There were five guards present near the lift door. Once they saw the shadow, and the green eyes, they were quick to act. Three of them clicked on high intensity LED lights on their rifles and leveled them at Trinity. A fourth reached into his pouch and pulled out a flash-bang grenade. He pulled the pin and cooked it while the goggles on their helmets adjusted for the brightness of the lights. After he counted to two he lobbed the grenade toward the cloud of smoke.

The fifth guard put a radio to his mouth and screamed, "Code black! I repeat, we have a code black!"

A fire alarm went out through the facility. The "employees" scrambled to weapons lockers as the guards stationed on the metal scaffolds yanked tarps off of eight Klieg searchlights. They began to sweep and search for any signs of shadow manipulation.

Trinity dropped through her shadow within the fog and then emerged behind the squad who had the guns aimed at now an empty lift. While Trinity took a step forward she used her shadow manipulation to seal the bullets within the gun barrels. “What’s the matter boys, afraid of the dark?” she said with a flair of her glowing green eyes.

Rikki Tikki Travi
Theresa blew up the truck farthest from the area Trinity was in which caused the building to shake and windows to shatter.

As the guns turned to her and the triggers were pulled, nothing happened. The dawning on their faces that they were so easily disarmed came across their face as oh s**t!

Trinity smirked, took her stance, and with her hand gestured bring it on. They were now an unarmed civilian militia who felt much less without their toys available. Those who were foolish enough to try to fight her fell within minutes with the use of punches kicks and certain and precise pressure points. They fell one, by one.

Liam gained a soft smile as he noticed her wanting to lean in before completely doing a 360 and laughing out loud because of the TV show. Some kind of home video's show. He had to admit, despite it not going how he wanted to, he liked hearing her laugh, despite not understanding the joy in seeing another person in pain. Liam just took the opportunity to take a piece of chicken.

Rydia's mind raced as she looked into Ravan's panicked eyes. "Ravan, listen to me! You need push against the pressure with your power. It's the only way you'll buy enough time for the chamber to pressurize."

Thankfully, Ravan had been doing just that, but the lack of oxygen sapped what strength she had very quickly. She could feel something in her trying to claw its way out, but she did not want Sara to see that side of her. Ever.

She felt a few of her ribs crack just as she lost what strength she had, but due to Sara's quick thinking that was the only injury she suffered. The pressure evened out just in time for her lungs to catch air just before they were punctured. She gasped and coughed as the inner door to the ship opened.

Rydia ripped off her helmet, effortlessly scooped Ravan into her arms, and then called out, "Vela, light the way to medical."

There were two chirps and a soothing female voice replied, "Right away, Princess."

Lights along the corners of the hallway pulsed and flowed further into the ship. Rydia walked as quickly as she could and entered the medical room. An exam table adjusted itself to her height and allowed her to place Ravan down without issue.

Sara followed Rydia as she carried Ravan down the halls. Noticing the lights along their path. She was worried for Ravan, hoping Rydia would be able to help her.

Rikki Tikki Travi
"Sorry, but Vela wont be able to get a good read with all this on." Rydia said apologetically. She used her spirit claws to tear away and split Ravan's dive suit like it was a hot knife through butter. When she was done Ravan was left in her wetsuit. She was happy to see that there were no deformities or outward bleeding, but she had to be certain.

Rydia took two steps back and commanded, "Vela, scan for injuries."

Two chirps. "One moment please." A pair of mechanical arms with what looked like black lights at the ends of them extended from within the exam table and ran gentle blue lights over Ravan.

Ravan coughed and immediately felt the pain in her lower chest. She moaned in pain, but she did her best to remain still. That was not the first time she had been under the lamps of medical scanners.

Two chirps. "Ribs eleven and twelve are broken bilaterally. Hairline fractures present in ribs nine and ten bilaterally. Ecchymosis present at extremities. Patient displays abnormal genetic profile not applicable to either human or meta-human. Prognosis: patient will [recover] completely with two to six weeks bedrest. Note: genetic abnormality may expedite healing process. Recommendation: patient should remain secured and supine for the duration of any planned flights in the next twenty-four hours."

Sara’s eyes widen when Rydia ripped apart Ravan’s dive suit. She supposed it made sense so that a clear scan could happen. She wasn’t expecting the suit to be taken apart right then and there. She couldn’t help but think of Gidget’s hard work ripped to shreds in that instant. Regardless, she was relieved that she didn’t see any outside deformities or bleeding. She found herself blushing a little catching her herself looking too closely. She cleared her through and looked away as she was scanned. She listened carefully to the diagnosis oh my, poor Ravan…she thought to herself.

Rikki Tikki Travi
Rydia sighed, "Thank goodness. Sara, can you stay with her while I see to getting this thing running?"

Sara nodded, then approached Ravan. She held her hand rubbing her knuckles with her thumb and shared a thought how are you holding up? She looked to her with concern. She could only imagine the pain she felt. She really wished she could heal or do something to ease her friend’s pain.

She could have a probed her mind to get a sense of what pain she felt but chose not to. Not only did she not want to invade Raven’s privacy. But in the process of delving deeper into her mind, she would end up feeling that same pain instead of just witnessing it.

The sheer chaos created by Theresa, and the surgical strikes of Trinity, made quick work of the security. When the smoked settled, the only thing that could be heard were the alarms that had not been turned off failing to drown out the moans of the people Theresa had crippled.

Theresa rolled over to Trinity and skid to a halt. Her feet returned to normal, and her faceplate slid aside to reveal her face. She saluted again with a proud smile. "All done. Threats neutralized without any fatalities."

Her beaming, innocent smile was a stark juxtaposition to the wails of agony that could be heard in the main warehouse. She had learned that killing people was considered wrong, but the notion of cruelty was still something that she had to work on. It was not helped by Freya's positive reinforcement of Theresa's more violent tendencies.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Freya gleefully turned her mind off and enjoyed every last pratfall and funny pet. She tore through her food, and made her compliments to the chef known with the occasional burp or belch.
After the home video show came another program in the same vein. It was a show where contestants were expected to maneuver through obstacles made primarily of foam and rubber. The first round of players had just finished when Freya scoffed, "Pft, look at these scrubs! How hard could that possibly be? Betcha I could ace that s**t."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ravan grasped Sara's hand and sighed, "I'm ********' golden. I dunno what the li'l robot gave me, but I feel like I'm floating without floating."

Her mind, hazy from the pain killer, was free from inhibition. She remembered something that Reyhan would do to show that she was okay. Ravan gently pulled Sara's hand and opened her palm. She took a deep breath and placed Sara's palm where Ravan's heart could be felt.

"See, still goin'." she said with quiet reassurance.

Liam grabbing the last piece of chicken looked at Freya. Though he looked at the show as well. The majority of his time was spent looking at her. but not all that obvious. All of her micro expressions, her enjoyment of both the food, the series and his presence. Despite of what he wanted, she needed a friend. That is what he would be for her right this evening. Liam was glad she was feeling better during all of this.

The new show was interesting. It tested the reflexes, agility and adaptability of the participants.

"Yes,, I do believe you would 'ace' that s**t." Liam stated as he was about to take a bite of the last piece of chicken before a thought hit him that Freya could perhaps try and steal it from him. But he would be prepared for that by moving it further away from her, should it come to that.

Liv was ready for the rather slow responses from Roland. He moved and acted like an amateur. As the fountain pen dug into his hand, he fired off a shot that widely missed Liv.

The woman charged forward, fist going low into an uppercut into the solar plexus before moving behind him and holding him there for Heather to pummel him.

Sara felt her hand touching hers guiding it to where her heart would reside. She felt the warmth on her cheeks as she sensed her heart beating. Sara nodded in agreement and smiled softly.

Her mind reached out to Rydia How’s it looking? Will we be able to surface soon? She listened to Rydia’s response.

There’s something I was wondering that Vela when she was diagnosing Ravan. Something about her having a “genetic profile not applicable to either human or meta-human”. Do you think it’s because she’s from the future or could it be something else?

Trinity raised an eyebrow at the condition the people that were in pain. This didn’t feel right to her and she felt conflicted. The methods that were used seemed to be overkill. Although Trinity was guilty for similar injuries thanks to Freya’s training she knew when to apply such measures. She looked to the men she rendered unconscious … she took to account that she had disarmed them and that they were no longer lethal threats. They were mislead civilians.

Trinity looked to Theresa’s smiling face, this needed a little more discussion of when to apply such methods and when to hold back. It was clear she wanted to adhere to the requirements of the task at hand and she did fulfill that. Trinity figured it may not hurt to bring Gidget to the conversation. “No deaths, great start. However there’s always room for improvement. Let’s return to Valhalla for a debrief.”

She quickly sent Gidget a letting her know that we were heading back but felt conflicted about the methods that were used. With that she held out her hand and they went straight back to Gidget’s lab.

Freya gave Liam a side eye as he moved the chicken further away from her. "Oh, I see. You think I'm gonna nab your chicken. That I'm so lacking in self control that I'd just HAH!"

With a quick lunge, Freya jumped across Liam's lap and tried to snatch the chicken out of his hand. "That chicken is mine! It was made for me!" she shouted; quoting one of her favorite horror manga.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The air was knocked out of Roland's lungs as he reflexively grasped his stomach, which opened him up to a full nelson from Liv.
Heather was so eager to permanently knock that s**t eating grin off his face that she forgot a rule of fist fights. Never try to punch teeth.
She popped him in the teeth and immediately scraped her knuckles against them. She immediately knew where she went wrong, but she could not help but pull her hand back in pain.
Roland snapped his neck back in an attempted to smash Liv in the face with the back of his head.
Rydia had just turned the ships main lights back on when she got the mental ping from Sara.
It should only take a few more minutes. The engines have to warm up after so much time being off.
Then she heard the question about Ravan's genetic profile. Rydia knew what Ravan was. She had seen the girl's massive, yet unstable, power in person. She could not remember the term Silhouette had used to describe it, but she knew that Ravan was essentially a demigod.
There was a momentary pause as Rydia thought about how best to answer Sara's question. After another second she decided the best answer should not come from her.
I'm sorry, but that's not my truth to tell. If you really want to know, ask Ravan. I'm guessing she was given pain medication. In that case she'll be more likely to be completely honest. It's up to you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Gidget turned in her chair and stood up. "I'm so glad you girls are okay, and there isn't even a scratch on either of you."

Theresa bounced on her toes and shrunk down to her teenage size. The nano-suit kept up and adjusted accordingly. She looked from Gidget to Trinity and chirped, "I did exactly what you said, Gidget! I listened to Trinity, backed her up when she needed it, and I did it all without killing anyone. Right, Trinity?"

Gidget looked to Trinity and knit her brow a little bit. She could tell something was wrong from the way her "big sister" looked. Well, not exactly wrong, but definitely not quite right either.

"Did you now? Let's see what your senior warrior has to say about your performance."

Liv knew what was coming as it was part of their little combo. Still....always did find it odd that the one that wasn't a Dragon was the one taking the most risks. Then again...she was the one that healed.

Roland hit her straight in the face with the headbutt causing her bleed from the nose, but not for long.

"Ah..b***h!"

Liv grunted before dropping herself lower, wrapping her hands around his waist to flip him over her in a german supplex.

"Yes, I thi-" Liam managed to reply before Freya leaped towards the last piece of chicken. His natural height and male build gave him an advantage in reach. Liam chuckled a bit as she tried to reach it before holding it straight up above him, arm fully stretched out.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 09, 2025 5:14 pm

Roland could feel his feet start to lift the ground. He immediately threw himself to the side in order to throw off the momentum of Liv's supplex. It sent them both toppling over to the right with Roland landing hard on his arm. What everything he could muster, he wriggled against Liv's grip and tried to pull himself to the gun that was a little over an arms length away. He would never cross that distance, though.

Heather was quick on the follow and punted Roland's face like a football. The fight was immediately taken out of him as tears welled up in his eyes and his nose poured blood. He gripped his face and shouted loudly into his hands.

Heather took a few breaths and swept the to the other of the room with her foot. She then walked over to the remote that controlled the anti-meta field, picked it up, and pressed the single button on the device. The field dropped, and the girls immediately felt the return of their powers. Heather took a long, deep breath as she felt her inner flame stir. As she exhaled, her right arm flashed with fire and became draconic.

She knelt down next to him and held her open palm in front of his face. It began to glow with slowly increasing heat. "You're going to tell us everything you and your shitty little friends have planned."

He glared at her through his fingers and spit a combination of blood and saliva onto her hand. It immediately evaporated. She grimaced and pressed her index finger against his forehead. He hollered as the smell of burning flesh began to waft around the three of them. She removed her finger and grabbed his hair with her left hand. "You think I'm bluffing?! I've killed before! A little torture doesn't mean s**t to me!"

He began to laugh and hissed, "You...are so much like your father."

Heather pupils became slits. She grit her pointed teeth and growled; flames licked out of the corners of her mouth. She reared her right arm back and prepared to leave a hand shaped brand on Roland's face.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Freya laughed and straddled Liam's lap in order to get a better position. She lifted onto her knees and reached as hard as she could for the last chicken. "Keep away?! I'm kung fu panda up in this b***h! You can't keep food from me!"
She did not realize it, but the position she put herself in pressed her sternum directly into Liam's face. At the time, she did not care. She just wanted the chicken.
She shifted her weight to try and stand on the couch.
He liked her laugh, that glint in her eyes, her attempt to-
His train of thoughts were interrupted by the sudden loss of vision and warm softness on his face. Instinctively he blinked a few times before leaning back a bit which in this case did not help as Freya just tried to get up to snatch the chicken. As his mind short-circuited, he no longer moved the chicken piece away from her.
Liv lost her balance as Roland. She tightened her grip around his waist with all she could. Her upper body strength was never that good. For her it was always her lower body. But then he stopped struggling as she saw Heather kick him in the face. Atta-girl. Pulling her arm out from underneath him, she got up wiping her bloody nose on the back of hand. Then she felt it. That connection to something greater. Her nose stopped bleeding, the small bruises from before vanished.
Before Heather could permanently scar Roland she caught her wrist. Wincing before letting go. The burned skin healing as she did.
"Don't dirty your claws....hands on him." Her eyes shifted into the infinity symbol as she looked at Heather. The intensity was basically off for that.
"I'll get you the information." Liv said. She never liked the thought of Heather getting her hands dirty in this kind of way. That should be for people like her.
Turning her gaze back to Roland, her gaze intensifying but nowhere near her maximum. After all, she didn't want to make him insane. Just to see what the plan was.
PostPosted: Sun Apr 20, 2025 4:20 pm
"Hah!" Freya called out triumphantly. "I finally ******** beat you! S-U-C-C-E-S-S! That's the way you spell success." She popped the chicken in her mouth with smug satisfaction and looked at Liam. "What? The ******** is that look for?"
She looked down at her shirt and brushed it off. She noticed there was a funny dark spot in the center. She wondered what that could've been. She looked up at Liam and the look on his face. Then back down at her shirt. Then back at him. Then back at her shirt. It suddenly clicked, and she got very very quiet.
To her, it felt like her entire body went hot with embarrassment. Her face turned redder than it did when he confessed to her. Her expression went completely stone faced. With very measured movements she put the chicken bone down on the plate, tapped her five fingers together as she thought, picked up a throw pillow from the couch, walked to the bathroom, and shut the door behind her.
Despite her face being buried in a cushion, her scream could be heard where Liam sat.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Heather's fury immediately melted away when she realized she had burned Liv. She knew there would not be any permanent burns, but one of the thing she was constantly afraid of was burning her girlfriend during a heated ********, Liv! I just-"

She was cut off by Liv's offer. Heather sighed with resignation and nodded as she watched Liv search Roland's mind.

It was not isolated to Knoxburg, and it was not just Roland. He was in charge of that regions chapter of the Prometheus Watch, but he was not at the top. In fact, there was no one at the top. He was part of a human supremacist conclave that had been put into action the moment Daedalus was destroyed and the raid on Valhalla had failed. There were six others, all of ludicrous means, that had roused and rallied the then fledgling Prometheus militia and turned it into it's own paramilitary. Their end goal was to facilitate a nation wide "Night of Long Knives."

The only problem? Roland had jumped the gun. His hatred for Heather, and his overconfidence in his chapter, pushed him to execute his plan a month before it was ready. He put in a call to Vera Claiborne as soon as the meeting was over; knowing that she would feel the need to warn Heather as soon as possible. Once that was done, he ordered the rest of his chapter to begin kicking down doors and try a surprised attack on Valhalla.

He was alone. The other six oligarchs refused to act with him. He knew the towns storehouse had been hit, most likely by Trinity, and he had lost contact with the Valhalla strike team moments after they arrived. He held out hope that his shock troopers would at least kill one meta-human each.

He glared at Liv and snarled, "Stare at me all you want, I wont talk!"

Trinity felt conflicted and Gidget could tell. On the one hand Theresa did follow orders. On the other hand how she had achieved those results was a little overkill. She needed a word with Gidget first. Trinity didn’t want to conflict with Freya’s training or say something that would prevent her from tapping into this level of pain if there was a need to. It’s not always clear or cut dry when to apply such methods or hold back. Moments like this she wished Teshoumaru was around. He was the discipline to Freya’s wild side. Freya would encourage her violent tendencies and Teshoumaru would scale that back. She remembered the last time he scolded her for cutting loose on a mission after a rough breakup. Though Theresa looked like she’s old enough to know better she was still a child.

“Before we touch on that I need to share some intel from our mission with Gidget. If you don’t mind Theresa could you give Gidget and I a moment. We’ll bring you back in, in a moment.”

As Theresa made her exit just outside the door.

Gidget knew the intel Trinity would share regarding the mission she already knew it was something else. “About Theresa’s approach… granted it did meet the requirements however her approach to meeting said requirements I find concerning.” She brings up one of the security cameras that Gidget had already had tapped into to show Theresa’s handy work. “I know if Freya saw this she’d be proud of her student. If Teshoumaru saw this he’d have a long talk about discipline and being responsible about one’s power. Me on the one hand, I’m not innocent in doing something similar in the past but I can not deny this feels wrong. On the other hand I do not want to discipline her to the extent that she doesn’t pull this out when we need her to in the fight ahead. How would you approach this? I did hint that there is always room for improvement.”

Liv gave her GF a quick kiss on the cheek and a wink.

"I know"

She let the information flow into her before staring directly at him, turning up the intensity a bit. Not enough for insanity but definitely enough for him to feel 'seen'

"Night of Long Knives. Six others...all rich ******** like you. Nation wide. But you ******** up. You're on your own." Liv stated tilting her head a bit as her eyes widened and dug deeper." Heather...could you Trinity a call? Tell her we've got a higher ranking member of Prometheus incoming."

Liv crouched and got her face really close to Rolands. She'd know if he'd try something as cowardly as suicide through some cyanide capsule in the teeth type of s**t. And she would stop it.

"You'd wish talking would get you out of this." Liv snarled as she increased the intensity of her eyes, showing him just brief flashes of what could happen. It's not in her best interest or anyone's for him to go insane. So she won't do that. But she would make him squirm.

He heard her talk. Of course he did. But his mind was just playing that moment on repeat. Liam noticed her going redder than before. Trying to snap himself out of it, he saw Freya got up with a pillow and walk past him.

Then he heard the loud but still muffled scream. Literally shaking his head a few times to get the thought out of his mind, he got up and started cleaning up. Something to distract himself. As he did so...he couldn't help but chuckle a bit before laughing. The absurdity of it all.

"What a,,,,strange day."

Sara looked up at the lights as he turned on. Her eyes saddened when she heard her answer in her mind, but understood why she couldn’t share. Her thoughts, weighed upon whether or not she needed to know right now. Ravan was still on the exam table still breathing, but not in the best shape. Though the pain medications kicked in, it didn’t feel right to take advantage of her state of mind. Part of her wanted to ask right then and there while it was still fresh on her mind. But she couldn’t bring herself to ask. She rubbed her arm as she came to this decision.
