Kaede looked up at Hyuuga-san's words, trembling with a mixture of a happiness that made her heart soar and a dread that pulsed in the back of her mind. There was someone who was actually complimenting her! This amazing boy who could do all of those handseals so flawlessly, whose lineage comes from that of a genius clan, was actually complimenting her. Her, Shirayuki Kaede, whom nobody, not even she, herself, believed was capable of accomplishing anything.
And the thought of it made her warm, and happy. So much that Kaede found herself quietly crying and hiccuping, and hiding and wiping her face with her kimono sleeves, even though they were dirty with dirt, grass, and blood stains. 'How embarrassing!' Her cheeks flushed. Hopefully Hyuuga-san didn't see this pitifully sensitive and weak side of her.
And it all felt unnatural. It was so hard for her to grasp, so unheard of, that the whole situation seemed so fragile, as though it could collapse if she made a single mistake. Kaede feared that the most, because it seemed her whole life followed a common pattern. After two successes, the third would always be the reality check that brought her down. For that very reason, she didn't want to do the next seal, no matter how easy it looked. It was always the easy ones she fumbled on.
But.
But somewhere inside of her, Kaede wanted to believe in Hyuuga-san's words. The same way Hyuuga-san believed in her. And so, very hesitantly, the girl meekly peered up from her the curtains of her bangs and observed not the horse seal diagram in the scroll, but at Hyuuga-san's hands, believing it to be a better form of reference. Then, she curled her middle, ring, and pinky fingers, thumbs tucked against the sides of index fingers jutting out at a certain angle and cautiously made the effort to link them together.

Tairu looked intently at Kaede's hands and the intricate form of the hand seal. Tairu had a funny feeling in his gut so he kept looking at Kaede's hand for a little longer. He wasn't quite sure what was wrong and he also wasn't sure to how to convey that it was wrong. Tairu had never taught anyone anything before so he had no experience with telling people that they were wrong. "um Kaede.." he started kind of nervously as his eyes evaded Kaede's eyes. "I think um, that your hand seal is uh, incorrect." he paused, Should I leave it at that, maybe I should say something so I don't hurt her feelings, what should I say? This thought process was an agonizing battle raging inside of his head. Tairu knew what it felt like to get something wrong and he didn't want to cause that pain. "But I'm sure that if you try it again you'll definitely get it right, here look at my hands again." Tairu said as enthusiastically possible. He also formed the hand seal again so Kaede could look at it for reference.
Shinobi can help/hurt each other by either assisting/offering advice/cheering presence or being distracting. As a Student, you can give -1/+1 to others when they are doing lessons/training. +1 to Kaede

Her hands along with her face fell at those dreadful words. She should not be surprised that once again, she could not perform a simple handseal. And yet... she was? Why? The possibility that she would fail had always lingered in her mind, and now that prediction became true. The only difference between then and now was that she had allowed her to become arrogant, becoming something she wasn't. Yes... perhaps it was exactly what she needed to put her back in her place, to remind her of her worthlessness. There was a long way to go, before she could ever think of herself as a competent shinobi.
Kaede glared at her sleeves, and instead of looking at Hyuuga-san's hands like he suggested, she chose to look at the scroll she placed on his lap. There was no way the girl could meet him in the eyes without deepening the already immense wave of shame inside of her. The symmetry was off because she joined her fingers with her knuckles facing inwards. They were supposed to lined up touching knuckle to knuckle, but she didn't think about it. No, she didn't think about anything much, or anything at all. Stupid, stupid girl.
While Hyuuga-san's words of encouragement hid whatever disappointment Kaede was sure he was feeling, it wasn't enough to lift her self-esteem. The damage was still fresh on her mind. With detached eyes she made another attempt to form the horse handseal, this time prepared to expect another blunder on her part.

Repost: Forgot to roll Takeshi reached Training Grounds just about an hour after he left the Academy. When he approached the grounds, he was surprised to find not only the other student he knew, but someone else, possibly another student! He kept his surprise hidden behind an iron mask of neutral emotions, keeping a stern look on his face as he approached other students.
"Well this is a surprise," he said, his face barely changing at all. "I was wondering where you had went to." This was the only concern he was going to show for the other female student, as he quickly changed the subject. "Well if you need any help, just let me know. Now if you'll excuse me," he said and walked about ten feet away from where the other two students were. He stopped and started practicing the Henge no Jutsu. He picked up a pebble off of the ground and tried to transform into it. While doing so, he turned back and asked, "By the way, I forgot to ask for your names. Who are you two again?"
While he had turned to ask the question to the other students, he lost his concentration and accidentally messed up the hand seals, failing to do anything at all. "Crap," he said. "Need to concentrate on the hand seals."

What she didn't expect, however, was a vaguely familiar voice coming from behind her. Kaede turned her head around, maintaining her effort to avoid eye contact with Hyuuga-san, as she was still embarrassed about her inability to form the horse seal. 'Oh, its that boy who was training in the same classroom with her the academy!' she realized, eyes widening in surprise. Kaede curtly nodded at the other boy as a sign of recognition and acknowledgment.
She looked back at her hands to see that her horse seal fell apart from the distraction, yet another failure on her part. Strangely, enough, the other boy had failed, also distracted like she was. She didn't know what to think about it. Instead, she began to wonder if this was not a study session like she thought, but the location of where their academy sessions would begin. It would make sense, to her anyway, since the classroom had been so vacant when she had first entered. Perhaps her sensei was already here or making the effort to show up. The girl scanned the area for the second time that day, to see if he or her was around. However, no such adult approached them. At the boy's question, she looked back at his direction, startled. Right, her name...
"Um... I-I'm Shirayuki Kaede," she mumbled, voice growing softer and softer with each syllable of her name, shyly bowing her head. Her head remained tilted downwards, just enough to hide her face with her bangs.
Kaede's breathing increased from her nervousness in being around so many people, at least... being around three other people seemed like a lot to her. The girl opted to resume her study on the horse handseal, to lessen her discomfort. A deep inhale, and she combined her fingers together, making sure the knuckles were lined up against each other.

Looking up from his own failure, Takeshi saw that the other student had put the Horse seal together correctly.
"Good job, Kaede," he said. Takeshi pointed with his left hand to his left ear and said, "I have good hearing, so it doesn't matter if you mumble." He gave her a small smile as he said that, something that the girl named Kaede would come to know was a delicacy, as he rarely smiled, and even rarer did he smile, not because something was amusing, but just to comfort someone. But as soon as it came, the smile was gone, and Takeshi his head back to his hands and tried the jutsu again.
"Henge no Jutsu!" he said and failed miserably once again. It seemed to Takeshi that his bad luck had followed him from the Academy to the Training Grounds.
"Crap," he said as his fingers mangled together in trying to form one of the seals that made up the Henge no Jutsu.

Disappointed with his second failure, Takeshi pulled out his assignment scroll and reviewed the order in which he was to perform the hand seals. Then he reviewed the hand seals in question and made sure he was doing them right. He was, it was just the transition between one seal to another. Having revised this jutsu, he put the scroll away and found the pebble he had been using for his training.
"Henge no jutsu!" he said and he failed again. It was the transition between hand seals that kept messing him up. he got as far as the second seal and messed up the third, one finger getting stuck behind another. Takeshi fell backward, having used up all his chakra. His exaustion didn't make him pass out, it just took away the feeling in his legs. He laid there for awhile, regaining his chakra.

(Av, when it says -1 cp you need to also post you current chakra amount with each post and follow what ever it says for chakra use.)
Tairu was in the middle of teaching Kaede when a new boy approached. Tairu was at first excited by the prospect of meeting someone new, but then when the boy spoke he came off as arrogant to Tairu. Who the heck is this to just come here and act like a big shot. Tairu thought in reference to the boy's offer of assistance. No, I mustn't be judgmental. "Hello my name is Hyuuga Tairu." he said in response to the boy's question.
He then looked over to Kaede to see that she had performed the Uma hand seal correctly. "Very good Kaede, the next hand seal is the Saru (Monkey) hand seal," Tairu paused as he put his two palms horizontally together, and this how you form it." he finished. Alright only three more to goand we can move onto something else.

Takeshi got back up and looked back to the other student named Tairu and said, "Nice to meet you". He did not give this one a smile as he had given to Kaede, not because he had anything against the one call Tairu, but simply because he didn't know Tairu enough to be comfortable around him.
He decided to turn around towards the other two Academy students, in an attempt to include himself in their training group. Then he looked down to his hands and continued to practice his jutsu. "Crap," he said as he failed once again. He wasn't just failing, he was getting worse. Seeing his premonition that he couldn't complete the training alone. "Tairu, can you help me?" he asked unsure of what he had just done. He was always sure that whatever he set his mind to, he could do on his own. Yet here he was, asking for help from another student, acknowledging the fact that he couldn't do everything on his own. This was a critical stage in Takeshi becoming more mature: realizing his weaknesses.

Awaiting Tairu's answer, Takeshi sat down on a tree stump and laid down. He was exausted, having used up all of his chakra. His legs felt weak, his fingers numb for lack of chakra and being basked together into incorrect hand seals, and his head felt dizzy. He had to take a break, being unable to continue the Henge no Jutsu. Then Takeshi remembered that the assignment scroll mentioned practicing a jutsu, without actually performing the jutsu. He pulled out the assignment scroll and looked for the assignment he had remembered.
For the first part of the Bunshin training, the students would practice their handseals: Tiger, Boar, Ox, and Dog while building up their chakra.
"This is something I should be able to do," Takeshi thought. He tried to do the hand seals in quick succession, while building up the chakra that he was gaining back from resting. It wasn't much, not enough to actually perform the jutsu, but it would have to do.
He failed, his fingers sticking together while trying to perform the first hand seal. It was just like he had tried to do with the Henge no Jutsu. He looked down at his clumsy hands. "They were better at punching that tree," he thought.

She nodded at his smile, not sure what to think of the meaning behind that smile. Was it a jab at her soft spoken voice? Or was he smiling out of pride for his hearing? Kaede had no clue. However, she did think that, somehow, the boy looked much more friendlier and approachable than back in their classroom at the academy when they were training, at the same time but not together. Watching the other boy try hard and fail... she wanted to help him out but had no idea what he was doing, still trying to learn the basics herself.
And as she tried to formulate some way to encourage him- 'How do you encourage someone?'- Kaede realized something, she didn't know how to address him. Did that boy ever give them his name? Or, maybe she was so stupid she forgot. It was probably the latter, knowing her and her incompetence. So she went back to learning the monkey seal, eyes honed on listening, until someone said his name in passing conversation. Kaede was too meek to ask, or to explain to the boy that she forgot his name. It would be mean, it might hurt his feelings, and it would make her look stupid. He could remember her name, why couldn't she give him the same courtesy?
Her palms faced each other, yet inversely, with fingers facing the other hand's palm and she brought them together with a soft clapping sound. Kaede nervously bit her lip and waited for Hyuuga-san's assessment, apprehension of making another mistake in her form.

Tairu looked at Takeshi and said "I'd be happy to help you but first I want you to tell me your name." Tairu was willing to help anybody as he would like others to help himself if need be. Tairu then looked over to Kaede how was trying to form the Saru hand seal. As Tairu looked at her hands he once again got the feeling that she was doing something wrong. "Kaede, why don't you take another look at my hands and try again." Tairu said as he demonstrated the Saru.

At those words, Kaede frowned, frustrated at herself. Her hands fell down at her sides, grabbing randomly at grass nearby. They were squeezed and twisted in her fists, and she could feel her fingers becoming wet. This will probably stain her fingers, and as she released her fists and held her hands out in front of her, Kaede found that she was right. But it helped release her anger, quietly, out of notice. The girl rubbed her hands on her thighs, glad that she had passed the course syllabus scroll on to Hyuuga-san's lap or it'd have grass stains.
What was she doing wrong this time? Kaede glanced down at her hands and then she looked at Hyuuga-san's hands. Hands facing each other. Okay. Fingers rested on the other hand's palms. Okay. Her thumbs- oh! They should be resting in the crook between the pinky and the ring fingers of her opposing hand. She mentally kicked herself for not noticing that crucial detail. A shaky inhale. Then, with that information in mind, Kaede made her second attempt at the monkey seal.
