((Alan is heading up. Alex went out. Legion is at the top of the building.))

"If you feel for it, you can probably already feel its general direction. Don't antagonize any Crossover creatures unless they're being a direct danger to someone, by the way." Alex looked at the point where L.A. cut off into a purplish stone that marked the line clearly - end of L.A., start of Crossover's natural ground.

((Hehe. Corrected. I meant to write Alex, but that's not what I ended up doing.))

"Okay, I'll remember both of those facts," Paul replied, and then fell quiet for a moment, trying to delve into his magical sense. Surprisingly, it was easy. His sight almost visibly dimmed as his mind switched over to heavier reliance on magical things. While cars and people became harder to see, Paul could feel Alex without looking at him. Crossover creatures were like flashlights, and were surprisingly easy to identify, if not name. But he could not exactly 'see' the anchor. There was a tug, though, at the edge of his 'vision,' disappearing each time he went to see it.

"Alright, let's try this way," Paul suggested, starting to move, trying to push through the crowd. It wasn't easy - Paul wasn't light, and slipping between people was, although not difficult, not exactly his forte. He did his best, though, trying to get the people to split by showing them he was armed. A dangerous way to do it in the least, but he was running out of options, and perhaps time.

Joe laid his hand lightly on the threshold of the door, looking out at the other side. He was disturbed from his trhoughts by the sound of footsteps running away. He looked up in time to see Siber as he headed away from the ******** looked at the group standing around the door. "You guys'll be fine. I'm gonna follow Siber and make sure he doesn't get to hog all the glory and cool stories from this trip." He flashed them a quick grin and a thumbs-up, then spun on his heels and set off after Siber.
Jesus, Roland...the first time he died, I felt that s**t. That was sick, and it's not happening again, especially not here. It'll probably drive me insane if it happens here in Crossover.
Roland nodded in his head.
Joe smiled grimly and picked up the pace, climbing the stairs after Siber.

((All right. Jeez, I've been out of it. So I'm with Alan- is there anyone else with Alex, or just Paul?))

Siber heard footsteps behind him, adding to those ahead. At a glance, he saw Joe. This would be a good group, then; well-balanced. Of course, he couldn't tell if their presence was totally unnecessary just based on Alan's weird powers, or if they were his chaperones in case he lost it, which seemed to be a pretty reasonable potential. Then again, Josh had more of a personal connection than either of them. Maybe it would have been better to stay with Alex and Paul, strategically. Too late now, though; besides, it was probably better to totally overpower Legion than to leave anything to chance. He started chanting for Sapphra.

((Just Paul, at least for now. Kayla is unaccounted for, isn't she?))

Thump.
Thump.
Thumpcrack.
Thumpcrack.
ThuCRACK.

Legion glared at the Lack of a Door.

"You," his voices growled.

"Me," the man replied, smirking with his head tilted as he lowered his foot from the Lack of a Door. He wore black slacks and an un-tucked button-down shirt of the same color. At his neck he had a red tie; at his hip, he had a sheathed sword.

He ran a hand through the mess of black hair as Legion approached. Legion glared at him.

"Samuel [[Devath's guy, for those who don't remember]], Erik, Chaos, Aurelie. Out of here, now," Legion commanded. Legion's body and voices seemed to be overclocking, as his appearance and voices were totally hyperactive, changing and shifting into each other.

"So, got one of those government agents under you," the man asked, stroking the clean-shaved section of chin around his soul patch thoughtfully as they left. "Not bad. Not bad. How long until you get Acid and them after you, though?"

"Jonathan Helmsborough, if you do not have anything to do here, leave."

"Oh, I think we both know what I'm here for."

~~

The building rocked violently.

"s**t, they're starting!" Josh yelled, throwing himself up the steps as fast as he could. "Damn, if only you two could Shadowstep and stall him... Except, we're in Crossover so you can't. ********!" He smashed the wall out of frustration without missing a step.

Aurelie didn't have a clue in hell what was going on, but it was bad. Dizzy or no, when Legion barked out the order, she was the first out the door.
She moved down the hallway a bit, towards the end where there were no other doors or stairs. A window sat at the end, looking worse for wear, and upon looking out, chills tripped over her spine. The sky was red, and chaos was reigning in the streets of L.A. as all sorts of really bad looking things caused trouble. Fires and riots were everywhere she could see, and fights between people and creatures were hysterical. Some creatures flew through the air and she stared.

"Where in the Hell are we?"

Apollime was silent, apparently as shocked as she at the outside world.
She turned back to Chaos and Erik with wide eyes.

((Yes!! I have been waiting for something to happen! Woo! XD
And where is Samuel and Erik anyway??? O.o ))

Chaos had started to move between Legion and the cracking door before she noticed it was very odd. Then seeing Legions voices and faces going wild with what she was guessing was anger at something she stepped back, not wanting to be hit by a blast of something.

As the door splintered she stared at the Lack of a Door and what had just come through it.

Her eyes moved over the man with horror as she recognized him. She wasn't sure how she could recognize him until she realized something was different about her demoniac magic. She had yet to notice, likely for being so close in vicinity to Legion, that her magic was being amplified to a wild degree.

Chaos blinked and focused on her magic, realizing she could pick up information her demons knew. Then she caught errant thoughts and thats why she had been so horrified upon recognizing the man and his name. The demons knew him and his attachment to the big guy in crossover, and about his and Legions not so friendly attitudes towards one another.

At his command she quickly stepped out of the room around the Helmsborough guy, very very careful not to touch him or even look up at him. Though she held her head up she was not challenging the man, especially without Legions orders to. Though she doubted with his connection she could do much, she would definately try if need be.

Now out in the hallway, the four of them stood at the end and she repeated what she had just found out, half in answer to Aurelie's question.
"I'm afriad we are in deep s**t my friends. And if the hunters are still in the building, as I presume, then they are likely madder than all hell and trying to find us and Legion as we speak. If so, we are gonna have a big fight on our hands."

She glanced towards where the door had been a few moments ago and where Legion and Helmborough were.
"We may have one even if the hunters don't make it up here."

She could hear the buzzing, but she could understand it if she listened, and it was really loud. And really weird.

She sighed and pressed a finger to her throbbig temple, and upon opening her magic sight, her "third eye", the pressure eased and thousands of voices abounded. She backed up, turned down the volume, and listened to bits and pieces, trying to hear anything useful.

((Samuel and Erik's players are busy; I'm keeping their characters alive until they return.))

It was hard to appreciate the kind of power Jonathan Helmsborough wielded just from seeing him.

It was much easier to understand when Legion's flying body put a little Lack of Wall next to the Lack of a Door, but what followed even one-upped that. He stepped through the empty Lack of Door frame and swung a hand at Legion. A wickedly barbed chain erupted from his sleeve and wrapped around Legion. He turned and grinned at Aurelie, who was greeted with a rather horrifying sight courtesy of her activated third eye.

He was coated in blood and scars, wrapped in the same barbed chains as he was using on Legion. They emerged from a gaping hole in his back, wrapped around him, and ended in barbed meat hooks piercing through his wrists, ankles, and neck. He grinned at her wildly with three eyes, his own third eye clearly visible on his forehead, brown with intense red veins disturbingly visible. He turned back to Legion and yanked his arm back while twisting his body, slamming his opposite fist into Legion's face.

Legion took the blow and grabbed Jonathan's head with both hands. He slammed his forehead to Jonathan's with a loud crack. Jonathan responded by hurling Legion back into the room they came from with his chain and following him.

(( Lights, camara, action!! n.n Barbie? Ha, such genious. what, nobody else gets it? -.-;; Barbed wire chains, barbie? haha. >.> *crickets* gonk Well, I thought it was funny. xp -lol- ))

Aurelie blinked rapidly, backing against in the wall with a horrified expression, chills were erupting over her skin in waves and she had never felt so cold.
"Wh-what the hell is he!?!?"
The others would think her mad, they couldn't see him. She could.

Then she realized they were in seriously deep s**t like Chaos had just said, as Apollime explained what she knew of the Abaddon and the tenuous relationship with Legion.
She froze, not knowing what to do..
, barked Apollime.

If I go in there I know I'll die, I am not the best fighter by far, but, I can't just let Helmsborough throw him around!

Anger was rising like a cloud, tinting her third eye with a darker sight. There was no way to hide or sneak up on him, she knew without trying. Making up her mind she clenched her fist, one around the remaining fire pearls from Legion. Her other gloved hand began crackleing with electricity before she even called it, and she then realized her powers were wildly off her normal scale.

A grim parody of a smile twisted her lips before she ran down the hallway, her boots clicking off a tempo. As she rounded the corner and looked through the little Lack of Wall dhe saw Helmsborough walking after Legion to where he had tossed him. She wanted to get his attention away from Legion before he got too close and she feared useing her magic and hitting him instead.

"Hey Barbie!!", she yelled at Helmsborough.
, shrieked Apollime.

She raised her hand and intended to shoot a bolt of lightening at him, instead, it came out as quite a few high powered ones, all aimed at him. She intended to use that much metal against him. Aurelie' smile was a warped parody, without mirth.
I don't have a death wish. Seems like it though, huh? If I go out, I am going out fighting damnit!

Siber jogged up the last few flights of stairs with his lips moving slowly, calmly, separating what he was murmuring with what he was saying to his dæmonic cohorts.
I need more help.
No, really?
spat Sapphra. Because we, as dæmons, hadn't noticed a clash between Legion and Abaddon.
He ignored her sarcasm, having no comeback prepared that wouldn't get his head bitten off. My plan is to call up Sapphra and then juggle among you all depending on who would best suit the situation which, against this particular combination, is apt to vary at a very rapid pace.
It took a few moments, because they were naturally very slightly indifferent about his life or death, hated Legion, and were concerned about possibly confronting Abaddon, if it was needed. But they acquiesced.
Thank you all. If I am ever in a situation that is not life and death for me, remind me and I'll bring you out, if you'd like.
Remember that,
Monoculous warned lightly.

They rounded the corner just in time to see a girl hurl lightning into a room perforated with holes. There were lots of decidedly unpleasant noises issuing from within and multiple faces of varying degrees of unpleasantness without.
"Erik!"

and the two girls. Keldan just barely stifled his anger at Gurul's fleshy vessel.

Siber muttered angrily. Monoculous, we're changing orders. I'm asking you up first- take out Samuel. He pointed for clarification. Monoculous appeared before vanishing to substantiate beside Samuel, his tail jabbing towards the man's neck.

What would've been a rapidly fatal strike was thrown off by another shake of the building. The tail clipped Samuel's ear instead. As he turned to them, Abaddon found himself thrown from the room by Legion, directly through the crowd of warlocks. They fell to the ground in a tangle of limbs. Helmsborough single-mindedly threw them aside and resumed his fight with Legion, who tackled him into the wall and began pounding on him relentlessly. It was easily noticeable that neither had any marks upon their body.

"They're trying to wear down each other's shields," Alan's voice came from a shadow beside Siber. "We're letting them wear each other down. Back off a level on the stairs, Lure the enemy warlocks down.

Legion and Abaddon were now rolling on the floor in a burning, blindingly bright aura of the energy they were pouring into their respective magical shielding, leaving further aid by Aurelie virtually impossible.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 06, 2008 9:56 pm

((Not that I'm ragging on the use of the phrase. I just enjoy it.))

My limbs are tangled! thought Siber with moderate overdrama.
What exactly are you trying to say? asked Sapphra, bemused.
I mean that I have been made, against my will, mind you, to fall into a tangle of limbs.
And here I was thinking that meant someone had been thrown into a tree. You must teach me more of this human phraseology.
Just as soon as I extricate myself, m'Lady.

Siber, as planned, unwound himself from Joe and backed down the stairs as per Alan's suggestion, because it was clearly less than astute to remain on a floor with Legion and Abaddon. As much as he would have preferred to watch the display, he enjoyed the skin on his face and would rather it not be melted off.
Monoculous had vanished as Siber lost concentration, so at the very least he was not at risk. Once he was down, Siber opened the door into the next room, checked to make sure it was vaguely empty, and crouched on a rolling office chair facing the door. He would have asked its owner to please vacate it, but she and the rest had in fact vacated the entire room post-haste, presumably when they heard the noise above them, rendering it pleasantly empty.

This advice and subsequent retreat became rapidly obsolete.

Just as Keldan was pointing out said tangling having sliced open a great number of section's of Siber's arms with the thorned chains, Abaddon was thrown through the floor of another room on the level - a fact deduced merely from listening to the direction of the furniture-smashing.

Josh, Alan, and Sam appeared beside Siber and Joe.

"I'm surprised they haven't escalated their combat further. They may simply be minding the greater powers in Crossover, but consequences have never stopped the fights of Legion and Abaddon.... Huh," Josh mused.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 07, 2008 8:05 pm

((ohh, Acid? Who's that? Sounds cool, I could play Acid!))

Joe rolled away from Siber and stood quickly. He noticed the blood on his shirt, and after checking that he had no cuts, he realized it was from Siber. He cocked his arm back and called, "Siber! Heads up!" as he flung it forward, like throwing an invisible ball. In reality, he was chucking a ball of healing energy that splashed over Siber and closed up all his relatively small cuts.
He turned and looked at the Legionnaires, a wicked smile twisting his face. "Oooh, mini bosses!" he called in a singsong voice. He cracked his knuckles happily, as the wind picked up and fire flared in Joe's hands. "If you don't want to get caught up in the fight going on over there," he indicated where the sounds of smashing/tearing/ripping/crushing/pain-roaring, "then come downstairs with us and let's settle this like Warlocks."

((Haha. Prissy a**. >D -rofl- Sorry, I was in the moment. ^3^;; lol ))

Aurelie stomped out of the blasted apart room and into the hallway, looking over the fighting Legion and Helmsborough at Joe. Snarling she flipped him a very rude gesture with a little fireball dancing on the tip of her finger.

"You can just sit on that and roate buster!!! I thought you had actually became my friend on my first mission but NO! I thought they had aken you prisoner and were hurting you when we lost you, even after Legion said otherwise I hoped he was wrong! BUT NO!!! You had to go join the Goody Two Shoes Kiss Asses and be all pure and noble! Wipe the s**t off your nose and priss your a** back downstairs! As bad as I would love to see your a** kicked I am not coming over that!!"
She screamed in a fury over the commotion, rage building in her flashing eyes as she pointed at the two fighting and smashing through floors. Gravity seemed to be a non issue for them.

Apolline's laughter was ringing in the back of her head, which she shut out and ignored.

Still wrapped in a fitful anger she completely ignored Joe and stomped over to Chaos, Erik and Samuel. Belatedly she realized they were missing someone.
"Samuel, are you alright? And where's Takeshi, I thought he was in here earlier??
And what are we going to do, we CANNOT allow Legion to be harmed. But we are no match for that thing!! What can we do??"
