Then I was betrayed.
What are you guys talking about?
I'm curious now. Wait, someone actually plays Magic here besides me? *dies* :1 *raises hand* My parents collected the cards from 1993 to 1995. I only play with those cards; the new ones are ridiculous. P: Some of the new ones aren't completely ridiculous. O: Some of them are quite helpful and can turn the tables in a single turn.

Like making a black deck worthwhile. Older cards of the black deck usually were punishing to to person playing the card rather to the opponent or it hurt both of them. Now they're more worthwhile to have in a deck because of the way they destroy anything that's not black and the way their zombies can easily be reanimated from the discard pile. Some even have deathtouch. 7/7s were harder to get, if I remember correctly. O: My sister's deck is highly offensive with her fire and black destroying cards.

Case in point: The Power Nine The Moxen (Mox Pearl, Jet, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald) Completely ridiculous mana acceleration. Ancestral Recall: 3 cards for 1 blue mana? Sign me up! I don't think I even need to mention stuff like Black Lotus and Timetwister.

I had a band teacher that played Magic. Went to tournaments, too.
He told us a story before about a match, and me and my friends joked that it was like an episode of Yu-Gi-Oh
