Sunstrike rubbed his eyes.
"You told me your name when we first started fighting. I am Sunstrike, more or less, you missed out my first two names..." This was getting ridiculous. Patience was never one of his bigger qualities.
"It goes to wherever Je'en went, I wouldn't kill her. Just go through, it's some kind of port town, leave the wounded one...and I'll send him through in about ten minutes or so when they're healed. Then I have to leave."

He didn't know what it was that kept his legs moving.
Or why he just didn't give in to the temptation to just fall asleep.
But there it was, to understand, disbelieve or cry at. His very soul strained, his body holding itself together through nothing but sheer will-- he had survived under going the 'ritual', and barely survived the ensuing fight, the armor itself doing all the work practically.
And it had taken him so long to get to this point... to find that face again... and he was already on the brink of losing it for good.
It was always the same of course.. pushing himself, and bleeding out everything as if he were looking for an excuse to just give in already.
Maybe he loved the abuse, the pain.
The ache.
He felt so weak... physically and mentally, as if the flesh had been flayed off his very bones and all the fire had been sucked out of him.
And for what? He came in search of his loved one, only to be tested again and not do anything when it counted.

"...Oh, yeah. Well, remind me of your name...s."
Confusion was indeed a mutha. He remembered the point where he gave his name, but not when Sunstrike introduced himself as someone else. The other voices were understood, heard and picked out... he knew that this was not Sunstrike as Laz knew him, for whatever little he did know of the guy.
His arms went down yet again because... it didn't seem that kicking any sense into Sunstrike was going to be happening, either from Sun constantly throwing walls of vines or earth at him, or because Sun wasn't going to change his mind.
"Hnn, I'm sticking around here to see this happen. If you won't listen, the least I can do is make sure that Vahn stays alive and you actually make it back. Because, you know, this place might flood."
Being helpless sucked too, and one fourth of Laz's mind was kicking him hard, telling him not to give up on this... that he's fought hard opponents and someone doing this should be cake. But another forth was trying to be reasonable and give Sun the benefit of the doubt.
The other two forths were staring at the two quarreling forths, scratching their heads and trying to make up their own minds.

"Alright, but don't blame me if you're eyebrows get burnt off..." That honestly WAS real humour. How could this be Sunstrike? Then again, with answers like that, how could it not be?
He stalked his way over to the wounded man and studied him carefully. No one was home in those yellow eyes, Vahn, the other had called him, seemed to be standing out of sheer stubborness alone.
"I just have to get him well enough to travel back through the gate with you." He wasn't going to ignore Lazenca, if nothing else then because the uncertainty in the Laz's voice still made him somewhat of a threat to Sunstrike's well being. "I've seen things that come out of blenders better looking...."
Pale fingertipes reached up and cupped a darker face. Sunstrike was cold...he'd never been cold before. If Vahn reared back from the touch Sun would just hold harder, bringing him down to stare into both eyes.
"Don't move too much okay? I don't think this will hurt you much, but I'm seriously out of practice. It's a good thing there's a lot of water around." Bloodied thumbs traced marks along Vahn's cheeks.
There was a long pause, while internal bleeding was stemmed and then stopped all together, followed by steam as Vahn's wounds began to close and seal, leaving no scars.
After it was done, Sun would let go, panting for breath. Rips started all up his inner palms where he'd touched the other man.
"You're still weak," He said, rubbing a scarred hand over his equally damaged eyes. "Eat something later and you'll be fine..." He looked up at Laz.
"Satisfied?"

Lazenca sniffed hard, then turned his head away for a split second.
"Yo momma satisfied?"
Lolwhut?
"Sure. What about you... are you done yet? Even with him healed, he's likely still delierious and I'm not fighting his clawing and kicking to get back to you." He spoke even as he approached Sun and Vahn calmly, showing no intention to attack. That was enough of that tomfoolery.
Vahn... what do you see in him? What makes you yearn for this man so much that you'd risk your own well being? Sunstrike... who are you? What are you, that makes him crazy?
Lazenca couldn't some to understand the bond the two men had. The writer's himself could only pretend to imagine it. It was as if they were... no, not lovers. It was more than that. It was that, and beyond.
Brothers? By blood, by... soul?
"The...." He sighed and shook his head, folding his arms. "Goddamned, Vahn..."
And then he grinned.
Don't ask.

His left hand shot up, grabbing firm hold of whatever was there even as he pulled Sun down and himself up.
"Don't... waste my time... I didn't come here for nothing..."
He was fatigued as hell, and still not understanding anything. It was all like a giant fog in his mind, and he wanted it cleared up and away already.
"Did you really think this was the best option? The only option?!"

The god blinked in surprise when the hand reached out, and gripped so hard, bones could be heard creaking. The first reaction was anger, scathing and ripping inside of him, more then his body wanted to contain.
It wasn't right, that something so mortal would reach, and touch, and seek to bind, one such as himself.
Temperatures rose in the personal space between the two, then spiraled outwards in waves.
Sunstrike had to take stock, he had underestimated what would happen after the healing took place. Nor had he taken into consideration his own shells mortality, which was greatly failing him, adding to the deeply pissed off reaction. He didn't have a lot of time.
There was something pulling on the inside as well, a net of sorts, odd magic. Sun's head started to echo with a pain that shredded pieces of his mind.
"I've done you a service, don't make me regret my actions..."
Teeth gritted as he yanked hard against the grip. He didn't know what Vahn was, but facination warred a losing battle against the madness.
He sounded distant, distracted, unconsciously moving towards Laz. Something about the contact was starting to pull and tear at his mind. He knew these people, but didn't, the and the division of his own head was starting to destabalize and eat him from the inside out.

"---!"
Yellowed eyes stared out towards the redhead, even as he dared to pull away.
"You don't know the meaning of regret!" He pushed his body up and forward, sluggishly at first, but enough to ram with his right shoulder, dropping in low even as he got his Fang free from the ground.

Sunstrike skidded backwards in the turf, switching his footing to keep balance as something cracked in the impact of shoulder to chest, the fight earlier had taken everything he had just to keep stable. That along with the moving continent and the heal...
"Stop..." He'd expected a walk away, not another fight. Again he pulled, seeming more like a child in a parents grip then a sorcerer. His family was gone, he wanted to die in peace.
He'd not seriously hurt either men, though the opportunity had certainly been there, it had been so easy to him at one point, to destroy. Now he was drained and tired and cold...the shirt had degraded to his waist, leaving the mist to drip down the pale body and cause the wounded skin to shiver heavily.
Sunstrike looked pathetic.
s**t. That was a familiar word...he understood the language. This body knew these people, cared...
Panic.
The gate seemed too far away now, and nothing would be able to come back through and protect him.
"I don't know you, I don't want to, leave me ALONE!" He lashed out at a knee with a foot, trying to get away.

He stumbled back a bit, off balance and nearly toppling due to the weight of the Fang on his left hand. "Hrgghh---!" "What have you done now!!" He would lurch back in, lifting his left leg up high to impact against Sun's chin, letting go completely of his Fang.

"Hgk!" Spit and blood flew as Sunstrike staggered backwards, slipping on the muddy ground. What the hell HAVE I done? The thought was vauge and painfilled, things in his mind were coming back together as the magic that had shattered it was being beaten out of him. Quote: "Kas....you musn't....lose yourself." It was a strange thing to say from the half shadows of a dying fire, but there you go. "I constantly am fighting a battle I can't hope to win against the beings within my mind...I know...I know what it's like to be plauged by things half understood that reach out to capture you..." A bit of silence stretched and the glow from his eyes dimed as they narrowed introspectively. "But you musn't lose... then I'd have to make a promise I wouldn't like...because, your the only one...that could probably stop me, should I fall...and if you go first before getting me...everyone left behind would suffer for it." Stop me? The weapon formed in his hand and a pole exploded to life. This feeling of betrayl an hurt he was receiving from the other man couldn't be justified, could it? From what? Being MYSELF?!He rolled and flipped himself back upright, crouching in defence. "This is who I am, accept it and LEAVE."

"I've been waiting all my life for someone like you!" He stood there, hunched over as he labored with each breath. His right arm had been going numb, but the feeling in it was returning the moment the climate was forcibly changed. "And now you think I'll just let you slip away!!?"

Sunstrike moved forward with long strides, grabbed what was left of the tattered coat and dragged the other man forwards to look him straight in the eye.
Sunstrike....
"Look, little soul, all I see is some stranger trying his best to stop me from getting what I want. I'm supposed to DIE, I was supposed to die and ESCAPE. There's still time for that...."
Do you know why you're here, Sunstrike?
The redhead froze, he'd caught the yellow eyes and he finally...
***
Two boys were fighting in the gardens. They looked the same, but one was obviously triumphing over the other.
From the shadows Henry folded his arms and watched in vauge amusment as the usual ritual of Victor thrashing Vahn carried on. What was differant was a smaller being just behind him.
The teenager was even more hidden then the sorcerer, and wasn't looking, seeming hardly interested in the sword play.
"This is why you're here Sunstrike, why don't you watch?"
"I don't want to help the loser...I've told you that before..." There was a thud and a yell, and the redhead winced.
"Only because you sympathize." An angry huff and a deeper movement into the shadows. "Besides, you won't even remember all this, to you, he'll seem...heroic."
"That's not the point," Another wail and crash bore a glance, he was already fretting, which earned an amused look from Henry. "If I'm so worried all the time about keeping him together, how the hell am I supposed to live a life? That's no kind of...state to be in. Even Je'en and Knights weren't this much trouble."
"Worry, Sun? I'm not sure you know how to do anything else, besides sex." A strangled sound from the boy, embarassment nearly driving them both out of their concealment before he calmed himself down.
"It's perfect," Henry continued on, despite the growing human shaped ball of hate radiating in his direction. "Just be around for a while...you never know, he might need you. Then when it's done, I'll take you home before you destroy the place when he doesn't want you anymore."
"I don't need to be needed or wanted or ANYTHING from him!!!" The whisper was vicious and earned him a rap on the head for speaking out of turn.
"Yes, you do. Otherwise I'd have dragged you to the afterlife courts myself and chucked you in." Rage turned to fear.
"I have a soul..."Sunstrike said that as if it was the last thing in life that he clung to. He looked at the scraped and dirty kid trying to get the last few desperate blows in, and sighed. "He should really just kick him in the groin and run..."
"That's you're answer to every insurmountable odd." Sunstrike shrugged.
***
Sunstrike was broken, bleeding, and shaken to the core. This was...I'm still...
"How did this happen? Why are you here? What happened to you? W-where's...?" Brain fuse. Sun had no idea what timeline he was in again, so much so that he actually looked a lot younger, standing back from Vahn and looking at him in horror.
"You're not supposed to have come...you don't need me anymore..."

His eyes widened even as he grabbed, finding he had next to nothing left in his legs to even keep himself grounded.
"Unngg..."
"Look, little soul, all I see is some stranger trying his best to stop me from getting what I want. I'm supposed to DIE, I was supposed to die and ESCAPE. There's still time for that...."
He could feel his whole body shaking from overexhaustion...
"How did this happen? Why are you here? What happened to you? W-where's...?"
There--!
"You're not supposed to have come...you don't need me anymore..."
His right arm lifted, the hand clamping down over Sun's face, fingers digging in tightly as he threw whatever body weight he had forward.
"It took me a whole year to come--- and your telling me I wasn't supposed to be here?! Don't make me laugh!
Something happened out here--- someones filled your head with crap and given you way too much....and I'll fix that." The Hand was already forming around his right forearm, talons coming to bear, even as he brought his left hand out to hold the other side of Sun's face.

"!!!!" Sunstrike was driven into the ground, feet and legs caving in. Blood mixed with mud covered him and splattered Vahn as they both fell. His weapon shot off much like the flamberge had.
He scrabbled frantically, a cry muffled as his hands gripped against the one holding his face down. The mud started to bubble against the heat that was building, and Sun could feel the draw of the abyss deep within, reaching for Vahn's magic.
The rips started to become more apparent as he tried to hold himself together, clinging desperately to something he recognized.
