Gerard looked at the picture.
"So.....if we happen to find something like this here, we do what? We don't even know if they are researching that virus here. Go through the research log."

Jake started moving and looked back at Mizar. "What happened to the guard?" He asked. As he kept moving Jake watched for any signs of anyone.

[RPC: Mizar; Location: Island Aqua-Facility, maintenance section]

Mizar looked at Jake and he passed by, walking down the hall past him.
"I knocked him out. We can't very well drag a limp body with a hurt leg with us, now can we? Let's go."

[RPC: Gerard McGraw; Location: Island think-tank, school]

Gerard handed the picture back to Oricai as they approached an elevator. He looked at the terminal; there was no button, but a keyhole.
"Oricai, this must be the elevator to the labs below. But it needs a key; I guess not all of the think-tank members were allowed down there when this school was being used. We don't have a key."
"Rrrrrrrrr......"
Gerard spun around; the lights lining the hall ceiling turned off in succession. They were now in complete darkness. The pattering of the feet of the undead came closer, the echoes seemingly stronger with the absence of light.
"Oricai....a flashlight!"
Gerard moved back, but his back touched the elevator. There was one hall to his left, the zombies coming from the other hall in front of him. The left hall was the only way to go.

"The helmet!" Oricai responded.
Gerard pulled on his helmet, and played with the switches and dials on the earpiece. Suddenly through the visor, the dark hall become illuminated with a pale green light. He could see about 100 feet down the hall, a horde of zombies rushing toward them.
"Night vision; got it! Alright, let's move it!"
Gerard ran down the hall to his left, firing short burst from the rifle on semi-auto. Shooting them in the head was hard while running from them, and because their heads bobbed back and forth loosely like feathers in the wind, he took to shooting their legs. The ones in the front stumbled, making the others behind them play a failed game of leap-frog. The ones in the front couldn't get back up very well, as the ones further back rushed ahead carelessly, wanting fresh blood.
Oricai fired several times with his pistol, hitting them expertly in the head; his virus powers were very helpful. However, no matter how hard things got, Gerard would never bond with any virus. If he was dying or bitten, he would shoot himself in the head to guarantee he didn't become a zombie. Besides, leaving the responsibility of shooting your reanimated body to your friend would be cruel.

Gerard continued running, stopping occassionally to turn around fire several bursts from the assault rifle at the zombies. Lorelli was farther ahead, and Oricai was between them both.
Gerard fired another shot, and was met with an empty click. He released the magazine from the gun, and pulled out another from his belt pouch. He tried ot not pay attention to the pulsing red his suit was now colored.
"Oricai, any place to hole up yet? It looks to me like these halls are endless, Scooby Doo-chase style."

Oricai didn't respond for a moment, but then called back: "This office here; quick, get inside!"
Oricai pulled open the door, clicking his tongue; when you're being chased by zombies, the annoying thing is to have you escape route's door open toward you, making you move back and closer to the oncoming horde, then having to slip inside. Oricai didn't complain though; he slipped inside, and Gerard ran in right after him, pulling the door closed behind him.

"Ok," Oricai said leaning against the door. "Look at me." He pointed to different places on his helmet. "This is night vision, heat vision, infection vision. And this is to open the visor."

Kristen limped down the halls only to realize she was moving in circles.
She had to find help, there had to be other survivors around.
Her leg stung a lot the pain was numbing as she continued on, though that wasn't a good sign.
She was losing to much blood and she had to fins something to help stop it.

[RPC: Gerard McGraw; Location: Island think-tank, school]

Gerard nodded, and switched one of the dials on the helmet. He turned his head to the door he was ohlding shut. He could see at least forty zombies, all light up with the vision.
"Okay, infection vision gives us one very helpful hint; they're zombies. No we're sure!"
Gerard switched the helmet back to night vision, and held up his assault rifle with one hand, his back pressing against the door.
"So, any ideas?"

Oricai looked around; there were no vents or windows. He examined the desk plaque.
"This says "School Overseer". This is like a principle I guess, the person who oversaw the schooling matters. Other than that, there is nothing." He paused, looking at the desk. "Wait a second. Hold that door closed for a bit longer."

Gerard's brow was dripping a single bead a sweat. "I'm trying, but there are a whole lot of there, man."
Oricai pressed a hidden switch under the desk near the chair, and the desk slid aside on a short rail, revealing a trapdoor.
"Got it. Alright, let's go!"
Oricai broke the lock with his hand, and pulled open the hatch. He motioned for Gerard to go down the ladder, leading into darkness.
"You go first. In case they break through the door, I'll stand a better chance of keeping them off until we seal the hatch again."
Gerard didn't complain; he ran for the ladder, and descended into the floor below. Oricai watched the door for several seconds, then followed Gerard. Just as the frail wood of the door splintered, he closed the hatch, using his super strength to crudely bend the metal door into an unopenable position.

Gerard went down the ladder; it seemed like it went forever. The ladder was bolted to the a side of a tube-shaped pit, wide ebough for an average man to just barely fit. Oxygen seemed limited, and it was dark. Gerard was earing gloves, but he could feel the moisture in the air. The walls were plated with steel near the top opening, but as he descended it was just moist rock.
"Hey Oricai, this is really frustrating. We've been moving for about five whole minutes."
Gerard put his foot down for the next rung, but he met no bar. His hands slipped, and he fell down the shaft.
"Aaaagghhh!! Oooff!"
Gerard hit solid ground, having landed on his back. He groaned and winced, and looked back up. Oricai was coming down, careful for the drop. He looked next to him; the remain of the broken ladder lay in a twisted heap, all rusted.
"Oricai, we're not in the labs or anything."
They were in a small, enclosed cavern of rock; there was a small light bulb attached to the wall, the wiring loosely taped to the rock. He increased the night vision's power; he could see a door several feet to his left.
"Oricai, we have an exit."

[I don't know what Lorelli is doing; that's up to you. She could be following them, or whatever. I didn't specifically mention her, so yeah.]

Gerard approached the door, and looked for a knob or handle. It wasn't even a door; it was a plate of steel. Rubble lay at the foot of the door.
"Oricai, I think I know what this is. The school overseer needed an emergency escape route to the labs from his office; thus the ladder and this passage. I'm betting that the lab area is beyond the wall."
Oricai knocked on the plating. He looked at Gerard.
"And when the school was closed up, the ladder bottom was removed, and the entrance originally here was blocked with a wall of rock, and the metal was casually placed over. But the rock is broken; something tried to get through here, but gave up."
Gerard nodded, and looked around the small rock cavern. "But what was it that tried to get through? It couldn't have gone back up...the desk and trapdoor were still intact when we got to it."
Oricai responded: "Who's to say it wouldn't have destroyed it on the way down in the first place?"
Gerard paused, going over the confused situation in his mind.
"So what you're saying, is that some creature came down here, without making a mess, used brute force to destroy the rock wall blocking the original entrance, but for some reason stopped?"
Oricai nodded and smiled from the corner of his mouth. "Yes."
Gerard frowned, and looked around. "So maybe it went back up. Maybe the steel wall was broken, it went through the lab or was caught, and the steel wall replaced. They never bothered with the rock?"
Oricai spoke: "Well, I don't think it went back up. I'm thinking that someone else subdued it, and replaced the steel wall, but was too lazy to repair the rock wall."
Gerard nodded, and sighed. "Got it. All in all, there's some super-strong smart creature running around?"
Oricai tilted his head to the side. "Probably. Whatever it is, let's not worry about it. We wated time discussing it, and lost time to look for Naiya."
He punched the steel wall, and tore through it like paper. Through it, the lab halls were easily seen.
"Well, that was easy." Oricai stepped through, Gerard behind him.

[Whew; just putting that all in the same color.]
