Kiro nodded at her words. At sixteen, he didn't feel qualified to take on the role of a parent, but he didn't bother trying to explain such things to Dragonfly. He supposed people might see it as an unwillingness to try, whereas if Tsukai needed a parental figure later Kiro would be all too happy to provide it. But for now he was content with the brotherly/babysitterish role.
He smirked a little as she offered him the tuna sandwich. "I'm neko-jin," he said. "Meaning I'm part cat. Fish and milk are my eternal weaknesses." Still smiling he took it from her with a nod and a word of thanks. Taking a thoughtful bite from it, he turned back to where the Aerandir were playing. A mouse riding on a swimming raccoon's head was amusing enough, but the sight of Pueblo following them cautiously in case something were to happen amused him even more.
Tsukai stayed hunched down on Iniko's head, by now terrified of falling off and being sucked into the water. As they got closer to land, he decided he'd had enough - suddenly springing from Iniko's head and fluttering frantically - only just landing in water that was shallow enough for him, having to flail his wings a little to propel himself onto the shore, bedraggled and wet, shaking his waterlogged fur and feathers out vigorously.

"Aaw! Neko-chan!" she teased, grinning lopsidedly. She had noticed the cat in Kiro, having observed the tail, and of course, the ears were a hard feature to miss. She had seen cat people before, but had never really met one, until Kiro.
She smiled brightly, and bit into her own sandwich, though she made a sour face about doing it.
"Bleh," she said scowling and shaking her head, but sighing, "Eeeh... It has to get eaten though,"
She smiled ruefully, and continued chewing at the bread/tuna mix reaching into her basket once more for a root beer to drown away the taste with.
She couldn't claim it to be cold, but it got rid of the tuna taste, and that was good enough for her.
"Something to drink?" she offered, digging at the bottom of the basket, "There's sprite, coke, and root beer-- er. Well. I'm drinking the root beer. So scratch that. There's sprite and coke,"
She laughed sheepishly, and shook her head.
"They aren't cold though. Alas. If I had a carton of milk I'd offer that to you, Neko-chan, but..."
She had decided on the nickname in a moment of snap decision, and she hoped that he didn't mind being called it...
Iniko dog paddled her way after Tsukai, before bounding out of the water, and shaking violently, managing to soak the small gryphon once again. Gleefully she bounded up the beach to the awaiting picnic basket, her stomach grumbling loudly now.
First a playmate, then swimming, and now food! The perfect day!
She chirped and spun, prancing about to signal Pueblo and Tsukai to follow her, as she was sure that Dragonfly would have enough for all of them!

Kiro winced dramatically at the newly found nickname. Grinning, not minding in the slightest, he murmured, "Couldn't you have picked something more manly?" He then reached into the basket at the invitation, taking the coke with another mumble of thanks. Here he was consuming the food of a woman he'd never met before now - he'd best watch his manners!
Gwarwar!! Soaked again!! Tsukai's response to this was to chase the other gryphon, only half kidding with his peeping threats of revenge - Pueblo close behind them as they scooted towards the two guardians.
However, it didn't take Tsukai to notice Kiro was eating something, and who would he be if he wasn't willing to try anything once? So, he promptly hopped up onto Kiro shoulder and wedged himself into a position where he could pick at Kiro's sandwich - dodging the tuna and picking at the bread contentedly.
Kiro just watch the Aerandir for a moment in amazement, before looking up to Dragonfly with a broadly grin. "Can you believe this...?" he asked with a chuckle, indicating the thieving creature.

Dragonfly couldn't help but laugh, glad that she didn't have root beer in her mouth as a fit of giggles overtook her.
"Oh you want MANLY do you? Well then, Beefcake, I'd suggest you earn it!" she managed to speak sternly, but another fit of giggles overtook her, and she had to set her root beer down for fear of spilling it all over herself.
Iniko watched Dragonfly's odd behaviour, and decided to help herself to her own food. She jumped into Dragonfly's picnic basket, fishing out a bag of sunflower seeds, and dragging them with a large amount of effort to the edge, honking indiginatly and struggling to climb out with the heavy bag.
No amount of effort would allow her to get the thing out, however, and thus she settled herself to pecking the bag open, and eating the seeds that way.

It took a second for what she'd said to sink in. And when it did, he looked aside and blushed profusely. "I... I uhh... that's not what I meant... I mean..." He trailed off then, realising he wasn't getting anywhere fast - and so did the safest thing for the moment. Shut up and don't say anything else incriminating.
Oooooh, Kiro didn't seem to be offering any resistance to the fact his food was being stolen. Just as well! Tsu could get the rest more easily!!
Looking for a distraction, Kiro glanced across to find Pueblo. He then took his sandwich and tore the crusts off it and handed them to her. "Give these to Tsukai? He'll love you for it." He smiled quietly, embarassed, and reverting back to a certain shyness for the moment.
Pueblo grinned at this prospect, ignoring the fact Kiro seemed to be turning a funny red colour. She held out the crusts to Tsukai, trying to tempt him away from Kiro. "Suu!!"

Dragonfly had to take several moments to just, stop, giggling. But when she managed to stop the first time, she merely burst into a second set of giggles, wrapping her arms about her frame and trying to get ahold of herself.
"Oh dear... I'm sorry," she sniggered, the occasional giggle still escaping, "But you asked for that one, Neko-chan. Aah.. I haven't laughed like that in a long time..."
She smiled to him, and as a piece offering, pulled out a box of home made donuts.
"Here," she offered, "Home made donuts! Honey glazed or chocolate dip, your choice!"
She grinned to him again, and shook her head, gray wisps falling about her face, before looking to the gryphon stealing Kiro's lunch.
"Neh. Looks like just as much of a bandit as Iniko is. Speaking of whom-- where'd she go?"
She blinked, having no idea the gryphon had jumped into her basket, and Dragonfly had missed feeling the furry creature completely because of the oversized picnic basket.
Iniko was cracking sunflower shells, spitting them out and happily eating the seeds inside them, not another care in the world. Soon after food she'd be able to play again! And wouldn't it be fun!

Kiro continued to blush, watching as she continued to snigger. It hadn't been that funny had it? Or maybe it had...
Tsukai couldn't help but p***k his ears up at the sound of cracking seed shells. Oh glory be!! Seeds!!! With a cheerful peep he hopped away from Kiro and sped towards the basket, slipping into it - his tail the last to be pulled in like a slurped string of spaghetti.
Ignoring the offered donuts for a moment, and aware he was still a disturbing shade of red, Kiro moved towards the basket. "He'll eat everything if I don't get him," the neko-jin commented, opening the basket, and then pausing at the sight of both Tsukai and Iniko inside. "And I think I found your little one too," he added, a hint of a smile on his lips.

Dragonfly smiled sheepishly, setting the donuts down, her laughter now finished, though it had been funny while it lasted, and something she could call upon when she needed something to embarass the other with. Not that she'd EVER want to embarass him, or anything.
Okay. So Dragonfly was completely evil and mischievious. But hey, it was a good inside joke for the two at least.
Iniko chirped to Tsukai, happy to share her seeds with the other.
Aah. Spitz were so good!
She moved over and made more room for the other, so that Tsukai could have better access to the hole she had created, instead of starting a second, and possibly loosing some!
She blinked as Kiro peered at them, and she sat up, pawing up at him as if to say "No seeds for Kiro!" before falling back down on the bag, and cracking more shells.
Dragonfly giggled, and reached in to pull Iniko, and the bag of seeds out of the basket, before spreading some on the blanket in a pile for Iniko and Tsukai to chew.
"Silly girl," she cooed to Iniko, setting her down again.

Kiro couldn't help but smile a little more as Iniko pawed in his direction. He then watched as Dragonfly pulled the seeds and Aerandir out of the basket and spread the seeds out. Tsukai seemed to enjoy playing with the seeds perhaps more than eating them, rolling about for a few seconds and fighting with one, before picking it up and gnawing at it with his mousey teeth.
Absently, Kiro took a few of the nuts up and offered them to Pueblo. "Wanna try some?" He smiled again as she nodded and cracked one or two open for her and handing them over. "There you go - let me know if you like them so I can tell your mommy, okay?"

"Pueblo," Dragonfly said, now addressing the gryphon child, "If you'd like a donut you're allowed to have one, if it's alright with Neko-chan that is,"
She didn't want to offer the child something if Kiro didn't approve, after all it was he who had to deal with the child if she didn't take to sugar well.
Selecting a donut for herself, though she felt somewhat awkward doing so, she bit into it, tasting the chocolate glaze and feeling gleeful that they had turned out. It had been her first shot at making donuts on the island, and she had had to adapt to the differences of not having her electricaly run deep fryer as she did at home. But they had still turned out fine, so she was happy.
Iniko watched Tsukai for several moments, before reaching over and nibbling the other's tail gently, before taking several seeds into her mouth, and breaking their shells one at a time to get at the delicious seeds.

Kiro smiled as Dragonfly offered the donuts, nodding. "Go ahead Bobo," he said to the little girl encouragingly. "I betcha like them." Absently, he wondered what Fe would say to her girl hving such sweet sugary things - but never mind. It wasn't going to kill her to have junk food once in her life, surely. And if he remembered rightly from his readings, wolves ate pretty much anything. He glanced to Dragonfly with a smile. "She should be okay with it."
Assuming the previous offer still stood, Kiro also took one, biting into it and smiling. "These are good," he said after he'd swallowed it. "Did you make them?"
Tsukai jumped as Iniko nibbled on his tail. With a surprised peep he turned to see the gryphon was now chewing the nuts studiously. With a hop he jumped onto her head again and nestled there slightly, worn out from all the jumping around. He snuggled a little closer. Ahh... this was comfy...

Dragonfly giggled, and held the box out for Pueblo, allowing her to select between honey glazed and chocolate dipped, before turning to answer Kiro's question.
"Yes, I made them myself," she beamed, proud of her baking skills.
She didn't cook anywhere near as much back in Durem, finding it easier to feed her family with instant pizzas-- not that that was good for them. She did make dinner on occasion.
Iniko settled herself on the blanket, chirping with happiness, though she too was beginning to feel sleepy..

Kiro smiled, watching as Pueblo timidly bit into the chocolatey donut she had selected, and seemed to enjoy it, wolfing down the rest greedily. He was also amused by Tsukai's apparent sleepiness. Deciding suddenly, Kiro stood. "I think it's time I got these two off to bed. Tsukai's looking sleepy at least." He crouched down and scooped Tsukai up from Iniko's head and held out his hand for Pueblo, who grabbed it with her sticky donuty hand. Kiro pretended not to notice.
"Thanks for the great time Dragonfly. We should do it again sometime - Tsukai and Iniko seem to get along really well."
With a parting wave with his free hand, Kiro set off with his two charges back to their 'home', hopefully to get them both off to sleep early tonight.

Dragonfly smiled to as the other stood up and decided to go along on his way. Dragonfly didn't know how, or when the time had decided to go by so quickly, but it had.
"Yes, I'd say it's time to get Iniko home to bed as well," she smiled, beginning to pack up her things, and cleaning up the seeds she had spilled on her blanket.
Iniko yawned, and let out a tired honk, lifting her paw and rubbing her beak with it to say goodbye to Tsukai and Pueblo, before she flopped back, and feel asleep, paws in the air, belly exposed.
"Silly goose," Dragonfly giggled, scooping up Iniko and folding the blanket as best she could with one hand.
"We'll definately have to do this again some time Neko-chan," she said, beaming, "I'm sure that Iniko would hate me if I didn't bring her to see Tsukai some more. So yes, again in the future,"
She stuffed the blanket into the basket, and now, more awkward than ever with having to carry both the gryphon, and the basket, made her own way home, waving awkwardly as she went.

Sy was completely frantic. Sydney had declined to help look for Delta, confident the little princess wouldn't wander far for fear of dirtiness, and would return any moment for the comforts of home- besides, it was a "tiny a** island." In response to Sy's spasms, she had laid on the couch with a novel about a woman who murdered her husband.
So now Sy was half-running and half-walking towards the centre. Nyxa hadn't been around lately, and Delta wasn't overly fond of Osu, so she figured the little gryphon had gone to visit Orian. Sydney's talk of a father figure probably made her little girl want to go see him more... or something. Frankly, she didn't know what made her daughter leave, nor did she care at the moment: she was consumed with finding her first.
In her frenzy, Sy had even forgotten to get fully dressed or put up her hair which was currently black with the waning moon.
