Maybe this is just me, but I don't think the Constanze one is all that Star Wars-y.
Then again, I'm not a huge fan and I particularly like that dress, so my perspective may be skewed.

I'd say there is a similarity in that they both look to be influenced by Japanese clothing, actually. You know, the fold-over collar and the wide fitted midriff reminiscent of an obi?

Fair enough.
It's just that I look at it and my brain goes "KIMONO?!", not "STAR WARS!".
Which is likely because I have not watched very much Star Wars at all, so. Yeah.

You aren't alone. While similar to the dress Leia wore in A New Hope, neither strikes me as belonging in the Star Wars universe.

Agreed. Both Star Wars and that dress remind me of Japanese clothing, but my mind doesn't work backwards or further along the same route.
I suppose it's a matter of what you have on the brain. ^^ If you show me a kokeshi doll I'm going to think of my relatives and Japan, but someone else might think of zOMG! instead. XD

There's been some sort of cold going around campus... everyone I hang out with has gotten it, and it finally caught up to me sometime last night. For some reason I felt fine most of this evening. Maybe because I spent most of today sleeping; I don't know.
Six patterns is kind of a lot for me. The only thing I've made from a pattern before is a doll. xD; I'm sure there will be more sales... One pattern in particular is exciting to me. It's a reprint of a vintage pattern (I guess?), and it's for a dress that's comprised of only THREE PIECES. It wraps around: [x]

Star Wars has a lot of Japanese influence, though, and with its close-fitting sleeves tucked into its gloves the Constanze dress reminded me more of this crossed with this than of anything Japanese people truly have worn. On a completely different topic, just how does the Luck Chest work, anyway? I know the key costs 99 cash, but what do the listed prices on the things that flash by to show you what could be in the chest mean? Do you have to pay for both the key AND what comes out of the chest?

...aaaaand it turns out that two of the patterns I bought (including the one I was really excited about) are the wrong size. ._____. rats.
I should have paid more attention to what I was doing...
