I too have been busy with work and other social obligations.
Two to Four people seem to call in to work daily.

No. It's different people all the time. To put it bluntly: Our store(and most businesses) have a certain amount of hours to give to everyone>Divided time between everyone>Unhappy employees for being dealt low hours>Call Ins/Scheduling conflicts >New Hires to make up for lacking staff>Fewer hours.It's a vicious cycle. There's more to it than that as well and of course this is purely my perspective....but no matter which way you look at it it's frustrating to a lot of people.

For some reason it turns everyone and everything on its head. Team that with the fact that it's the middle of summer down here at the bottom of the world and chaos reigns because everyone is stuck in hot, stuffy offices with their minds on the beach and what Santa's bringing through the ranch-slider on Christmas Day. Seriously, at my work on Friday I had to explain to the same person three times in three different phone calls over the space of an hour that NO their whiteboard was NOT going to get to them at the bottom of New Zealand by the end of the day if we dispatched it at lunch time. Thankfully, it's my last day of the year tomorrow and it's a half day. I'm then FREE until January the 7th when I then have to go back.
