Cassandra grinned at Lorcan before turning her gaze towards the others. She had heard the chuckle from Kasumi, and the look of appraisal she gave her. "Come on Merida," Cassandra said as she looked to her other friend. "Give it a try. Just real quick."Merida rolled her eyes a little and sighed with a small shrug of her shoulders. "Fine, a quick lesson. Although we're supposed to be looking for those kids." She walked up to a tree and looked up it's long trunk. If they could do it, then she could as well. She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath, as she lifted a foot and placed it against the tree. It took several moments of concentration to clear her mind and when she finally did she was able to get a couple of feet up the tree before she was blown back. Merida landed on her feet in a crouch position.

Kasumi tilted her head. "Uusually focusing on one thing, such as a flame, likely should assist your concentration," she said with amusement. -_-_-_-_-_- -_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán tilted his head as he watched Merida, his gaze shifting to the southeast. He had created a couple of duplicates that were even now tracking the escapees from the Abbey. His eyes narrowed as his body tensed as a low hiss escaped between his teeth as he sensed one clone suddenly dispel as the second reacted before being dispelled as well. "Seems there are large, unfriendly tattooed rats with spears and hatchets in that direction," he muttered. -_-_-_-_-_-

Merida looked over at Kasumi with an amused flicker in her eyes. If there was one thing that she was good at, it was concentrating on one certain thing. It came in handy when one was fighting for ones life or for others. Merida took another deep breath and began practicing to climb the tree once again. Cassandra turned her gaze away from Merida and to Lorcan. "Is that the direction the others went to," she asked softly. She knew that Lorcan had more than likely sent out some help to scout ahead. Merida had managed to make it to the branch that Cassandra and Lorcan were sitting on. She flipped herself up with a sigh of relief and sat there, listening to what they were saying. "Well we had better move on, hadn't we?"

Kasumi tilted her head; during the short time she'd spent in the village that Naruto had once grown up in, she had noticed a feral clan that smelled of wolves that had used the exact technique Merrick had earlier. -_-_-_-_-_- -_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán exhaled. "Unfortunately, yes. From the way they attacked the clones, I would assume they are either desperate or hungry, and not for food... that we'd prefer," he said grimly. He heard Kasumi dart up the tree at high speed, the only sound that warned him being a soft tapping before she clung to the tree just above and behind them. -_-_-_-_-_-

Cassandra sighed as she stood up. Just another day in their lives. There was always something going. Why couldn't those young ones had stayed put for just a little while longer. "Well let's move on then. Let's take care of this so we can get some rest."Merida stood up as well, finding her balance on the tree branch. "Yeah, I would like a little bit of rest before more training," she said with a chuckle. "Well better to hurry along then, isn't it," Amelia asked from down below. Both her and Nala were looking up at the tree that they were in. "Best to get those kids out of trouble before they get into too much trouble." She smirked a little.

Kasumi sighed before she darted from tree to tree fluidly, tracking a bit further ahead than the others even as she kept an eye on Amelia below. -_-_-_-_-_- -_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán tilted his head before he pushed off, somersaulting at the last moment so that he used a handspring to leap from the next tree to the one after it. "That's the problem with life; when you want to rest you can't, and when you wish it to be boring, it isn't," he said with amusement. -_-_-_-_-_-

"Think I'll join Amelia on the ground for this one," Merida said with a chuckle as she dropped down next to the other witch and her familiar. Later she would practice moving among the trees. Right now they just needed to get to those kids. "That is too true," Cassandra said with a laugh as she followed after Lorcan, going from tree limb to tree limb. "Who wants boring anyway?" She shrugged a little and winked at Lorcan. She knew that she didn't like boring. Sure she wanted it safe sometimes, but never boring. Amelia smirked at Merida and shook her head. She would keep the other witch company down here. It was easier for Nala anyway. This way the kids would be easier to track.

Kasumi exhaled as she moved quickly, her gaze scanning around before she pushed off, somersaulting twice before landing next to where the river cut across their path. "I wonder how they got across so quickly," she said thoughtfully. -_-_-_-_-_- -_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán shifted his weight as he pushed off, somersaulting as he landed slightly behind and to Kasumi's left. "I think I know," he said as he tilted his head towards where woven vines created a hanging bridge. Fortunately, I have a way that should make it easier for us to get across, he thought as he crouched, his hand flickering through a couple of handsigns before pressing his palms to the ground. The ground directly in front of him cracked before rising slowly up much like a conveyor belt before resting a couple of feet from the other side. -_-_-_-_-_-

Cassandra had landed next to Lorcan and Kasumi with Merida and Amelia not far behind them. She saw the vines that created a hanging bridge and then Lorcan created an easier way for them to get across. She grinned a little and motioned for Merida and Amelia to follow. Nala darted ahead of her, stopping on the other side of the river. "Smart kids," Amelia said softly with a small shake of her head.

Kasumi tilted her head, examining the makeshift bridge; she could see, looking closely, that it was weathered and battered. "I think they just used what was here already," she said thoughtly. -_-_-_-_-_- -_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán shifted his weight subtly as his gaze shifted before his eyes widened. His hand dropped to his hip before he flicked the weighted end of the kusari-gama at his hip quickly at the spear, shattering the roughly hewn head and half of the haft feet from where Nala had landed. -_-_-_-_-_-

Nala had already jumped back, sensing the danger a split second before Lorcan had taken care of it. She looked back at him and gave him what seemed like a smirk. She then darted out of sight as Amelia let out a breath. "Sometimes that feline makes me feel like I am going to have a heart attack.""Let's go see the trouble she's found," Merida said with a chuckle as she held her arm out for Amelia and they crossed to the other side. She made sure to keep her eyes open, ready for any attack. "That was quick," Cassandra said with a smile at Lorcan. She had no doubt that Amelia's feline familiar could have taken care of it herself, but it was good that others looked out for her.

Kasumi's eyes narrowed as she noticed a flicker of navy and gray out of the corner of her eye before Lorcan blasted the rat with the Raiton: Gian technique. She cocked her head, not liking the idea of disturbing whatever her son was doing, but if she was right, then maybe it would be a good thing to do so. -_-_-_-_-_- -_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán's eyes narrowed as the large rat showed himself; he could tell that no less than twenty more were in the trees with stained looking knives or roughly hewn spears in hand. A narrowing of his eyes was the only warning he gave before his hand flashed out, a white hot blast of lightning blasting the rat in the back as the stench of burning fur and fat became obvious. -_-_-_-_-_- A large fat rat with a stained loincloth of oak leaves smirked, showing stained fangs. He said only two words. "Gurga Blug," he said as he shifted a large spear with a nasty looking serrated rusted blade. The seven foot tall rat shifted, his hand flicking to signal them to follow either by free will or by force. He never saw the blast of intense elemental fury that ended his existence and sent him to the Hellgates.

Cassandra smirked a little as Lorcan got rid of the large rat. These animals had obviously never met a witch before, despite the fact that she and a couple of others had visited over the years. This little fight was not going to end for well for them. Her gaze flickered to the other rats that were in the trees. It seemed that Nala was taking care of a few of them. She was deathly quiet as she dispatched them. "A very quick familiar you have there, Amelia," Cassandra said with a slight chuckle. "Yes, and deadly," Amelia replied softly. She had caught sight of several kills before she closed off the sight she had with her familiar. She didn't care to watch how Nala killed, no matter how long they had been bonded. "Hmm, I would use fire to get rid of these creatures, but it seems that there are too many trees," Merida sighed as she shifted in her spot. "I don't want to burn any down.""And that is where Constance would have come in handy," Cassandra said with a smile as she flicked her wrist. A bolt of lightening struck down several of the rats.

Kasumi shifted her weight, her hand lowering as she took a deep breath. She closed her eyes before reopening them to reveal they had shifted to a brilliant glowing amber with golden edges with slitted pupils. A swirling aura of golden crimson energy exploded around her as she grew slightly in height as her clothing strained against her enhanced form. It was still obviously feminine, though now her legs were clearly more vulpine like those of a fox and two furry tails swayed behind her. Her nails had lengthened into razor sharp claws while her formerly deep amber-bronze fur had gained noticeable streaks of crimson in it. -_-_-_-_-_- Merrick was shuddering as he slid free from Constance's body, knowing the sand was sticking to both of them though it wasn't very noticeable when it came to their hair. "You are so damned beautiful," he said softly. He paused, sensing a burst of molten power on his senses to the south-southeast of them before Haname leaped out of the bushes. He frowned slightly as Haname panted. Something is wrong, because I have no doubt that that burst of power and Haname tracking us down is no coincidence, he thought. -_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán jerked slightly as he felt the massive burst of anger and power behind him as his gaze shifted to spot Kasumi, who looked extremely irritated before she pushed off and in two strides had kicked the nearest rat in the stomach so hard that he slammed into a nearby tree which shuddered as it leaned away from them. "Damn," was all he could say as the rat slumped, obviously either incapacitated or dead. -_-_-_-_-_- The other rats all charged from the trees, not noticing that four of their number did not follow due to Nala's efforts.

Constance's body shuddered as Merrick pulled away from her. She smiled as she reached up and touched his face gently. "You're simply amazing." She kissed him before she felt a burst of power to the southeast. She pulled away slightly just as Haname appeared near them. She frowned a little. "Did you feel that?" She looked to Merrick and then tried to get to her feet. ~~~~~ "Well it's time to fight," Cassandra said with a smirk. If she was surprised by how Kasumi looked now or how strong she was, she didn't show it. As she had spoken, she took a step forward and and her bow appeared. The arrow she pulled out crackled with energy and she unleashed it to towards the rats. It struck one and it flew back, knocking into a second one. Amelia gave a small whistle as Nala appeared by her side again. Once again she could see and she had the odd taste of blood in her mouth. She made a face and shook her head.
