ProtoXtreme Thorn Jaxx Loyde okay, sorry for the second question in a few days [still new and wanting to get everything done right in one shot] So on topic of bloodlines, and clans, if it is a made up one I have to get permission, but what about ones that are so far [as in to my knowledge] unused such as Jinton [Swift release] and Ranton [Storm Release] do I still need to register it with the rest of the crew? I just want to be sure of what all is what so I am not even more confused latter on and wanting to make a new person, or if possible the one I am doing now to live in Sunagakure Which do you want? The nature kekkei genkai, Ranton. I was doing some research for the person I am making called Sandābādo Bōfū, and thought it would be good to use this one for basing him off of the Native American legend of the "Thunderbird" cause I was gonna see if the Village hidden in the sand would allow me to join there.

We can talk about Ranton. :3

Ranton should be exclusive to Kumo
kthx
and there is no Swift, but there is Vibration Release. Which is similar I suppose... but only 2 people have it, and ONLY 2 people.
Well for now.

Can we just abolish that rule in the Approvals forum that says that you cannot make jutsu that are even remotely similar to existing ones?
And yeah, this is on a slightly personal note for the jutsu that I tried to submit that absorbs memories, but there is an age old adage that there is more than one way to skin a cat and I think that if there are multiple paths that could lead to the same goal, those paths should be allowed. Let us not forget that our main goals here are to have fun and to not let people create things that are out of control. If somebody wants to create a jutsu that has a logical explanation to it, we shouldn't shoot it down unless it is 90% the same as another. I shoot fireballs from my mouth that do damage .... I make fireballs rain from the sky that do damage .... Both of those are jutsu and roughly the same thing, but they are cannon. I don't think it will ruin the sanctity of the clan system if a few clans can pull of the same tricks using different methods.

As for you personal jutsu the issue was only partially due to the similarity to an existing technique. The larger issue appeared to be that it was not within the bounds of the Soma clan.

Yeah, I get that, but I have seen it happen on others as well. I just think we need to get back to the roots of having fun and being creative rather than being constraining and limiting.

The "Training and Levels" thread says you can lower the number of checks you need to make during stages of jutsu learning but it doesn't exactly elaborate on how you can determine the number of checks you have to do. Can someone explain that?

I think the whole guild should follow a system of one roll per post, it make everything neater and keeps it easier for people to follow a 'minimum line requirement' I've seen some villages have members that post four times trying to practice a technique or jutsu, their posts for ten rolls shorter then one of mine own for a singular roll, and the end effect is that they still get the same amount of experience as someone in konoha for much less work. I also think a system like this will keep all the villages equal, having konoha's not falling behind the other villages anymore because our rolls per post are singular. It also keeps other villages from getting over powered. Thanks for considering my suggestion!~

Allow me to explain about this concern... They still have to fill that giant post out. That said, I really dislike people making rolls they don't have while training. I am alright with, say for example a Lv 10 character having two Attack Turns make two attempts at success for training per post. Notably, they also make "two posts". This is what people call a post within a post... Basically, it is the lines equivalent of two posts per post (and they DO do 8 lines and put dividers between "posts"). ...I just personally don't like people rolling the max number of 20-sided dices per post and basically doing rolls they don't have per post. But, I am from a previous generation of the guild, when we obey Attack Turns a tad more strictly. Also in terms of isolated training, Tai brings up a fair point. It's called 'isolated' time for a reason and forcing people to do more post "frames" than they need is just pointless. That said, I want all of you doing Training - 10 successes training - to continue to follow "how many Attack Turns" you have rules. It is for Jutsu - and only for Jutsu! - the latter should be happening.

I think he does the same, goes by attack turns.

1. When creating a custom technique for a clan, if its a technique from a game, book or movie/show. Do I have to reword the name so that it isn't the exact name of the technique from where I got it from?
2. Also is it ok to use a name for my custom clan from a popular culture (game, book, show etc) but I'm only using the name while everything else about it is completely made up?
3. How many custom techniques can a custom clan have? What is the max? and min?

How many custom techniques can a custom clan have? What is the max? and min? I dunno if your questions have been answered via PM, but here we go haha. 1. If the technique is a straight copy off a game/book/movie/etc it doesn't sound quite original. It might still work with your clan of course but depending on where you got it from it could also work as a guild wide technique (which will have a much higher chance of being passed, and will be much easier to pass). It would be better if you are instead inspired by the technique and rework it to fit your clan. 2. What's the name? If it would be confusing, I'd go against it. 3. Check the Approvals subforum. There should be a guide there razz
