For now the monster was gone. He breathed a sigh of relief. R0GU3 kept walking forward, and instead of hearing the creature's steps he heard familiar voices that made his hair stand on end. Quest Restart-
The fact that his heart was fluttering the pace of a hummingbird with the colors of the trees, it was strange, dreamlike and altogether wrong as well. There frankly was no time to stop and contemplate it with death and its jaws behind him. even if it was not stomping as loud as before. But it was there, and that meant it was still possible to find him again. Thankfully the litle status pad was not screaming his location out to the thing. but the voices that piped up from behind him might. "Wait, voices?" REX paused, thinking it over about the voices that did not sound like those being chased and/or chomped upon. voices that did not sound like they were in danger, almost comforting, and familiar. He wanted to make sure that whomever it was, was ok. Turning to face the sound was met with white. White and sharp angled lines that opened and- It was deja vu all over again. [THE CHASE PART II: SECOND TRY] '...Charles...' While it seemed Loverboy had managed to outrun the Jabberwock, he could not shake the disembodied voice of the mysterious woman from his past. He recalled vague bits and pieces of her. '...Baby, turn around. Don't run from me...'She was a long-legged dame in a red dress. '...I need you, Charles...'Or maybe it was black. Whatever the colour, Loverboy could not resist the temptation to turn around and get a good look at it. When he did so he screamed, and was swallowed up by the Jabberwock all over again. This seemed very familiar. Not the way the trees and shrubs and the way the audio all seemed to be cloned and overlapped like a broken record. It was as if this part had happened before. the hesitiation felt like it was there before. that before he even began to really worry, the feeling was already upon him. "So strange." REX uttered, and payed attention to the cry of panic that had he himself running from danger that was practically looming down his neck. and went to take a bite no less, the pain was not as potent, but numbers did not lie, 10 was a scary digit to be at- deja vu all over again. There was the mute button again. except he was not sure how he knew that in the first place. It was time to get away from the monster and its teeth that wanted another taste, and put his feet back to work. [ THE CHASE PART 1 ] Not for the first time, RavenousDelirium wondered at the weirdness of the Tulgey Woods; everything had shaken in an odd manner and now the trees were...going berserk, basically. Steam came from them and loud cracking sounds assaulted his ears; Mouth tilted his head and kept a wide-legged stance just in case the ground began moving again. Between his ankles and around them, numerous small creatures scurried by and each of them, to a one had the same thing to say: It's coming! Its coming! Suddenly, everything went quiet..Mouth felt a nasty prickle and had the sense that something Very Bad was behind him; he ducked his head some and slooowly turned to see the Jabberwock and it's brilliant, terrible eye. It lunges its long, long neck towards you, twisting through the trees and takes a bite - SNAP! Your pocket card kindly informs you that you only have 10 HP left. Large white teeth reach towards you and you barely avoid a second attack as you do the logical thing - start running. RavenousDelirium made a very un-manly sound when the Jabberwock's teeth closed on him and one of dismay when the golden card in his pocket chirped his HP amount at him. "Oh shi---" He did the only thing that he could think to do in that situation: he ran. OOC My character's username: RavenousDelirium My character's level: 3 Character's HP: 6/30 Character's Job class: Gryphon Current party: -- Current Guild: -- Location: Tulgey Woods Small IC description of character: Tall, lightly muscled with glowing red eyes and dark grey, mottled skin, RavenousDelirium wears the black and white with gold-trim Gryphon-class set though there are many patches and additional "accents" added to the basic set.
