Mel squeals with happiness and excitement. "Ooooooooh, thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!!!!!" She happily begins to whistle a tune that sounds suspiciously like the Final Fantasy Victory theme.

Grym chuckles as he shrugs lightly, pulling a rolled up piece of parchment from his belt and unrolling it to reveal a map of the surrounding area that seemed to shift as he moved.
"Hmm...according to the map, there's a small tavern on the way to our informant's house...so I guess we could stop there for rest if it starts getting too dark."

"You really laugh a lot, Grym," Mel says conversationally, then looks to Lexenos. "Unlike this sourpuss who doesn't laugh at all." She lets out a small giggle as she says this.

Grym shrugs lightly and shakes his head.
"I laugh a lot because I'm a generally happy person. And as for Lexenos..."
He leans over to Mel to whisper in her ear.
"Just give him some time, he'll loosen up."

Mel blushes brightly and lets out a small giggle. "Thank you," she whispers back to Grym, taking a small glance at Lexenos. Getting an idea, she suddenly asks, "Can I call you Lex?"

Lexenos notices that Grym whispered something to Mel, and is trying to decide whether to ask about it or not when Mel suddenly asks if she can call him Lex.
"No," he says harshly, rather taken aback. "No," he says again, a lot less mean this time. "I prefer not to go by that."

"Why not?" Mel demands, the red gone from her face. "You let Grym call you Lex. Why won't you let me?" she says somewhat angrily.

"I let Grym call me Lex because he's a lot stronger than me, and I prefer not to argue about small trifles with those who are more powerful than I am," Lexenos explains calmly, the anger gone from his voice, but with a small trace of weariness still evident.

"If you want, I won't call you that anymore. Mel, we should respect his wishes. After all, if we don't then we just end up being the ones looking like jackasses. Now shall we get moving? I'd like to be indoors by nightfall."

Lexenos tries his hardest not to blush and to say "Thank you," in as dignified a voice as he can. He then says in a much clearer voice, "I agree with Grym. Let's get inside before dark falls."

Grym nods as he begins to walk, keeping his hand on the hilt of one of his many swords, his cloak swirling slightly in the cool breeze that lingered around him.

"Which way did you say that tavern was?" Mel asks Grym. "It's starting to get pretty dark, and I'm getting a bad feeling that someone's following us." Mel looks behind the group, half expecting a giant troll to come lumbering out of the gloom.
