{It's fine. I somehow imagine Riley to be rather forgiving anyway. XD}
Mala blinked a couple times in shock. "Hold on...so you aren't mad about having your body taken for awhile? Where were you while he was in your body to begin with? What happened?!?!"

Riley looked back at Mala before looking at the ceiling and scratching the back of his head. "It was kinda like if I had the reigns to a horse or something, and then there was this voice that was all 'I'll be taking that now!'" he said immitation of Van. "and then it was like someone stole the reigns from me so I wasn't in control and I could only watch." he said looking down a little sad. "I was kinda scared at first, and mad too, but when I realized Mr. Van wanted to watch out for you and get free, I was okay with it!" he said brightening up. "Besides, I knew you'd find a way to get me back, sis!"
((I feel that an elongated 'Awwwwww....' is somehow appropriate here.))

Mala grinned broadly, forcing herself to get up and walk over to Riley. She gave him a big hug and one of her sisterly smiles, happy to hear such a thing from him once more.

Riley just continued to smile as he hugged his sister back.
Van scratched his nose a bit as he looked away from the sappy scene. He was happy for the pair, but it made him feel out of place. Feeling that he was no longer needed, he quietly slipped out of the room to leave.

"Hold it, thiefy-boy!" Mala called out, seeing Van try to leave from the corner of her eye. She still held onto Riley as she said, "You owe us for putting Riley as well as myself through all that danger. Even if it wasn't intentional, I want retribution!"

Van flinched and stopped in his tracks before turning back around to look at Mala. "I'm already planning on pummeling the demon and chewing out Atius. What more do you want from me?!"
((Speaking of Atius, I still need to draw him in all his apparent chubbiness. XD ))

"I want to know why you're going alone and trying to act the grumpy loner right now." Mala said rather bluntly, grinning at him like an ingenious idiot kid hero in your steriotypical shounen anime.
{I wawnt to see dat. biggrin }

"What, you want to be the bystanders to a battle of god versus demon? I can't guarantee your safety, you know that, right?" Van said raising an eyebrow. It was a perfectly acceptable excuse he didn't have to break down and admit that he was going to miss the company. It was a bit of a scary thought that he was growing soft, but he couldn't keep his life of a thief and be a babysitter could he?

"Well, we've got no home to return to. Plus, I want to see..." Mala started, covering Riley's ears before she would continue. "..that perverted b*****d get whats coming to him." After she was finished speaking that one bit of profanity, she removed her hands from Riley's ears. "Plus, I'm a hot girl. I thought protagonists liked having hot girls as sidekicks."

"Thief, remember? Didn't think I qualified for protagonist." Van said with a smirk as he put his hands in his pockets. "Besides, I'm also going to chew out your god. Sure you wanna see that blood bath?"

"I probably already pissed him off eternally for getting you released. Although it's a shame, I can't honestly say that I have a reason to remain as part of the church since his Holiest Temple and City were destroyed by a rampaging demon and that I do not have enough of a holy body to speak for him either." Mala said with a shrug. "Besides, protagonists come in all shapes and sizes."

Van just grinned slyly. "Well, either way, not much I can do about it if you insist on following me around. Just so you know what you're getting yourself into." he warned.
"Does this mean we get to go on an adventure, sis?!" Riley sort of bounced on the bed eagerly as he looked back up at Mala with a pair of big shining eyes of excitement. He didn't really understand everything the pair was talking about, or what they were talking about while Van was in control, but he somehow pulled out enough to know there would be traveling and action involved. Which, when put together, equaled adventure.

"We've got nowhere else to go, so why not?" Mala said to Van before looking at Riley. "Mhmm, we're going on an adventure~" she said in a sing-song voice. "Of course, we're getting you a weapon and teaching you how to fight at the earliest opprotunity! I'm not risking you being alone anymore if you can't defend yourself in a fight!"

"Cool!" Riley said hopping up excitedly. "Oo, I wonder what I should get? Maybe a sword, or a lance, or..." he went on, listing weapon after weapon for some time.
"Lemme guess, you expect me to teach him, don't you?" Van said flatly, ignoring Riley while he was off in his own world of epic adventure and heroism.

"I'll let you pick the reward if you do." Mala replied easilly. "I've still got plenty of money on me, if you want me to buy you something. Or if you want some money in itself, I can offer that to." she offered, pretty much assuming that Van would only want something to do with money as a reward for training her brother - if he did do so, of course.
