Mai was excited to begin working with her new mount. She patted the beast affectionately on its neck as she did her best to keep her balance. The odd swaying motion that the dragon made while walking was turning out to be hard for Mai to adjust to. She fumbled a little bit with her weapon, and when her mount started its charge for the target, she almost dropped it completely.

Mai almost wished she'd had the forethought to tie her hand to the weapon. That way she wouldn't feel like she was almost always on the brink of losing the thing. She did manage to tighten her grip a bit though.

The dragon seemed to slow its pace just slightly. Mai wondered at this, but they were still moving forward so she didn't try to push it. Thankfully she wasn't having too much trouble holding the weapon at this slow pace.
