Something bumped into him, eating away at a fragment of Shaiming's shield; Crispin whirled -
- and saw one of the waiters, holding up a bottle of wine with a glassy-eyed look. Crispin stumbled back.
What are you waiting for?
"Dude, he's... he's a waiter, he's unarmed, I can't just-" He realized his hands were shaking, and tightened his grip on the glaive's shaft in an attempt to steady himself. His knuckles went white. "I can't. I can't, Shaiming, I can't - more bugs. I can... I can with bugs."
He felt sick.

Movement, and even in the dark the vivid color of Gnat;s dress was eye catching. She spotted the other Sun, and hurriedly waded through the swarm of spiders to get to her side. She didn't say anything though, it was hard enough not to scream. It felt as though once she started, she'd just not stop. So she kept her mouth shut, but nodded at the taller woman as she sunk into something close to a defensive crouch. A leg came towards them, and Peyton aimed a jab at it. The spikes of her knuckles barely grazed it, and she hissed a curse under her breath. HP: 19/40 DMG: - CHG: 0/3 | 1/1 BUFF:Rolling a 3: The Life lead (H) is exasperated at your attempt to help him as you nearly hit him. He mutters some mildly chastising words, you turn around and stare- your damage modifier drops to -10 for your next attack roll. POISONED BOSS HP: 310 ravvlet Sup my sista from another mista!

Time up. Otto's auto-pilot went out of commission. Reality was smacking him in the face, and there was no way he could go on ignoring it for the sake of his job. Bugs were everywhere, it was dark as night, and nightmarish flashbacks kept whiplashing him with memories of the Horsemen Dungeon. Everything became hazy, his ears went numb. The world was spinning, and noises seem to fluctuate. He couldn't handle it anymore. None of it. His two greatest fears were clashing with memories of the past, and a great threat staring him down. He couldn't pretend he was able anymore. He wasn't okay. He wouldn't be okay.... She paused in battle to take that in, which was a bad idea already but the trainee was still shaky after H's appearance with that whip. It allowed the tendrils of inky bugs to swing closer, and with a small cry Stormy struck back, sweating and with her hair already beginning to wildly curl and fight the ponytail she'd restrained it to for the evening.
"Well that's . . . As soon as Kat's eyes were no longer seeing blurred objects, and she had a clear shot, she fired one of Xedis' charges directly at the creature ahead. Though the attack was successful, the backlash from the attack was enough for the sun hunter to drop to her knees. "Damn that stings..!"

With an inner sigh, the dragon tugged his attention to the side - ah, bugs. The relief was so intense that Crispin shook again, just for a moment. Then he was moving, away from the waiter and into the swarm. At least his barely-controlled sweeps were much more likely to hit the enemy in a swarm like this.

Crispin finished laying waste to the bugs and came up against yet another waiter. He twisted away, stumbling a bit in his haste to flee the foe. His stomach twisted up with shame, but he just - no. They were... had been... human. He couldn't. Not unarmed.

She had stopped moving. Gale turned his head to look at her, his chest feeling tight, out of breath.
"What's the matter?"
Besides the obvious, that was. He wasn't sure whether he had made her uncomfortable or not - and, knowing himself, he probably had. Gale gritted his teeth and tried to block out the rest of the world - including Allan's oh so helpful shouts.

As if to make up for it, Crispin smashed through the next swarm like it was nothing, though his movements were a bit more wild and uncontained than usual. Which was saying a lot.
And then there was nothing left between him and the... well, the boss monster. This had been just the beginning. The escort mobs. Now it was time to drop the big one. He swallowed, hard. "We can do this."
Yes, and if Shaiming was concerned about Crispin's inability to strike down the apparent humans, the dragon gave no sign.

"Gnat!" Her view was obstructed, and she swung desperately to clear the spiders that had come between them, voice high and strained as she felt the little bodies sliding through her hair and into the tattered remains of her dress.
An almost helpless little shriek welled up and threatened to slip past Peyton's lips, but she snapped her teeth closed, turning the scream into a something much closer to a growl as she struggled to get to her friend.

BUFF: Rolling a 8. The Moon lead is impressed with your work and takes a second to shout to you about keeping up the good work. The boost in morale does wonders, and so does her shield which protects you from damage, allowing you to at least get a charged attack in there. You get +1 charged attack tally bonus, so if you were at 1/3, it is now 2/3 until a charged attack.
