Moya looked up at him, sighing and then looking back down at the food she was cooking. "Sore and scared. Nik I don't understand how to do this. I never thought this would happen, never. I didn't know my parents were working on something like that. Why didn't Conner say anything?" Her mind went to Cain's face and shivered. She plated two plates of food, waiting for the food to cool while she turned things off so the house wouldn't burn down. She looked up at Nik and started to cry. "I'm scared Nik, I don't know how to handle this."

Setting the glass down he pulled her to him, wrapping his arms tight around her. How he wished he could kill Cain all over again, go back and gotten them home sooner, kept his grip on Shilo. Anything to change what happened so he could take away her pain. But he couldn't, and now he had to help her. "I know Moya, I know. I didn't think about any of this either and I should have. Just so I could have kept you prepared." Sighing he rested his cheek on her hair, squeezing her in a hug as he thought. "But we'll get through this, I promise. I'm going to help you with all I can until you adjust and even after. We're going to get it even if it kills me." The problem was where did they start?

She continued to cry while he held her, feeling safe in his arms. She shouldn't have gone after Shilo, she should have let Nik go first, maybe then it would have been safer. She turned her head to the food and sighed, gently moving away from him and picking up a plate, jumping onto the counter and grabbed a fork, starting to eat. "I want to be able to at least control when I shift, so I don't have to worry about doing it just suddenly and not have to worry about if I can shift back or not."

He ignored his plate as he watched her, studying her face. He knew she was thinking the same as he was. Last night things should have gone differently. "We can work on that soon. For now...I need to go take a run. I'll be back in a little while, stay here with Shilo." Kissing her softly on her forehead he went out the door and locked it behind him. Running towards the woods and shifting, refusing to stop.

Moya sighed and finished her plate of food and putting her dishes in the sink. She looked at Nik's plate before picking it up and eating a few things off it and throwing away the rest. She cleaned up the dishes and put them away before going up to Shilo's room. She had woken up but stayed quiet. Moya picked Shilo up and sat in the rocking chair, humming things to her while she rocked. "I love you Shilo."
Shilo clung to her mom and rested her head on her chest, still thinking about yesterday as well. Cain smelled so much like daddy, and she was sure it was a family member. She soon figured out though that anyone who could shift like her and daddy smelled almost the same. Now mommy kind of smelled like it too, but different in a way.

A few hours later Nik came back, everything burning now. Locking the door behind him he whistled so Moya and Shilo knew he was home, grabbing a towel and taking a shower. The workout had done what it was supposed to, now it was time to smell clean again. Finishing up he changed into black pants and a t-shirt, finding Moya and Shilo in the nursery and watching them from the doorway.

When Nik came back Moya was feeding Shilo. They both looked at him and Moya smiled while Shilo waved but didn't let go of her food. Moya moved Shilo about and held up a hand to Nik.

He smiled at that and came forward, taking Moya's hand. But instead of pulling her up he kissed the back of her knuckles, meeting her eyes before pulling her to him even with Shilo in her arms, kissing her softly. "Well this isn't the typical sight that a man likes to see when he comes home."

Moya chuckled and kissed him back, moving her dress around so she was covered again. "Well maybe its something you should get used to when you come home." She kissed him again and looked down at Shilo.
Shilo moved and a little in her mom's arms so she was sitting up now, holding up her hands to her dad.

Nik grinned and tugged her dress slightly so it was even, lifting Shilo out of her arms and kissing her head. "And hello to you too. Are you having fun with Mommy?"

Shilo nodded and giggled a little, looking back at her mom with a smile.
Moya kissed her forehead and then looked up at Nik. "So how was your run? Did you find something to eat?" She knew she would have to start running too so she would get used to her other form, so now would be a good time to ask questions.

He smiled and held Shilo so she was above his hip while in his arm. "I didn't hunt Moya, I just ran. And it was good, helped clear my head a little bit." He knew she would have to start soon, but Shilo would too. "I'll take you both sometime." He looked at Shilo. "But we need to work on controlling your nose before we lose you to a pack of bunnies."

Shilo turned a red, her first blush, and giggled.
Moya chuckled and nodded. "Alright, sounds good to me." She looked at the time and sighed to herself. "Would you like some lunch love?"

He was about to say no when his stomach growled in protest. Busted. "That would be great." Smiling at Shilo's blush he tapped her nose with the tip of his finger, giving her stomach a light squeeze to tickle her.

Shilo giggled and grabbed his hand to push him away. "No."
Moya almost turned to go cook some food but when Shilo spoke she froze, turning around with a really big smile on her face. "Did she just speak?"
