Just saw Shoot 'Em Up.

It was pointless, mindless, unnecessary violence. And I loved every damn second of it. The cast was great, the violence wonderfully over the top, and I want to see it again.

Go see it if you get the chance.

Watched the new Iron Man trailer today. I like how the movie is looking...I also loved when they kicked into Iron Man by Black Sabbath.

Robert Downey plays Tony pretty well also.

For all you Poke Freaks out there:

On Saturday September 29th from 12 pm to 3 pm as part of Geoffrey's Birthday Celebration, your local Toys R Us will be giving away a free Manaphy for everyone with a DS and their Pokemon Diamond or Pearl game pak! Yay!

And guess who gets to come in during their last day of vacation just to distribute the little buggers to the horrendous little freaks because no one else in their store has a damn clue how to do it?

gonk

But that's ok, because just like last year with the free Mew giveaway, I plan on "claiming" about a dozen Manaphy of my own. twisted

Every couple weeks I give The Batman a chance, since so many people keep saying it's getting better. I agree that it's improving marginally (in the sense that Lucious Fox is awesome and this has basically the only bareable version of Catwoman continuously being updated, although she'd better in the comic). But this is rather like saying that today, I didn't slam my hand into a door, whereas yesterday I did.
"Not bad" isn't code for "good."
What's interesting is that while the show isn't so much bad anymore, it's deffinately gone up on the wierd.
Because...
Superman is an angsty loner in this show! He doesn't want to work OR play well with others! He's not only not cheerful, he SCOWLS. Batman is trying to invite him into the JLA and Supeman won't because he "likes to work alone." He doesn't care if it makes him a loner.
And then Batman tells Superman he needs to get some friends.

What kind of twilight zone universe is this?! gonk Black is white, up is down, angst is cheerful!

The upside is I think it's the same VA for Luthor. heart

Also, even if I did get some screen time, I think my character got stupider. I mean he stood there with an explosive batarang in my chest and just stared at it... stare

Other than the fact that Luthor's chin looked like it could impale someone's head, I liked The Batman version of him. He was oddly more evil.

The's because that show is really over=the-top on a lot of things, so he gets more freedom to be absolutely dastardly. Sadly, as a long running villain it spoils his chances. But then, it's The Batman and not The Superman, and they don't have long running anything anyway.

I'm more interested in the Legion redesign, since they've got the clone Superboy and he's got an actual personality whereas the other guy really really didn't. I'm hopeful, despite that stupid Triplicate Girl thing.

Although even then...these cartoons really don't grab me.
