That part is true...
I completely forgot about Marvel universe... things got kind of weird there...
Well then Colossus liked Wolverine... then hooked up with Northstar... and here I thought all those comics were just fan-fantasies...

It is official Marvel it's just a different universe, the Ultimate one to be precise.
There is a cool bit were Magnito is about to kill Woverine but Collosus fights though Magnitos powers just to sav Wolverine.

excaliburace Spiderman beat the crap out of everyone in Marvel vs. Capcom. And everyone beat the crap out of Spiderman in Marvel vs. Capcom... it all depends on the player... Speaking of versus what do you guys think of Capcom vs. Tatsunoko?? I think it's a awesome twisted of the new versus the old...

People today are naturally more violent and desire an outlet and game companies are naturally more greedy so they make games that the know the people will buy in return...
