...aaaaand it turns out that two of the patterns I bought (including the one I was really excited about) are the wrong size. ._____. rats.

I should have paid more attention to what I was doing...

Too big or too small?

Too small. I'm being told that I can just trace bigger around it, but also that doing so is a pain in the butt. Also I'd have to procure the right kind of paper, I believe.

*goggles over the art* whooooooaaaaaaaaa

Wow, that's nice Bri!

Hanae: Ah.... Yea, I wouldn't know how to do it either. I would guess just add a few inches along the edges. But I don't sew, so I don't know if that would work.

Lucca: I believe you purchase the key in order to "open" the chest, and the chest randomly grants you one of the items that were previewed when you first clicked on the chest.

Hanae: Aw, that sucks. I think there's more to sizing up than just adding the same width all around the edges. Is there a pattern-maker or seamstress you can consult, perhaps? Or do you have a fairly similar pattern already in the right size that you can use as a guide to how much larger to size the various pieces?

Bri: WHOAMG, love! @_@ Why can't you commission this person again? Are they retired now?

My friends who sew haven't said that there's more to it than that, I think. I'll have to keep looking around for more information.
I'd need to look at the pattern I do have and take note of the differences between the sizes it's got... there's got to be some sort of proportion between the things/.
These are the first patterns I've ever bought, hence the amateurish mistake. 8D; oh well

LOL! I think that was the same word that came out of my mouth when I first saw it X'D!!

Nah, they isn't retired, they just have their commissions closed for the time being. Granted, I'm sure as soon as they re-open now, they will be swamped quicker than this previous time :'D

That's what I thought too, but clicking on the items as they flash by (displaying their own prices) does nothing... I would have liked to just up and buy Cecil, and I do have more than 499 cash, but the only thing the chest window would actually let me buy was the key.

Yep, thats how that works sadly. The price on the items are kinda there to let you know that you'd be getting more from your 99GC if you got it in the box, not that you can actually purchase them for that much.

Oh, no, you don't click on the items. You just "open" the chest by using the key, and then it randomly grants you one of the items. You can't choose which one. It's more like a giftbox or RIG than a shop. ^^

Well, that's silly. Who the heck puts a price tag on something, then refuses to let you purchase it for that amount? Is that even legal?

I think it was either their guestimation of what it would be worth in cash or just an error in the scripting. either way, it's kinda lame.

It's kind of the whole point of the trunk. You purchase a key and you get your money's worth out of it, but there's an element of surprise in that you don't know which item you'll be getting. Showing you the "pool" out of which you'll be getting an item and showing you their assigned worth assures you that you are in fact getting your money's worth. If they were just selling the items shop-like, then we wouldn't need the trunk at all. You'd just go straight to La Victoire or Phin Phang. ^^

I started out opening all my giftboxes and such but after racking up an amazing pile of Dried Grass Skirts and Hockey Masks I just sold them. XD Recently on a mule I nabbed a Pink Giftbox and thought I'd go ahead and open it for kicks since at they time they weren't worth much. I got an Angelic Headband! ^^

The most recent thing that I have received that could be classified as nifty was a nitemare headband. I was pleasantly surprised.
