And then suddenly...Ofelia felt better. She was still somewhat crushed emotionally, so ready to go home, but at least her health was standing and she had Before with her and her cheeks were red with thankfulness and then. . .
" . . . . why're'ya kneelin'? Ya hurt yerself?" she asked down at Jason, raising an eyebrow. "Are ya cryin' cause we flayed 'em down, flayed 'em down?" Her voice was sing song, it still wasn't entirely her own. she pointed a hand at the other Insanity Beast, a cackle and giggle escaping. With her health full, her sanity was going. "We should flay her down, flay her down." She was almost singing actually, the words, and she cackled and giggled. "Orders are orders, if they didn' wanna die they shouldn'a gone off the edge. Why are we protectin' it, better ta follow orders an' have permission~"
Wilson very clearly stared at Ariane as she shot back a reply without even once opening her mouth. Reflexively he tried to cover his butt like it would any good. He stared some more as other thoughts began to ring in his head.
And man Ceres had a nice rack before all this too.
This thought had a familiar ring to it…Dakota. He furrowed his brows. Dakota is that you? Goddammit Dakota everytime— Wilson couldn’t even finish the thought.
MIND SHARING IS NOT FOR THIS PURPOSE YOU GUYS.
This time he even leaned over to elbow Dakota in the side.

Jason was too busy trying to use his first aid skills when He felt a force nearly push him onto Bix. He barely managed to miss hitting the body before sitting up, but he did not respond to before. He was too preoccupied.
"Why isn't it working?!" He shouted to no one. "Come on...wake up, PLEASE WAKE UP!" He went to shake Bix, but he froze in horror as the body dissolved
Dissolved....
"N...o....It can't be..." Jason stared at the spot where Bix had been. He could only stare. Why didn't it work, why didn't it. This can't be happening. I was right here. I was-.
Only then did he both to look at the hunter whom had tripped over him. His face pale, he tried to say something to before.
"I tried...dammit...I tried..."

Jerry's head was going to burst. He wanted to drown out the whispers, wanted to drown out the battle, wanted to drown out the emptiness he couldn't tell whether it was the fog or his own misgivings and unhinged brain but he didn't care. He wanted it all to stop. He wanted to blow it away.
And so he swiveled his aim around and tried. Concentrate on Orders. Concentrate.
The shot went wild, but all the same Jerry gave a sigh of relief as his ears were sent ringing from the blast.

The longer she held on, the less pronounced his whine became until he was silent once more. Flashes of memory came to him in disjointed pieces, but it was hard to concentrate with all of the background noise; they remained a jarring collection of tightly-wound emotions roiling around inside of him. Yet at the same time, he managed to piece together this much: this was not a bad touch, but a good one. Certainly not anything he deserved, but he was too tired to continue recoiling away; it gave him a shadow of comfort at least.
Quietly Mort watched the witch work her magic, an almost glazed look in his eyes as the little moon appeared and lit up the space between them, its light easing a small fraction of the pain away - not nearly enough to reach down to the ache that plagued him from the strange warped experience. Kindness tormented him just as much as pain did because he wasn't supposed to be there. Whatever they had done to restrain him here, it was probably as perverse a method as the means he had meant to leave by.
The look he gave her in return was strained, conflicted. On the one hand, healing was always appreciated. On the other, he was teetering on the edge of despair and almost blinded from looking past the event horizon of sanity. He was nobody's good luck charm; just one continuous cosmic joke of dissipation and life and mistake after mistake after Jack damn grievous mistake. Now he felt like he had purposefully avoided the newest punchline and would soon pay for it.
He followed Belladonna's gaze outwards, squinting still. The mass of fog the students attacked made him shiver and instinctively lean closer to her, afraid that even a few inches of distance would mean the difference between staying and being pulled back in. Someone was in there. One of the ones just like him.
She had said to rest, but . . . there was no such thing for him now; they had wrested him from the brink of the final rest and now he was left with nothing but emptiness, confusion, and memories that refused to make themselves cleared. Mort shook his head vaguely and reached towards the fog with Thor, trying to conjure up a few bolts to send towards the barrier; all he got was a sputtering noise and a few sparks that leapt to tweak the witch's hand instead.
He might have nearly perished, but he was still the same weak, useless creature. "S-Sorry," he croaked with knitted brows. "M'not lucky at all . . ."

If not now Wilson, WHEN? Dakota frowned unhappily. He wasn't the only pervert sharing their thoughts right now. He could guess the butts though...as his eyes slid at Ariane and a raised eyebrow.
And on that note though, he was pretty much peering around now at the hunters standing with him. Ariane, Wilson, Eva, Ryan, Kat, and others...all people he had come to know...
Defending a hunter they all knew as well. ******** this was a messed up situation.
His eyes slid again towards Wilson and grinned.
I could think of worse things and probably project my images for it...
Jason had not originally seen Ofelia there, but he did turn her way when she addressed him. Was he crying? The moisture in his eyes pointed to that direction, but he was steadfastly trying not to.
"W-what are you talking about?!" His voice rose at her words. He had just seen someone died, and now she was singing about fighting?! "YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!"
The moon hunter mind was a turmoil of emotions. The hunter was dead, and now another one was being threatened. And he hadn't even had time to think about Marcus. What would happen to him...?
Crumbing, Jason placed a hand on his face, choking back a sob,
Rown

The only way to come at the problem was clinically. She waited for someone else to take a stab at it, and succeed - this time, it was Mei. She was behind the ghoul in a moment, and Riley's tentacles snapped out around her, beating on the spot that Mei had just hit. With the spot weakened, and working together, they made a sizable dent.
When Riley's tentacles returned to her, she gave Mei a soft pat on the shoulder. Is this how it's been all day? Have there been improvements in the situation, or are we simply fighting endless battles?

It was on the tail-end of his trip, when knee met torso and Before's center of gravity shifted, causing him to topple forward, face-first that the Mist saw the most horrible thing ever: Bix's body fading away. He reached forward as if trying to grab onto the Sun's disappearing form but instead all he got was a mouth full of dirt and a heat full of ache. Perhaps that was for the best because it allowed him to miss most of Ofelia's ramblings.
He stood himself up quickly, teal eyes sudden livid and furious and not all there. "You," he growled, narrowing at Jason. "WHAT DID YOU DO!??!! WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY BRO!?!?!?" he screeched, suddenly launching himself at the other Hunter, hands ready to strangle and pull at hair and kick and bite and let the despair and anger over having lost his best friend.

Jake only watched wordlessly as Rep took down the bird-looking mutated hunter with a mighty blow. ... Wow. Were all hunters this strong? ... Holy crap. That was probably a guy he shouldn't be pissing off anytime soon. At least, not until he got stronger.
Focusing his attention on the remaining mutated hunter, prepared to attack, but the sight before him made him stop.
Apparently, "meat shield" had taken on a whole new meaning. Jake only stared at the group of hunters surrounding the mutated hunter...beast thing.
"... What the hell are you guys doing?" Didn't they have orders to take down these things? ... Or was rebellion against higher-up a regular thing in Deus?

Eva has a nice a** AND rack.
...There was no question as to whose thought that was. Dakota! Oh, for goodness sake!
She flinched at Wilson's exasperated thought, only to lift a hand up and massage at her temples. Yes, this was not what mindreading was for, but...Though there's the question as to how...why...we can suddenly hear each other's thoughts. I mean... The girl trailed off and cringed, pressing her fingers more firmly against her temples. There were too many voices in her head, too many hushed whispers lurking between the silly thoughts of her friends and fellow trainees. There was one voice that stood out most strongly above them all, though.
How she had ended up hitting Yin, Xiu didn't know, but she did feel pretty terrible about it. After apologizing many more times than was probably necessary, the baku moved back to eye the barrier, taking the time to look at it a little more closely this time as opposed to simply trying to hit it. It seemed to be made up of a variety a different things--Xiu was glad that she somehow hadn't ended up punching the spikes in her earlier attempt--and she attempted to scan it in search of a potential weak point.
Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be such a thing. If that was the case, then she would just have to join in with the other students and try to break the whole thing down by sheer force.
