Jen stopped... He couldn't play anymore... it wasn't cheering him up... he let the pipe fall down again and wiped off his face... then he looked down and smothed his fur and polished his skull... then he had an idea!! He Whipped the string off his neck and put it down on the sofa... then he grabbed up a cushion cover that was lying on the ground and started to dust the place... he wanted it to shine... it could shine he knew it could... he was dusting the mirror when he stopped and stared at his own reflection... That's me... Jen... The Jen with friends... Blu and Isto and Wuto... No friends that were girls... no girl friend... Jen... the brown skull monkey... he continued dusting the mirror...

Jen finished dusting the room... then he slowly walked over to the light switch... he stood there looking around the dark room... then he flipped the switch... the lights came on with such suddenness that Jen threw a paw up over his eyes until they started to get used to the light... after about thirty seconds he squinted and looked around the room... the cushions needed tidying... Jen tidyd the cushions.. thinking as he did it that this was the Sofa Isto was always on... reading that book... the House of the scorpion... In all his thoughts Jen didn't realise that he had Put a cushion over his pipe...

Jen finished pushing all the couch cushions back into their places, and in the process just suceeded in hiding his pipe all the better... He knew that Isto would just come and mess up the couch when he sat on it... but that didn't matter... It could be straightend now... then Jen remembered the time that he and Diro found the hole in the floor... and then had gone down inside and found the rats... Isto had saved him... Jeez... he smacked himself in the forehead, and then felt his skull to make sure he hadn't cracked it... He needed to stop thinking about Isto... Isto had new friends now... friends that he could be with in his new form... Jen pushed the sofa back so he could see the floorboard that Diro had gotten his tail stuck under... it was still there...

He lifted up the board and looked down into the hole... it seemed a lot smaller than it had... but then... he had bee just an infant then... it'd been that long since he last saw Diro... Diro was now always with Tou... who was Jen always with... he knew the answer to that.. the same people that were here in the Hq right now... nobody... he wished Isto was there.... Dang! there he was thinking about Isto again... he really needed to stop that... he looked down into the hole and saw something... he leaned down and dropped into the hole.... it was a little novelty flashlight... one of the ones from the 'adventurer gear' that keppit had helped him make... A tear came to his eyes and before he knew it he was crying again...

Jen reached up and pulled himself out of the hole with no problem... he was very muscular when he was using his muscles... then he put the sofa back and walked out of the room with his little novelty flashlight... he went into the next room and didn't even bother to turn on the light... he knew that it would be just as dusty in there as it had been in Isto's den... He just shined hiss little flashlight around.... it wasn't much to see by and the only light that was in this room was the light from the Den... If anybody showed up... then they'd think that there was someone in there.... but there wasn't.... just a strightened sofa and a forgotten Twei pipe under a cushion...

Jen shined his light on a chair... he wasn't sure which room this was but he went over and sat on the chair... then he turned his light off and sat there in the darkness.... he could hear all the noises in the place... he wondered how long it would take someone to find him here in the dark....

Jen gets up from his lone chair and decides that it's time for him to go home and sort though his thoughts... As he treked out the door... he was too tired to remember that the Twei Pipe that up until now had always been around his neck , was now lying in the Den under a cushion on Isto's favorite sofa... It was a long walk back to Kepp's Cabin... smile
