He held her tighter at that, leaning against the wall with her in his arms. And as she went through the change guilt tore through him. He should have protected her better, should have thought about preparing her. Now all he could do was sit there, he couldn't even help her. All he could do was hold her.

She suddenly screamed out in pain and was suddenly a dark brown almost black wolf in Nik's lap. The form still shivered and twitched, that and her breathing the only sign of life in her now.

It didn't surprise him as she shifted in his lap, but what did surprise him was the color. He was a black wolf because his hair was black, now he wondered where she got brown. Shaking it off he stroked her head lightly, wishing he could do something about her shaking. "Easy Moya. It'll be over soon." He would still have to help her though. Her world was about to get heightened to a new extreme.

Moya slowly moved, whimpering from soreness and sat up a little in his lap. She looked down and saw paws, and what confused her more was her color as well. Shilo's fur was white yet she had a full head of black hair. It must have come from her mother, her mother's hair was this color. She looked up at Nik and licked his face.
Shilo heard the scream and jumped off the bed, sniffing under the door and scratching at it to let them know they were worried. She whimpered and could smell that someone has changed but she couldn't figure out the smell now.

When she licked him he kissed the top of her head gently, carefully pulling away. As he stood up he cracked his back, rolling his head on his shoulders. This was already a crappy night. Holding in a sigh he went to the bathroom door, looking down at Shilo for a minute before simply letting her in. There was no need to explain, Moya still smelled the same.

Shilo walked in and sniffed at her mom for a moment before loving up against her and licking her nose. She walked out of the bathroom and down to her room, coming back with her tug of rope. mama was new to the body, so maybe she could help like daddy did with her. She sat in front of Moya and held the rope in her mouth, shaking it a bit to get her to grab it.
Moya chuckled in her mind and stood up easily. She walked up to Shilo and bit her gently at the nape of her neck, walking off and hopping on the bed. Being in the forest helped her so much, and watching Nik did too. Shifting she wouldn't know how to handle, or the new senses, but Nik could help her, she knew he could.

He smiled slightly at the sight of her rope. It was good thinking really, but he didn't honestly see it working. Moya had lived in the wilderness for two years, and she had stalked him for God knew how long. She could do this. Picking Shilo up he set her on the bed, shifting before hopping up and laying next to them. Even as a wolf he was bigger than her.

Moya curled up next to Nik and had Shilo against her side. She licked Shilo's head before settling on her own paws and yawning. I hope I can shift back. She thought as she started to drift in and out of sleep.

He stayed close as she fell asleep on and off, simply laying there to offer some comfort. He didn't know where to start with her. It was almost like trying to get her to trust him again. And that alone had been hard. 'Come here Shilo.'

Shilo looked up at her dad and then slowly moved away from her mom as to not wake her and moved over to be close to her dad. She tilted her head questionally and perked up her ears.

He licked her when her ears perked up, pulling her closer with his paw so she rolled over to him. 'Just needed you a little closer.' He'd already failed Moya once now. It wouldn't happen again, and he wasn't going to let anything happen to either Moya or Shilo. 'Try to sleep baby.'

Shilo nodded and curled up kind of between her parents, yawning and settling down. It took a while for her to fall asleep but she did, shifting back to her human form.

Waiting a heartbeat or two after she shifted back he switched forms as well, moving slowly and carefully and picking Shilo up, taking the monitor with him and attaching it to his belt loop. He wanted Moya to sleep, and with that thought in mind he took Shilo to her crib, tucking her in and going downstairs to the basement. Letting out a deep breath he pulled the light switch on, opening another door once he was there and turning on another light. This room was basically a gym, he couldn't keep up his strength from running and hunting alone. Pulling on a pair of gloves he rolled his head on his shoulders, facing the punching bag as all of his anger came back, causing him to shake before he started beating into it.

While Moya slept she shifted back, her body calm enough to do it on its own. She slept soundly for a few hours, but then images started to go through her dreams. She started to toss and turn, this going on for another few hours. When the sun came up she woke up scared and in a cold sweat. She looked around and relaxed a little to know she was still in her house. She got up and walked around a little, her body sore from shifting. She first got dressed then went in to check on Shilo, who was still asleep and looked peaceful.
She went down to the kitchen and started to cook a big breakfast. Nik had taught her how to cook some things like eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast. He hadn't trusted her with pancakes yet.

Only when he could smell the food upstairs did he slow down, every part of his body burning. He hadn't been tired, he had been pissed. Now most of it was gone and replaced with a welcome ache and a thin sheen of sweat coating his body. Tossing the gloves aside as he panted he turned everything off and went back upstairs, glad to see it was only Moya in her human form. Walking over he kissed her head and got a cold glass of water, drinking the whole thing in a minute. "How do you feel?"
