Cooro's strong hug around Adelle loosened slightly. He could see the fight in the alley way from where he sat. "Caine has arrived Adelle, and I don't wish to leave your side. I don't want them to place their tainted hands on the youthful innocence." His arms moved up to her head, which he held tenderly. His gentle, icy thumb brushed her cheek. "Adelle, listen to me, are you okay? There is no need to be sorry child, you did nothing wrong."

Tika's jaw clamped tightly shut, her sharp white teeth dug into her lip. Puddles of red pooled at the base of her eyes. He had called to her, asked her for help. Was it now void? Did he not wish for her help. Tika closed her eyes and looked downward. This was no time to be peaty, reflective, she needed to act now. Tika looked up at Arsenii and saw what he was doing. But why? He knew just as well as she did what would happen if they were caught. But this man also thought himself invincible. She put on a mood, she would follow him so as not to receive more punishment. Her eyes flashed and she cackled wildly. She began to run around, knocking over trashcans, kicking cans which, when they rebounded off the apartment's walls sounds alike thunder.

Echo nodded. Yes Caine. She agreed watching the two. One had completely lost it as far as she was concerned. The other she felt had doubts. She quickly releyed this to Caine. Shall we work together or fight them apart? Echo asked looking for a second at Caine. Make your choice my friend, we have to act fast, humans approach.

Arzachel chuckled and shook his head. "Wild. That's what it is." He said with a grin. "Perhaps a bit foolish... but then again, I remember back when humans knew what we were.... Those times were wonderous. The humans of that era truly earned the right to be called 'man.'" Arzachel said, with a hint of nostalgia. "Humans once possessed harmful, and the willpower to use them. They were... how else can I say it... almost worthy opponents. But enough of that, I can explain those times in more detail later... they are no longer the species they once were." He said to her as he used his sight abilities to get a closer look at the vampires who were acting so wildly. His golden eyes opened glared at the silhouettes of two drunken females that he noticed as he and Eve made their way through the alleys. "Fool wenches. These people no longer know anything about pride." He muttered under his breath.

Zack smiled at Mara, in an attempt to be reassuring. He could feel a wild nature nearby, one that was loose, angry and had had no real fear, but there was something else also. Another presence. This one cold, dark and dangerous in a much different way. But he could also sense less hostile presences, the more familiar presences of what must have been Cooro and Adelle. "I think they're close Mara. I think I can feel them not too far, just a few more alleys." He told her.

Taking Zack's hand in her own Mara began to move a bit faster. She knew they were close, Cooro was distressed, then she heard the crazed cackling and gunshots as the two vampires lost what sanity they had, if they had any. She turned very sharply into an alley way and arrived at the scene. Looking around from one vampire to another she did her best to keep Zack behind her. She was not sure how well he fought her kind, but she knew how well she could.

With the glint of a devil in his eye, Arsenii flew towards the mortal women, seizing one by the neck to pull her wet body against his, before her mind had even the time to comprehend. The tips of his finely sharpened nails grazed over her skin, sending beads of red blood rolling down her neck. He delicately lapped the fluid with his tongue and took a moment to inhale the scent of fear. She wriggled beneath his grasp but the alcohol flowing through her system made her clumsy, unable to focus her strength. "How far are you all willing to go to protect the secret of your existence vampires?" Arsenii pressed the barrel of his gun to the girl's head, his mouth shaped into a taunting grin.

The other female had tripped over the curb, and now began fumbling about on the ground to right herself again. Her face contorted in ghastly fright.

Casualties are a shame, but as long as we can hide the body of that girl Echo...there is nothing that we can do for her now. With every word Caine became more infuriated. He knew he wasn't powerful enough to take down this enemy alone; a fact that ate at his overbearing pride. Do you know this new fellow Echo? That dark haired vampire? Do you think we could use him? "Kill her if you like. It makes no difference to me. There are many deaths in this city on a nightly basis. Law officials will just assume it's the work of a gang." That bluff would likely cost the dear girl her life, Caine was sure.

"I am fine father. I assure you. That beastly female is helping her comrade. Please, help the others; they need you. The situation is in such disarray. Go be their reason." She clung tightly to Cooro for a moment more, before releasing him to stare into his eyes. Multi-colored and unique, she had always loved them. Her gaze was earnest. "I will stand behind."

Eve halted, now as close to the conflict as she would venture; less than a block away. "Indeed, there was a time that humans had no doubt of our existence. It was liberating for us all. But tell me, do you agree with so carelessly gallivanting our presence as those two are doing?" The rain only beat down harder, pooling in the streets and flooding the sewers. Eve pulled a hood overtop her head uselessly. She was already soaked.

Cackling Tika continued to sing and stomp and cause trouble, all this she did to cover her feelings of doubt. Seeing Arsenii she followed his action. Was he still upset with her? She was sure he was, or would be once they had time to relax.... With the quickness of lightning as seen by the human eyes Tika too held the other woman. Tika had come from behind and now she held the struggling woman tightly in her arms, her fangs poked holes into the woman's neck. Her sharp eyes took in the entire area, she watched everyone as best as she could, but she couldn't help but be drawn to Arsenii and the way he played with the drunken woman. Tika shivered, she could not determine exactly what she was feeling at that moment.

Echo's emotionless eyes flicked over to Caine and back to the scene. Don't lose yourself Caine. She told him though in a stressed tone. Everything will be okay. Our kind does feast on humans. She will be taken care of I assure you. What Echo did worry about was that somehow these vampires would lead the tracks back to them, maybe even Cooro. Echo shook her head, No Caine I do not know him. He does seem interested however in our side. It might be possible to persuade him to fight for us. Her clever eyes trailed over the lone figure. He looked strong. Echo's eyes flashed when Caine finally spoke aloud. She looked from the stranger to her companion. She understood the reasons for what he said, they could not show fear or hesitation, but something about it saddened her.

“That’s my girl.” Cooro said softly with a slight smile on his thin lips. His fingers gently caressed the side of her face, they ran though Adelle’s beautiful hair, snagging for a second before coming undone. He leaned forward to lay a kiss upon the top of her head. “Do not fear Adelle.” He said reassuringly. “The right will be over soon, just keep yourself safe.” He whispered, his multi-colored eyes dancing slightly. The elder vampire then stood up, turning away from his adopted daughter and began to walk towards the chaos. Caine, Echo, I'm ready to help you. The doctor said to his companions.

With an exaggerated grace, Arsenii slid his gloved hand up the girl's neck to take her face by the chin. He delivered her a quick kiss to the cheek before jerking her head to the side, instantaneously snapping her neck. The limp body fell from his grasp to the pavement, her limbs contorted unnaturally. Arsenii stood proud. Only his appearance would save the majestic stance though. His schizophrenia was obvious. "What do you all stand to gain from hiding idly by? Do you enjoy that miserable existence, cowering like dogs from the humans who should be, and are, our natural pray? And would you be as blind to the filth our brethren have become? The pining little insects run as rampant as rats. No respect for their elders. More are made daily. I remember a time when it was a privilege to be vampire."

Then we should attack promptly. The female's strength is of little consequence compared to his. One of us should be able to handle her. Who will have her? Caine's shoulders tensed. His eyes dilated at the site. This vampire's regard for decency or delicacy was nil. "I think we have all had enough of your babbling. It is clear, my friend, that you are outnumbered. Cut your losses and end this now." A last, yet futile attempt at reconciliation.

Adelle nearly clung to the wall. She knew her father was strong, but the fear of his injury still shook her. She reached out for Mara telepathically, hoping that her surrogate sister was somewhere nearby.

Eve could not help but be in awe. The Russian's words intrigued her. She had lingered for too long in the wake of vampiric scum, nothing better than ghouls in her eyes. Laytham was riddled with them. This preternatural made a valid, clearly accurate point. She knew it insane to even ponder the thought of aiding his exodus, but it was becoming more tangible.

Tika held her woman still in her arms. The threat she offered was evident, her captive was silent. She stood behind Arsenii awaiting his command. She watched him with sober eyes as he kissed the woman, an action which startled Tika nearly as much as the loud snap that broke the secondary silence. Wanting to flinch at the sound she remained erect, emotionless.

Echo agreed with Caine. I will take either, she replied silently. Call your man and I shall take what is left. The fight was there in her cool eyes. She was ready. Taking a stance to prepare for battle she stood by Caine's side. "This is your last chance." Echo echoed softly. "Surrender now or else your future is very dark."

Cooro stepped up beside the two. I am here now my friends. He said to the two, And I am ready to fight with you. Tell me the plan and I will go along with it now that Adelle is safe. Cooro also took up a defensive stance and waited for a command.

Mara could smell Arsenii and Tika's scents from her current position. With her mind wide open like a radio waiting for a signal she felt Adelle speaking. Grasping onto that voice she held it firmly in her mind. Adelle! She exclaimed. You are near, I can feel you. Is everyone okay? She asked in a rather frantic tone.

Darilus was thrown off by a familiar scent earlier. It was that vampire from earlier and her companions. The scene suddenly changed as some mortals came upon the scene. It was tragic but as they say there are casualties in war and unless they keep their presence from the mortal world a war will most likely happen. It was one thing ages ago when pitchforks and fire was the worse they could do but now they replaced faith with more dangerous weapons. Honestly sometimes Darilus wondered if it really mattered if humans were around anymore save for as food. Then again this madman was a prime example that not all Nosferatu are as insane as the humans they hide among. He was sure about who was on which team now and he would deal with the consequences later.

Before anyone could react Darilus moved suddenly behind Tika in her moment of confusion. His hands touched hers just as she held the girl. "Do you really want to be like him child? You do not look all that old so I can imagine you still have some humanity left inside of you. If you continue to follow him all you will gain is misery as humanity will rear its fangs upon all of us. When that time comes do you think someone that has no care for life will take care of you?" Darilus said to Tika as his words slithered into her ears seductively over the rain. "We can make the girl forget everything if you let me and we can end this fight."

Arzachel grinned. "His perception still seems to be accurate, even if the rest of his mind had formed into miasma. I think that an assessment of the leeches in this city needs to be done... an assessment in fire, preferably." He said. "While I'd like to have a chat with this mad one, I think some subduction could do.... Eve find a sufficient tactical position... I'll find another angle. Keep any further contact via telepathy." He said to her before transforming into mist and floating up to a fire escape that would give him the best advantage.

Zack blinked and looked at Mara. "How close are they?" He asked her looking around. His eyes became slitted and reptilian as he looked around.

Tika gasped, she hadn't even seen the Nosferatu move towards her and now he held her. She was left stunned. "What do you know about him?" She spat back at Darilus with venom. She tried to shake the man off. "Let go of me!" Tika shouted though her teeth. Tika heard Darilus. She heard what he said, and she wanted to answer him. She shivered. His words were tempting. They had some sort of magic charm over her. Was it really possible though to drop it as it was right here?

Mara sighed, she was somewhat scared now. "J-Just around the corner." She announced and turned aroudn the last corner. Looking down the street she saw Arsenii holding his hostage tightly in his arms. She saw the hostage fall to the ground, dead. She saw the vampire from the restaurant holding another vampire who was holding a woman. This was not right either, but perhaps he had it taken care of. Mara could see one thing to do. Perhaps she could catch the one standing over the dead body by surprise. She ran at him preparing to tackle him and hold him till the others could assist her. She would only need to hold him for a few seconds before the others surrounded him. Mara growled softly and ran straight for Arsenii with the intent of trapping him.

"Listen to yourself child? I could see that look in your eyes when he killed that girl. What went through your mind? Perhaps you could see yourself as that girl dieing in his hand. What kind of master do you think you will be when you make him angry one day? Are you ready to end your life at the hands of a vampire driven mad by his blood?" Darilus said softly as his hands moved from her hand and gently rubbed her arms. "There are others that will help you live a life so you do not become a monster. Don't let that man snuff out the humanity still inside of you. Let me have the girl and come with me."

He could feel his influence slowly washing over the young vampire. The madman might be beyond redemption. His mind was turbulent like a wild storm making him unpredictable.

Tika closed her eyes and breathed deeply. Who was this man, this beast? Why did he have such power over her? His hands had left hers and were now at her arm, but not threateningly so. He was so gentle. Her grip on the woman lessened, her arms still held her strongly, but if Darilus tried to pry them away he might make it. Tika would swear she felt her stomach wiggling most uncomfortably. She opened her mouth to reply to him, but said nothing. She hung her head, was this her submission? Had she been defeated?

Then Tika saw Mara running for her master. She had to let him know he was about to be attacked! "Arsenii!" She shouted, her mind moving quickly. This had to be the moment of her decision. Could this man help change her? Did she still crave her master's words and his affection? Would she be... happy choosing the one who held her? The decision was made. Tears of light red rolled down her pale, marble skin. "Help me Arsenii!" She shouted. Perhaps now the one running for him had her chance. Her hope was to distract him just long enough.

The wait was taking too long for Echo. She saw Cooro's other daughter running for the mad vampire. "I think that decision has now been made!" Echo shot at Caine and rushed forward to the mad vampire.

Yes Sir. Eve gave a playful salute. She knew not how to materialize like her elder, but with the utmost elegance, took the slippery metal rail of the fire exit nearest and halted herself atop the roof. Crouching down behind the low wall she had a perfect view of the scene, and of Arzachel on the building parallel. Who do you plan on aiding? The fear she felt previously was replaced with a fervent desire to join battle. Her need to expel the years of pent energy was immediate. No longer can I stand passively by.

Arsenii's eyes could no better portray utter surprise and anger. He stopped all of his current taunting and flew urgently towards his companion. He snatched Tika from the male's grasp, pulling her petite frame tightly against his own body. His stance was that of a defensive parent, protecting it's kin. "Do you desire death that badly!?" Arsenii aimed his weapon at the stranger and spoke through gritted teeth. His free hand lay on Tika's head, pressing it to his chest.

Caine took the opportunity and joined Echo in the attack. Arsenii's back was turned. Both of them at once. Most convenient! He took Arsenii by the arm in attempt to slam him to the ground. However, not only was this Nosferatu older, he was much larger.

Arsenii, though shocked, turned upon Caine with the most malevolent gaze. Tightening the muscle in his arm, he released Tika from his grip and pushed the Aeacus back. As Caine stumbled back the sound of gunfire echoed. Arsenii let out a brief chuckle as blood gushed out of the head wound, down Caine's immaculate face. He watched the vampire pathetically stammer backwards, clutching his forehead in disbelief, then fall into a rain puddle alongside the curb. "We'll have to get him in the heart later, to make sure he's dead."

Adelle covered her mouth in aghast. Now the real trepidation settled in her chest. That could be the very image of her father is he wasn't careful.

"I could ask the same thing about you monster. In the time I have seen you all you have spouted is ravings of madness and death. I was merely trying to save this child from a grisly demise thanks to your insane ideas. Your careless attitude will not save her nor you when the time comes for retribution." Darilus said as the young vampire was taken from his loose grip. He was glad he was not holding the young vampire tightly or she could have been seriously injured when she was taken away.

One thing surprised Darilus though and that was the seeming tenderness the other vampire held the girl. Maybe he was not completely right about him turning against her but the vampire was such a loose cannon it made sense the girl was in danger. "Give up these foolish notions if not for your own safety then for that of your young ward." Darilus said as a gamble. He was not afraid of the vampire even if his tactics were a little underhanded and Darilus hadn't feed in some time. The fresh blood from the shot vampire wafted to his nose and he did his best to think clearly regardless of the temptation of it.
