I HATE YOU WITH A PASSION
((Off topic, but I'm glad to see you and a few of my old friends are still roleplaying. biggrin ))

(Yeah, still around. Gotta admit, though, there's these rough patches for me lately where I just have no clue what to write, and then I force it and I just don't like what comes out. Just gotta work through, yeah? I'm glad you came back. Now all we need to do is convince Raven to change her mind wink )

"And as the Ascended One danced into Heaven, the Revenant Guardian returned..."

"Don't worry, Inferno." Raven purred, the cat-like pupils of her irises narrowing to slits as she addressed the unspoken concern. Her gaze lingered on Cynthia, knowing Wyndom was opposite of her. Traversing the contours of the woman's armor, she could just make out the dent that had previously kept the woman from being able to breathe. Without consciously realizing it, as she was becoming less aware of the world around her, save for the one spot she had in her mind, her natural Matreyan accent surfaced, the smooth, purring hiss of her demonic heritage became evident, "She wont bite."

Already a third and fourth beam would manifest. With a fling of the Talisman, she hurled it like a javelin, thrusting it up into the air before it slammed into the ground, the rings made a lasting echo before ebbing to silence. Canting her head, Raven trained her gaze on Cynthia, along the chest plate. She was familiar with the elements composed. The craftsmanship was impeccable--it clearly defined the woman's strengths, utilized them to her advantage. Scratches, dents, and marks of battle swam into her vision. How easy would it be? She could see nothing else, process nothing more. In that precise moment she had become the most vulnerable warrior present.

Blood began to seep from her nose, and she grit her teeth, her sheer concentration shifting to Cynthia, trapped between Wyndom, herself, Seraph, and Jesta'. She enforced her Will on the armor, the ethereal nature encroaching upon the armor, like some unseen fog, swirling, drifting, snaking out into the air and brushing the surface delicately. It took every ounce of her concentration to turn her usually defensive ability into something dangerously offensive. It was only her ability as an Ascended Guardian that even allowed this.

Negi-Ukia

PostPosted: Thu Jan 17, 2013 11:38 pm

Negi would hang back and watch, but something didn't seem right. It wasn't that anything was effecting the surrounding abnormally, but something that just was unbalanced. Not really worrying about it he would continue to watch the fight go on like everyone else. Suddenly he felt the presence of two spirits, and a slight drop in his energy. Two spirits would appear in their natural element; there Arim, spirit of fire, and Rathe, spirit of lightning, would show themselves. They did not care for the battle nor would they expect to delay it. The summoner would be shocked because he did not call upon his spirits, so he knew something was wrong. "What are you all doing here?" Still shocked, "I did not call upon your assistance, so what is wrong my friends?"

Rathe would step forward, "Master something is wrong..." the spirit would close his eyes.

Then Arim would step forward next to the spirit of lightning, "The pact with Oni's spirits have been broken..." She would drop her head showing sympathy for the spirits.

As soon as Arim mentioned that the pact was broken the summoners eyes opened fully. "Wha..." He couldn't help grab his chest, and a lone tear would run down his face. To him his spirits were everything... Friends, family, and the thought of losing any of them would destroy him... If that had really happened to Oni he knew it would be a living hell for his brother. Quickly gaining his bearings, and he would look at Lucas who just tumbled backwards. "I have to go Oni needs my assistance I really do not mean to leave in a time of such need, but this cannot wait even for a second." Negi cared for the earth, but to hold such a bond with beings for so long as he could remember, and his brother the same, to lose that connection was worse than death to summoners.

Looking back to his spirits, and wave a hand to Arim to dismiss her. With a blaze she would be gone, but Rathe however would remain. "Merge with me Rathe." Lightning would flash towards him showing the two were becoming one. Negi would stand there appearing the same as normal, but still different. "I hope you don't mind be leaving like this..." Waiting for a response from the imperfect one before he would leave.

[A Scheduled Visit]

"Hm. I hope he finds Yaabashael accommodating! Now then..."

It wouldn't take long for Papillon to guide Sabriel through the Cathedral's halls and winding stairways before they reached the top floor. The two would arrive at a set of large doors. Aaron's presence was very distinguishable here as well as the thickened tension that polluted the air. Papillon would knock at the doors twice before pushing them open for Sabriel to see the Seraph standing silently by the windows of his domain. "Sir, I introduce to you, Sabriel Megalith! She has been looking for Lucas and would like an audience with you."

Papillon smiled to Sabriel, bowing once before floating away to attend to other matters. Sabriel would perhaps notice first that there was a gaping hole in the middle of the ground between Aaron's desk and the doorway. The two guards stationed within the room remained quiet and posted to each side of the door without motion. Their glistening armor glowed from the diffused light of the stained glass windows, the room dancing in a soft and beautiful hue of color. Aaron's wings were firmly folded in and were blocking most of his figure until he turned around with an intrigued look on his face. His moment of thought would end as he turned to greet his guest. "Sabriel Megalith? I've heard you've traveled quite a ways to get here. How may I help you today? Ah, and please excuse this hole here. I'd offer you a seat but I'm afraid my chairs have fallen through..."
If Sabriel peered down into the hole she would see that several floors had been broken through! Just how far down did this hole go? Or rather just what had happened here?

Laughing once, Aaron stepped forward and edged towards the giant hole in his floor. It was clear that he was not pleased about however that hole had gotten there. But he would still give Sabriel his attention and his hospitality if he could. However something still seemed off about this meeting...Aaron stood tall, nearly imposing himself upon the smaller framed fairy with his presence. His stern, silver eyes gazed down upon her as he stood with a small smile curved on his lips. The Seraph would clasp his hands together in anticipation of what Sabriel might have to say or ask of him. It wasn't often that he received visitors from Earth. Although he was more intrigued that Sabriel was looking for Lucas.

Now that Sabriel was here she could start getting some answers.

Sabriel Megalith

[ Sir Aaron's Office ]

"He is from human realms. I tend to find that humans can be appeased with some of the simplest of things should they stray into realms such as yours and mine, due to the fact they can become most enamored with their foreign surroundings."

"Of course, that being said, I am quite taken by the architecture that I am encountering here in Yaabashael."
Naturally the fairy wasn't about to impose such architecture on her own people, but she was quite impressed with it, even if she did feel like the walls were beginning to close in on her.
The soup-like tension in the air didn't seem to help her claustrophobia, but watching Papillon, he didn't seem affected by it, so she pegged it down to being a natural attribute of the city.

Unfortunately for Sabriel she became so lost in her thoughts as they climbed the staircase that it wasn't until Papillon was knocking on the doors that she realized she hadn't had a chance to as for a moment to straighten herself out and make herself presentable.
Dreading to think what she looked like, she stood as tall and as proud as she could possibly manage with all of her luggage and travel mussed appearance.
Looking around the room she could have almost been forgiven for thinking she was back home in the throne room of Solas for the two rooms were similarly designed.
That was until she came across the imposing hole in the floor though.
The hole did not look like it fitted with the rest of the room and looked like it went down quite a few floors, taking most of the floor space with it.

"Many thanks for your willingness to provide me with an audience Sir Aaron."
Putting her bags on the floor at her feet, Sabriel curtsied at the taller Seraph.
Despite the skirt of her dress only coming to her knee, she still achieved her aim of making the action look graceful and effortless while maintaining her modesty.
"You are quite correct. I have travelled from Réimse Sí or the Fairy Realms in common tongue."
Due to the lack of visible wings and slightly pointed ears, Aaron could of been forgiven for mistaking her not for a fairy but for an elf especially when her diminutive size was brought into account.
"I was hoping that I would be able to find a dear friend of mine here, Lucas for I believe he may have the answers to some of the problems currently plaguing my kingdom."
Because of her extensive time in the human realms she had become used to looking up at people but as she had recently spent a few years in the fairy realms she was no longer as accustomed to the strain it put on her neck and by now, she was beginning to feel the pain.
"I'm sorry, but this may sound like a strange request, but do you mind kneeling?"
Sapphire blue eyes met sliver with a look of hopefulness. Most people were more than happy to accommodate her request as they could understand her problem, however some refused, for what reasons she could never answer, so she hoped that Sir Aaron would be in the more accommodating group.

[Between the Lines]

"Hm! Glad to know that you're so willing. This book I'm looking for can't be found in the public archives. And I don't trust a simple servant or Guild warrior to retrieve it. This book is one of our older ones that have records on alchemy and transmutations. It's something that clashes with our angelic sorcery and miracles...but it has been studied. Unfortunately it's being kept with someone. I figure you're important enough to ask for the book if I can't find this person."

By now Makenzie had leaned back against a wall, folding her arms in front of her while tapping her heel against the solid structure of the safe house. She'd continue on after a moment of listening to the lightning streak around the bridge. The winds picked up and had sent a chill into the room for a moment but it didn't seem to faze Makenzie at all. She'd look to Lissianna and hold out her right hand with a look of slight amusement. There would be a sudden burst of flames from her hand as Makenzie manifested a small pillar of fire over her palm. "Look, this woman here is the one I need to find."

A fiery image of an angel would flicker over Makenzie's palm as she continued, "Nuriel, she's pretty reserved I hear. She acts as the guardian for Anani so she's got a lot of responsibilities. In actuality, these storms are also her doing if you can believe it. It's almost frightening to think of how much power the Guardians harness." Smirking, Makenzie clenched her fist, snuffing out the fire along with the image of Nuriel. The Scarlet Ember would look to Lissianna again, "She protects a number of things. I wouldn't want to get on her bad side, heh."

Although Makenzie was rather serious about Nuriel's abilities her words came out lighthearted, her tone nearly sounding of mockery in essence. The Scarlet Ember sighed and put on a serious face for once as she leaned back against the wall, "I suppose we're all working hard to keep some peace around here though."

"Hah! You're a funny one. Well I would have no problems letting you have your way with this shipment if that's what I got paid to do. Unfortunately for you I'll have to show you out of here. You can understand right? That I'm going to have to get rough...eh, no hard feelings."

Marcus looked towards Phobos, unsure what to expect from this guy. Yes, Phobos looked like a child in ways but Marcus didn't really care. The cargo was clearly in jeopardy as Phobos had just been clawing at the boxes. So without hesitation, Marcus touched his hand to one of the crates. Phobos would see that Marcus' arm would glow and transform right then and there! Suddenly a metallic sheen would cover Marcus' left arm as he flexed it.

"Hmph!"
Rushing forward, Marcus would sweep his left arm in in attempts to push Phobos out of the truck with a rather violent shove. It was a sloppy haymaker since there wasn't much room to work with. However it was clear that Marcus could take on the attributes of whatever he touched! If Phobos didn't dodge or block in some way he was going to sent flying out of the trailer.

Negi-Ukia

[A Deal With A Devil]

Tumbling to avoid the Cross once more, Lucas had looked to Inferno who was remaining rather calm. Of course the Prized Fighter was always known for standing his ground no matter what the situation. "Hah, yeah I'm sure...don't get all sentimental on me now."

He'd remark before hearing Negi speak.
"What?"

Standing to his feet, Lucas would look to Negi in a moment of confusion. The battle with Cynthia was nearly out of his control and Raven was starting to get reckless with herself. Even though Lucas couldn't take Cynthia on at the moment he could still watch out for his Vanguards. But after hearing that Oni was perhaps in trouble, the Imperfect One nodded to Negi, "Do what you need to do, Negi. I've appreciated your help so far. OH! Uh...I'll need you to keep quiet that Inferno has returned. If anyone should tell Oni it should be me..."

Not fully understanding the situation but realizing that Negi had to go, Lucas would watch as the Summoner merged with his spirit. Lucas hoped that Oni was okay...it seemed that Heaven wasn't the only place having some troubles with the Virtues.
"This is getting messy..."
Lucas clenched his fists and looked at the ring he had given Raven earlier. This ring was affecting Cynthia negatively as the latent Corruption energy was very much potent. Although Lucas needed to recover the thought of harnessing the Corruptive energy was becoming more appealing.

This certainly wasn't the time to take that into consideration, Lucas reassured himself. He'd sigh and keep his guard up, watching Cynthia carefully for any more surprise attacks.

Lissianna could feel her patience grinding to a halt as Makenzie incessantly tapped her heel against the house. Concentrating on the thunder reverberating through the stone walls of the house, leaning against them she could feel the tremors through her chest, vibrating her bones. Looking out the window, she had a faint memory of a faceless adult figure chastising her for putting her face to the glass. Shaking off the dusty memory from the cobwebs of her mind, she instead concentrated on the crisp image in the palm of Makenzie's hand, the woman in her palm seemed small, but that only thinly veiled her power. Her dress rippling in the flames, eyes the amber of light. Although she was certain she had seen this woman before only in passing of her visits to Anani, she decided to remain neutral.

"So, this Nuriel?" She rolled the r off her tongue with ease, "Why can you not go to her yourself, if you know where she is? Also," Lissi lifted her stare to Makenzie's, her bright eyes illuminating with the lightning outside as she tilted her head to the side. "What do you think I can do that is so different that I will succeed where others have failed? If at all anyone has even seen this book you claim she has?" Her words were bit off towards the end as her eyes narrowed in agitation.

"Don't mark me wrong, I will do what you ask, as that is my duty. But first I want to know the answers to my questions. And maybe I should have started with the most important one, what do you want with the book? Certainly an accursed book deserves to remain hidden? Sometimes it is better to keep them in the hands of those that can keep them hidden?" Lissianna was speaking from experience as she felt the familiar presence of her book resting beside her, heavy but warm. A constant companion.

Although, now that she knew Nuriel was the cause of the storms that plagued this region, she wondered how she was going to pull this minor stint off, with such a large player involved. Resting her finger on her chin, her brows drawn together as she contemplated how to handle Nuriel, grab the book, and deliver it to Makenzie. As she thought about it though, she looked over Makenzie, taking in ever minor detail. She counted the rivets in her armor, the number of times her chest rose and fell with her breathing. There had to be something she was missing.

[Between the Lines]

"Hm? Oh, I think you misunderstand. Nuriel doesn't like to "lend out" her books often, nor do I know where she is specifically. She takes her "librarian" duties rather seriously...I think she has guarding this realm confused with borrowing someone a book. With you along I'd like to think that Nuriel will feel at ease. Although reserved, she is quite powerful. She doesn't appreciate it when the Council orders her around, heh."

Makenzie stood erect now as she noticed the storm was calming down.
"But of course the book has been seen. The Council gave it to her to be protected. And now we need it back...it's that simple." Of course there was much more to the story than Makenzie was telling but Lissianna wouldn't be so fortunate as to hear it from her today. Makenzie peered out the window with an arched brow on her face. It wasn't clear if she was ignoring Lissianna's projected concern or was ignorant of it but the Scarlet Ember was ready to leave.

"Let's get out of here."
Makenzie made for the door, poking her head out a moment before walking outside. The lightning flashed in the far distance as thunder shook the bridge gently. It didn't seem that another storm would hit them before they could make it to Anani. Although it would appear that Lissianna was walking into a messy situation, out of one storm and into another.

[A Scheduled Visit]

"Hm? Haha how about this?"
Aaron reached his hand out to form a small plate of magic beneath Sabriel. Solidifying into a glassy platform, Aaron would steadily raise Sabriel to his level instead. She could sit on it or continue to stand if she wished. This would now make it easier for the two to speak with each other.

"Lucas...yes, Lucas. Our newly appointed King. I'm afraid he's rather unavailable right now. And I don't think he'll be back for quite some time...did he know you were coming? Perhaps I can assist you? Yaabashael is hardly a kingdom but I still manage things rather well..."
Aaron dismissed his two guards as he felt that Sabriel would be more comfortable speaking of her kingdom's issues without too much company. The Seraph would hold his hands behind his back as he found himself intrigued by this woman from the Fairy Realms. It had been a very long time since he had met with any Fairy. Today was a very special day, Aaron thought to himself, his smile growing a little wider at the thought.

Sabriel Megalith

[ Sir Aaron's Office ]

The movement of the ground below her made Sabriel wobble unsteadily on her feet for a moment before she slid her feet instinctively to shoulder width and threw out her hands to balance herself.
When the glassy platform stopped moving, settling her at a more comfortable height to talk to Aaron, she was quite pleased with herself as she hadn't ended up falling over.
"That is much better. Thank you."

The muscles around her eyes tensed upon hearing that Lucas was currently away and that he was not going to be back for awhile.
She desperately wanted to indulge in her bad habit of lifting her thumbnail to her lips and chewing on it while she thought over her options, but it was a habit that her mother had practically beaten out of her so she clasped her hands in her lap.
She didn't know if she could quite trust Aaron with what she had to say about her kingdom, but at the same time Lucas wasn't around, then how else was she supposed to get answers?
Glancing over her shoulder at the sound of the guards leaving them she didn't know if she should be relieved or apprehensive about things to come.
Ultimately she needed to do what was the best for her people and right now, Aaron looked like her best hope.

A pink tinge crossed the fairy's cheeks when she was asked if Lucas had known she was coming.
Her trip had been rather spur of the moment… But then, if she'd sent him a message from the fairy realms before she'd left, with the way things were going lately, who knew how long it would of taken before it got to him.
"Regrettably no I didn't… Though that being said, I possibly would have beaten it anyway… You see, time between the human and fairy realms isn't what it was and I doubt that time between this realm and the fairy ones is acting as it should either."

Devil-Steel
((Pretty much what I'm going to do is get Negi to Hell really quick just to move this on a bit.))

When Lucas would tell him to keep quiet about Inferno. Negi could only hesitate because he remembers why they sealed Raphael. However, this wasn't the time, and he was right if anyone was going to break the news of Inferno being back it should be him. Negi would nod showing he understood even if he did not like the thought of it, but something more important was at hand. Lightning would shoot out of his body leading to the way out of heaven.

In a flash Negi's body would vanish into lightning, as he passed as one with the lightning. Heaven's skies would light up with bolts of lightning. This was to throw off the fact that the summoner was leaving Heaven. However, if anyone tried to do anything it was pointless because he was moving as one with the lightning. As Negi would pass through into Hell lightning would light up the sky as it did in Heaven, but it would be focused above the arena where Oni was. A single bolt of lightning would strike down in front of the leader of Hell revealing the summoner on one knee with steam coming off of his body. He would unmerge and send his spirit away. Looking up Negi would glance at his brother.

Inferno would over hear Negi mention Oni. A name that still burned in Inferno's mind. He knew he'd come face to face with the current Lord of Hell soon but now wasn't the time. It was good seeing an old comrade like Negi and he could tell Negi's powers have improved. Seeing him using the spirits so masterfully. The Fire Lord looked over at Lucas. "So Oni still sits upon Hell's throne? Not much has changed since I have left. Am I to believe you two are still working together?"

☦Cynthia Navetse☦

†Where there is charity and wisdom, there is neither fear nor ignorance.†

[Location: Underground lair]

☩ Cynthia saw the movement of Avery - it was a flash as the creature sought refuge on her beloved Cross and successfully navigated behind her. She may have known he was there, but there was little she could do to avoid the powerful kick. She had already begun dropping down into a crouch, and so his legs would impact her upper back, where her armor was more sturdy. It sent her forward a few feet, and she narrowly missed her head on the ground as she tucked her chin into her chest and rolled forward on the rocky ground, metal scraping mournfully along its surface. ☩

☩ The Cross surged with energy that sought to burn the one attached to it, each rune that littered the Cross's length shining a magnificent orange, now several shades lighter than Cynthia's eyes. The energy burned hot like embers, and the pattern of the design made your eye begin to see almost a flowing liquid of orange molten steel running along the Cross. ☩

☩ Cynthia rose from the ground laughing, the eerie noise echoing around the massive cavern. She didn't seem to be affected by the kick, and her eyes locked with Raven, who was the closest to her position. Leg muscles rippled as she shot forward to close the gap, her tiny right fist extending out, aiming for Raven's left shoulder. Cynthia watched for the blur of movement, her left hand prepared to follow up. The impact of her fist was enough to easily shatter the rock surface of one of the cave walls about a foot deep, and the Corruption enticing Cynthia to plunge herself into its power would only add to her ridiculous strength. The warriors of Heaven and Hell would need to stop her before she turned into another Rogziel and they had a true fight on their hands. ☩
