OK, so then every time I make an rp it gains no interest. Now then I don't make you're typical epic quest to save land X from badguy Y, or slightly less typical Super soldiers killing things. The last time I made an RP it was a war drama with a futuristic WW1 type setting where you just played some grunts trying to keep themselves alive. Band of Brothers esque.
I'm wondering why things like that garner no interest with people?

Unique RP ideas take more effort from the players to play just as it does you to make it, fewer RPers are ready for that, and many don't even consider leaving their comfort zone. For something less than ordinary you really have to keep active about getting the word out, it's unlikely the right players will just fall into your lap.

For a-typical ideas, you have to make sure that it is well laid out and easy to read/follow. Historical fiction is very interesting but people can feel easily intimidated if they do not know much about the history that you are dealing with.

Okay, I got a question. I'm trying to make a character not-so-invincible. She's a water element, so she can regenerate if she loses limbs. There's one method I'd like to try, and that's to turn her into salt (if she was evaporated, she'd just come back..only it wouldn't be so quickly)....so, I guess the question is....How do I kill my character in an effective and fair manner?

freeze her maybe, she wouldn't totally be dead which could be a plus but if shes made of water that would stop her from doing anything. If she just uses the water as a base matter for healing you could isolate her somewhere dry and kill her, she wouldn't be able to recover, I'm assuming she wouldn't turn into some 'Just Add Water!!' type product, coming back to life in the next rain, of course once she's dead she could be cremated, even if you can recover with water once you're smoke theres no turning back. (firemonger in the desert?)

She doesn't use the water to heal, although that's the quickest way for her to travel.

Yea, if she's made of water than freezing her or putting her through a process of nuclear fission/fusion are the only real ways I can think of to kill her, unless there's some sort of poison that will turn the water she's made of into normal not living water.
Unless by chance she's a being born of magical energy, given form by binding to water, then a dispersion spell of whatever sort would kill her fairly easily.

RPs are judged on their merits not their genre.

Ok I guess this goes with stratigo's post in a way. I've created a RP, called Xombie World: Bone Chilling Tales, and have seen only someone who thinks one of my jokes is funny. Which is not a bad thing, I enjoy people enjoying my humor, but I seem to have noticed that zombie Rps seem to fall to the dead zone, slightly ironic. Is this simply the wrong place for a Rp like that or do I just need to advertise better? I love this guild so I wouldn't think of leaving, but would like a understanding of why my Rp is dieing......again (it is a zombie Rp after all.)

To Ronyo.
Well, the Rps are probably just aren't that interesting probably. I do fantasy Rps, and people just join them. Why not try to make it more of fantasy like add some magic to make it more fantasy like. But it is up to you of what you add to it. I want to join a Rp that is zombie based, but I cant find one here because they all die...
