. Now does anyone else have a relevant observation on what 40k army is the best to begin with?

Oryn I hold to my opinion that the best army to start with is the one whose fluff you like the best. Completely and totally agreed. You're not playing to win, you're playing to have fun.

As was mentioned earlier, Tau are pretty hard to use. They take practice to emply properly and I've seen the Tau get murdered pretty easily to simple tactics.
