::There was a slam, a clash, a gust, and an explosion of steam. All in the span of a minute. The slam was the sound of the arm careening off course as the bundle was cut and slamming into the a spot of flesh behind Vahn. Instead of the usual metallic bending sound, there was the clashing sound of glass cracking and nearly shattering. The gust was caused by coolant flying from the cracked glass casting, knocking off loose flab, and loose skin. The explosion of steam, was Vahn's armor shutting down. In a gust of steam grew lighter and lighter, and yet more and more transparent before finally waffing away in a gust of red steam, spiralling around Vahn for a few moments before slipping into the red gem on the deactivated bracelet. Vahn was left in his ordinary clothes, the beast was cripped. And a glowing cylindrical chamber beneath the layers of flesh beckoned the fire warriors attention. As the mist cleared, or was wiped off the cracked glass case, Vahn would see a symbol. The heart of the giant beast. And behind the symbol, a scruffy red haired man he knew very well. A man by the name of Sunstrike. The glass was thick, but nothing he couldnt handle. His quest was a success! Hooray!::

With nothing left in him, he fell to his knees, his slanted vision staring down.
"Huh...huh...huh...just..a sec.."
Slumping forward, even as the Fang impacted in the ground not that far from him.
And a lone wolf watched.

Hey, you.
Well, that was certainly... interesting. A man sat in a heap, weapon jammed into the hardened, scorched earth beside him.
...Hey.
Lazenca padded forward, eyes on the man who survived the ordeal. He swung wide to see the man's face, and so that the guy didn't think someone was sneaking up behind him for an attack or anything like that. A few seconds, and he was able to see... the top of the man's head.
"Hey! Are you alive, or what?
Lazenca sat down ten feet in front of the guy who was radiating something fierce, something akin to--
WAIT.

"Who the hell's askin'!" Lifting his head up, those eyes of his were narrowed and the triedness in his voice betrayed the state he was in.
He reached out with his left hand and took hold of the Fang, righting himself right back up fully and bringing the blade out to bear.
"Another voice in my head? I'm seein' s**t now? That it?" His words were half mumbled and half spoken within his head, as he stared down again.
"Well ******** you and your voices. Just gonna get....this.."
Jabbing the blade downward with both hands, he aimed at the glass partition, growling loudly.

"That's the problem... you're not seeing anything! Open your eyes... I'm right here."
Lazenca could recognize him, recognize the man named "Vahn." What Laz was still trying to fathom, was why he felt the same sense of sickness when he recognized the one before him, as when the explosion echoed not too long before this time. Eyes remained trained on Vahn, now poke-poking at a glass something with a symbol.
"Stop moving, you'll kill yourself. Just what're you trying to do?"

"Shut up! Shut up SHUUUUUTTTUPP!!"
His cries echoed out even as he brought the sword down again against the glass, sending spider webbing cracks all along it's surface.
"I know your there! I know dammit! I just want you here with me!"
Delirious much?

Yeah, Vahn was as cracked as the item he chipped away at. He could see now that the glass thing was breakable. But that still didn't tell him why Vahn was trying to get through. For another fight with an even bigger monster? For some treasure thought lost by time?
"What...."
Or a person?
"Is someone... in that?"
Welllll. Lazenca wasn't going to tackle the guy to the ground because that meant either Vahn would pass out due to injury and fatigue, or he'd end up fighting with a temporarily insane person. With Vahn being completely unresponsive, Lazenca simply remained seated and watched. Lazenca'd take actual action when Vahn got the pot of gold at the end of this glass rainbow... but for now, he'd just be a spectator.

"....!"
His vision would finally settle into place, as the question rebounded within his mind.
In that? Someone.... that...What?
He clutched at his face tightly as the blade was all but forgotten, the reeling headache and trembles of his body overhwelming him as he brought himself back to his feet.
Are you the flame....
His right fist clenched tightly, even as he brought both fists together.
...Or are you the man?
"COME INTO THE LIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!"
And with a double whammy, he impacted the cracked glass casing, his knuckles busting, skin ripping, even as the words of the watcher spurred him onward.
Who knew Lazenca had it in him.

Who knew Lazenca had it in him? He didn't know the exact effect he had on Vahn but this wasn't about Lazenca, who was trying to figure out a way to snap Vahn out of his trance and otherwise help. This was about the man desperately smashing the glass case, as if the lives of all mankind depended on him getting to this buried treasure. This was getting insane. Vahn was so beaten and delerious that he didn't notice his own bleeding hands. How long was this going to go on before something gave? And oh yes, something was going to give-- either the glass would shatter or Vahn's hands would break and he'd reel back in the pain of damaged digits.
If he had them in this state, his eyebrows would have furrowed as he watched this rather impresive feat of determination.
"Come on."
For now, until Vahn did reel away, Laz'd help him the way he's been doing... by letting him have this victory alone and providing the moral support. Or something like that.
"You've got this."
Because for what little he knew about Vahn, he knew the man had it in him. But with the shift up to Negative, he was ready to do more in case the need presented itself.

Nearly one year.
An. Entire. Friggin'. Year.
That's all that ran through his head right now, as he began to shatter the barrier with nothing but his bare fists at this point. He had been through too much fighting, too much bloodshed and drama to reach this point.
Only to be stopped by something as pitiful as a worn out body.
He's the other half of me I can't lose.
"Nngh-!"
The part of me I like to see.
"NNGH!"
What helps me to discover what it is--
With another yell, his right hand would pass right through the glass, blood flying as he reached in---
...The gravity of love.
"..God... help me..."

I don't want to die...
There was a pause, the creaking of heavy glass and the breath of the two men hanging in the air.
And Sunstrike's eyes opened to the world as his spirit was torn from another.
His feet came up of their own accord and slamed into the capsule from inside, even as a hand clamped round one of his arms and yanked with bruising force.
The already stressed cover broke completely and Sun was ripped out of his prison, his slumber...the peace. Into a cold world. He fell heavily against his saviour? Captor? Coughing and shuddering as the wires that connected started to pull and then rip off his back, his neck, blood escaping from disks the size of a small lid.
His eyes swirled with more then the ordinary colours, before going black at the edges as he shook.
Sunstrike was awake.

Blood and glass and ice and voices.
"I'm no god."
Was Vahn satisfied with this victory? The barrier had been breached.
"Right now, I probably stand in line with silent devils."
But he wasn't going to make it through this without collapsing. The mind was willing but the body was weak. How irresponsible of Lazenca to sit and watch this happen.
"But I don't suppose you don't care either way at this point."
Pushing forward, he met with the frantic man and his efforts. A large paw hand slowly lifted with a closed fist, and dropped down on the broadside of a jagged shard. He'd open the cage. Vahn would hear nothing of resting to allow Lazenca to do this... he was far too gone to hear more than the voices in his head. So the beating would continue like this-- a frantic Vahn and an apparently detatched Lazenca.

However not another single word would be heard coming from him, even as that arm gripped against the body.
And should Lazenca look closer, he would find that nobody was even home upstairs. At some point, Vahn had lost consciousness, his body continuing to move on it's own.
Until it had done what the man had promised to do.

Well at first, Lazenca was thinking that this was simply a result of the will. Sweat pouring into the eyes makes them shut, but the body knows that the end is nigh. And so it keeps working, just so the fruit of this labor could be so much sweeter.
"A person..."
This is the point where he'd look up to Vahn again and see that the man was among the walking sleep, body moving without the mind. A mental frown... this trance was going to end soon. Thankfully, the combined efforts had a great section of glass cleared... additional cuts and gashes would be minimized. The remaining act was to pull this person, and Vahn up.
Getting a grip wherever he could, Lazenca pulled up with both arms. An arm, trying for a temporary hold around the chest so that a bend and upward pull could do much in retracting the figure... something.
All until the moment the figure, covered in glass shards, would be brought from the ice cage. The effort was sure to make Lazenca fall back on his rear, and expected that Vahn was going to either stop moving or wake up, albeit tired as all get out.
What happened next depended on who was concious and who was sleeping.

Considering everything that was happened was directed at him, Sunstrike was the first to recover...sort of.
"W-w-wh...s**t," He was so cold his studdering was worse. Someone had carefully cut holes into the hoodie, which was fast becoming drenched with red blood and green goop from the capsule. His whole body was against him again, as he had to remind his legs and arms how to move.
At some point, probably when he was abley shakey enough to stand, he'd push the first person off of himself and scramble away from the other, slipping through the grip and hobbling sideways for a moment. It wasn't that he was unthankful, but Sun really was unsure what was going on.
Equalibrium maintained if not perfect...because half of him was still that small boy on the beach, he finally took stock of his surroundings, the flesh and blood soaked ground, the cold of the outside.
And where...where was the Hospital...?!
"Mary?!"
Sunstrike began to slowly lose his grip, even as he began to search, crawling up the snowpile the monster had left...he'd been ripped out of somewhere he was supposed to be...
