No. No, he did not like this. Not one bit.

JK pulled the scarf more tightly around his face. It was the only good thing about this... cat costume, aside from at least being completely covered. But why did it include a tail? The infernal thing was lashing about at his bad mood and JK couldn't figure out how to control it!

And where was he, anyway? The strange surroundings, the humiliating costumes.

This was beginning to look suspiciously like a field trip.

Sighing heavily, tail still lashing in annoyance, the Cheshire stalked down the path, glaring left and right at the strange sights and sounds.

The talking sign was almost normal comparatively. Unfortunately, it insisted he go and examine the trees. To what purpose? He tried to fool himself by saying that the sooner the task was finished, the sooner he could go home.

As Miyu continued her search for another tree she found that it was way way too easy to get lost in these woods but she kinda expected that and knew if she just wandered around she'd find a tree eventually... hopefully...

So she took this time to start really exploring her enviroment her curiosity plain to see as she skittered from thing to thing and even had a brief staring contest with a pare of eyes which the fact that she was being watched by a strange pare of eyes likely should have worried her but strangely it didn't least that particular pare didn't

When she finally had her fill of exploring the area she turns and continues on down the path

The little hatter found herself faced with quite the grumpy and slightly upset tree. It crossed its arms and Sw33t-Cha0s stared at it like a child discovering some big secret. "That is terrible of them! Yes, so terrible. But I am not mean." The mad hatter paused, tilting her head. "Well I can be. But only if they deserve it. Little insects that get in the way." She giggled, moving closer to the tree.

With a 'whoosh', Sw33t-Cha0s found herself sprawling on the ground and an angry tree informing her that he had told her to stay away. Sw33t-Cha0s licked her lips, rolling into a crouch as she grinned dangerously at the tree.

"Oh what fun I could have with you! Fire~ Fire burning down the tree~" She sing-songed to the tree as she got to her feet and danced off to hunt down another tree.

Ace (as she imagined others would refer to her, even though her actual assigned card was neither an Ace nor even a Hearts card -- she was in spirit and this was the internet so who would know otherwise?) found herself surprisingly delighted by the somber colors of the Tulgey Woods. The sort of honky noises that occasionally emitted from the trees surrounding her were just as she imagined they would be, and although there weren't as many flowers as she had always imagined, the game did a fine job in its depiction.

Perhaps this would be enjoyable after all.

She breezed through the character generator, choosing a look that was pretty much an idealized version of herself. The thinness of the puppet base appealed to her in a way she didn't want to think about for too long. It took her a few moments of reading through the pop-up tutorials before she finally made her way towards the yellow exclamation checkpoint.

Tucking the fragment into his coat pocket, JK looked for another tree to examine. He came upon one with a myriad of signs hanging from its branches. None of the signs actually seemed to point to anything, though.

At least it didn't do or say anything.

The rage of the willow continued for what seemed like an endless period before laughter could be heard cackling through the forest in mocking response. Newbies misfortune indeed. Well Envy was nothing if not entertaining, at least at a distance. Better to be laughed at than ignored!

She was beginning to think she'd have to get up and somehow fight the thing herself. With what and how she didn't know. She really didn't have any fighting skills, at least not that she knew of. Her stats were basically nil. But luckily before such decisions need've been made, a pair of sturdy hands grasped her arms from behind and carried her away from the trees AOE of destruction.

Adjusting her now ruffled attire straight, she turned to thank the hatter with huffed exasperation. It was a stern reminder of how untough she was. She'd better shape up quickly if she was going to survive, even with the help of a reluctant gentlemen.



While awaiting the Hatters response she heard a voice over her shoulder. "Um, well I haven't any idea!" She responded somewhat sheepishly to the toothy-grinned tree. Two bark-fisted knuckle sandwiches, for all her luck.

The tree's smile widened in response. Apparently it wasn't much of a riddle as it was a excuse to show her something naughty. Slowly the twisted tree unfurled its twiggy arms to reveal a pair of damaged spectacles as the tree giggled its only reply. She sent a side-eyed glace to Partidge to check if his glasses were accounted for. She was growing ever more scared and suspicious of the greenery here. Wouldn't put it past her to add clepto to their list of offenses.

She called out, gesturing toward the mangled pile of glass and looped metal in the arms of the tree.

Last thing this would be party needed was the dumb leading the blind.

Wonderland? Alice AI? Job class? Card battles? Whoa... wait a minute. Did she say this was supposed to be part of a dream? Was this part of the secret behind Amityville's success? Since when in the name of Jack did people share their dreams in such an elaborate manner anyway? SugarPuss contemplated the many questions she had in her head, staying put for now as she took in the sight of the multi-coloured trees that made up the Tulgey Woods.

This was all too complicated to be just a dream. In fact, it was unlike any of the dreams she had prior and given that it occurred right after her recent transfer to Amityville, she was pretty sure that the academy had a hand in this one way or another. Perhaps they were testing out a virtual dreamscape that would be used as a social platform of sorts like Critter.

Bah. Who knows. Anyways, it seemed like she was stuck in this game for now till whatever time she woke up so she might as well try to make the best out of it. Perhaps things would become a little clearer when she actually ran into another person who knew his/her way around in this vastly different world.
