ok enough of the sky is falling
against the likes of Tau and IG power weapons are overkill, but cost of min 20ppm hurts...
SM can plasma them to death, expect Sunwolf pattern Long Fangs...
BA melee style are hurt by NFW negating both armor and fnp. Shooty ones just plasma it.
CSM will need every obliterator... again.
Demons are hurt so much that I cant even state...
Necrons are hurt by all those NFW, and lack good ap in numbers.
Luckily they will get new dex soon, probably.
Ork hordes are hurt by all the incinerators and worse, purifying flames,
Bikenobz find worthy match in allocate-a-wound paladins.
Eldar and Dark Eldar get enough shuriken/splinter firepower to be at least equal if not superior in salvo exchange. And wyches ignore power weapons "missed me" ninja
Sisters have enough mech firepower with prayers boost to hold their own.
And they are basic 11 ppm, which means loads of bodies/bolters.
They are amazingly still comeptitive despite very old dex.
Nids... not sure, T6'r'us is quite vulnerable to strength boosted NFW, but still eat small marine squads for breakfast, and baby bugs are mauled by stormbolters, incinerators, and purifying flamers...

It's not looking all that bad, then again I don't play to win at all cost.

It is quite overpowered if I'm honest, and I love GKs a lot, but Terminators as Troops? :/
Coteaz at 100 Pts?
Needs some editing first.

yeah, definate editing work, and i am a fan of GK's myself, even if ive never collected them, although, with new plastic models, i might give them a go, if the codex isnt over powered that is..

This far in there won't be a lot of change or editing going on, the book is already printed and will soon be up for pre-order. Though this all shouldn't come as a surprise really, GW always had a tendency to overdo certain codex books either on accident or on purpose.

indeed, its already March and in April GK hit the stores...
I am afraid given record of playtesting by GW, we will be served quite gimmicky powergamers dex, on a par with BA and SW, even if not at IG level... (cough, xx points Chimeras everywhere, 5 heavy weapon squads per platoon, Vendettas 3 linked lascanons at xxx points)
edit: removed points costs

Bless the community and their bitching. Don't like it don't play it. Simple as that. Just like the Dark Eldar we'll get a flood of people playing Grey Knights for now, but that will soon ebb into a trickle or at the very least, a more normal flow. Chances are though that many old Grey Knight players will dust off their armies, toss in a few Chibi-hawks, some exo-armour and they're all set.

If looking for utter cheese, look up a guy named Goatboy on Bell of the Lost Souls, he's the guy who is a staunch WAAC player and will no doubt s**t out a few special lists that exploit everything exploitable to the fullest.

One thing I like is eliminating allied inquisitors in the IG armies, they led to such hilarious results like culexus running alongside chimera full of IG psykers for assault 10+ weapon...

Kids who are inexperienced using this is still challenging. Its like a point and shoot army. D: That ain't good in the hands of pros.

all we can do is wait and see now - and pray the Emperor will guide the GW to actually playtest this

As Blodwynn said before, it is too late for that. The codex is already printed up and ready to be shipped around the world.

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if it were an early playtest version, and GW 'leaked' it themselves.

The purpose of leaking it would be to get all the uberpowergamers thinking it'll be overpowered, and as such they'll preorder as much as they can, earning GW lotsa shinies.

Then of course, when it's released, it'll be the correct version of the rules in the Codex, which would be much less OP and maybe even somewhat balanced. ^^

Games Workshop stopped sharing play test files outside of Nottingham for the most part due to the playtesters sharing it with the community, which resulted in a lot of backlash from them upon seeing some of the things the design team had in mind for said upcoming release.
