Kiro side-stepped out of the way, his swords still sheathed. "I knew this was bullshit from the beginning, but this just irritates me. This was supposed to be a simple mission I could relax and reclaim my thoughts." Kiro asserted. "But you!" Kiro said, pointing at the spider, "Pissed me off!"
Kiro slowly drew both of his katanas. "William, I'll distract it." Kiro spoke to his comrade. Kiro then made a charge the the vicious opponent.

The spider didn't even bother to dodge William's dagger as it buried into it's exo-skeleton. The spider continued forward without even a flinch, bearing down on William. She opened her fangs wide, emitting a hiss of both rage and hunger.
As Kiro rushed forward, hands suddenly siezed at him from behind....many hands. The townspeople, their eyes still glazed and vacant, were clutching at him, trying to force him to the ground.

Crap...
William again darted to the side, Out of the corner of his eye he saw Kiro being grabbed at by the townspeople. Their faces were vacant and their eyes glassy.
Crap...
William quickly switched his katana over to his left hand and reached up over his shoulder with his right. He undid the clasp on his broadsword and drew it over his shoulder. He held both of his blades low and at his sides. He could already tell that this was not an enemy that he could afford to goof around with. He was going to have to hit it with all of his skill from the start. Therefore he stood ready, with the two weapons that he was most comfortable with in hand.

"Teh" Kiro winced in irritation at the 'civilians' attempting to get in his way. I'm guessing I shouldn't kill them. He reminded himself, though raising the hilt end of his right katana to smash the nearest civilian to him in the face, knocking the man to the ground and then dashing forward to join William who was in need of aid.
More of the townspeople began to gather and stop Kiro but was met his a flying knee to the nose and toppling over and then Kiro again jabbed the next one which was a dazed looking woman in the stomach with the hilt of his katana and then displaced her to the ground with a smack with the side edge of his left katana.
Kiro quickly joined William in the assault but stayed wary of the large crowd of violent townspeople behind them. "It doesn't seem like the people are themselves." Kiro spat quickly as he elbowed another civilian in the jaw to the ground as he attempted to make a sprinting assault on him from behind.

The spider seemed to hesitate, her legs thumbing the stony ground in a random staccato. The townspeople picked themselves off the ground and continued to press in around the Hunters. Their empty eyes and blank faces showed no sign of the pain inflicted upon them, though one here limped slightly, and there another held his arm close.
The townspeople suddenly stopped in a semi- circle in front of the Hunters, and from their midst stepped Gregory with a sword in his hand. His eyes were dead black and seemed to glisten in the faint torchlight. He smiled, and showed that his teeth were wrong...too long and spaced. His smile widened until spider-like appendages tipped with fangs appeared from his mouth," Mother is hungry..." he said, his voice had taken on a double quality," She is so hungry..."
Gregory leapt forward with inhuman speed, sword slashing towards Kiro's face almost too fast to follow.

Kiro's eyes became wide with surprise as Gregory charged at him at such a high velocity. Kiro brought his left arm up as fast as he could with his katana to block the straight on attack at his face. Kiro's eyes narrowed. "I guess that means I can kill this one." Kiro commented coldly while he was locked swords with Gregory.
Kiro slid his left foot inward toward Gregory's left in attempt to trip him and throw him off balance while also slashing diagonally upward at Gregory's left shoulder with his right katana.

Gregory hissed into Kiro's face just before being tripped. He fell back with the momentum, and took a slash on his shoulder. Instead of falling onto his back, his arms and legs seemed to twist beneath him to catch him, and he scuttled backwards like a bug before her performed a back hand spring to regain his feet. He held his sword in a guard position across his body, and advanced again, though a bit more cautiously, the blood running down his arm ignored.
The spider advanced upon William while Kiro was occupied. She raised her forelegs and propelled forward even faster than Gregory had. Just as she closed to striking distance, her forelegs made a wet cracking sound, and suddenly they were thin serrated claws. She bore down at William, claws snapping towards his body and head.

William had been attempting to keep an eye on both Kiro and the spider simultaneously. He noticed the spider suddenly dash forward and raised his broadsword to slash down on the creature as it closed. When it's forelimbs suddenly sprouted blades, however, he barely had time to change his strategy. He quickly brought both blades down and to the sides to intercept to incoming attack.
He knew he had said to himself that he couldn't hold back against this monster, but he was still loathe to use his best technique if he thought he could avoid it. He had still never fully tested the limits of the ability, and was unsure what would happen if he pushed it too far. With this spider creature pulling out trick after surprising trick, though, he knew that he no longer had any other choice.

Kiro frowned at Gregory's deformed movements. Kiro stood his ground and waited for Gregory to come within his attack range. He positioned his katanas, ready to swiftly strike with power and speed. Kiro was sure to take off Gregory's head.

Gregory advanced on Kiro's position, step by slow step, shifting from stance to stance. His spider-like jaws working as drool and other liquids oozed forth to run down his dirty uniform. He hissed again and spun towards Kiro, his sword held out as his body became a whirling dervish of steel and death.
The spider screeched as her claws were intercepted and swung them around to try and bypass William's guard, but was again frustrated by failure. Her anger at being denied her meal was growing by the minute, and she swept one claw in a wide arc, attempting to back-hand William off his feet.

William ducked underneath the spider's swing. He brought his katana up and angled the blade to help guide the monster's attack up, over, and away from himself. Once the attack was passed he rose again and readied himself.
William worked his blades quickly, interposing them against the claws of the spider. His left hand, wielding his katana, flashed back and forth counterstriking against the offending assaults of the monster. His right hand, burdened by the weight of his massive broadsword, worked more slowly. He was using the large weapon more like a shield, placing it in the path of the incoming attacks to deflect them.
This is getting me nowhere...
William pushed himself, going for the offensive. The spider creature had greater reach, but if he could close that would be a detriment to it. His weapons swung strong and fast, he could feel his muscles begin to take on the ache of overuse, though he knew they would not fail him.
While in the midst of attacking William suddenly darted back, out of reach of the spider. He quickly sheathed his katana and took his wolf's headed broadsword in a two handed grip. He held the weapon low to his right. He raised the weapon parallel to his hip and resonated the power between himself and the stone set into the blades crescent shaped guard. The power flowed and gathered at his command. He swung the blade across in a sideways slash through empty air, as he did he released the pent up energy within the blade.
The power within the blade erupted along the line of his swing, roaring out with the sound of rent air. The air around William and between him and the spider roiled and hurled forwards, towards the creature. The shockwave tore lines in the earth through it's passage. William's eyes narrowed as he completed the swing and the last of the energy departed his blade.

"I'm sure Gregory might have known this about me, but you're not Gregory anymore." Kiro spoke softly.
Kiro stepped forward close to Gregory's attack then slashing his left armed-katana diagonally upwards to knock the blades protecting Gregory out of the way for his other blade which was now quickly following the first one was swiping upwards at his mid chest to his neck and shoulder area at a demon-like speed.

The Spider Mother crossed her claws before her in an attempt to block the shockwave, but accomplished nothing as she was suddenly thrown back off her feet. She shrieked as she tumbled back into the darkness beyond the scant torchlight. William could hear nothing more of her over the din of Kiro's battle after her shriek cut off suddenly, before out of the blackness came a sudden stream of webbing, wet and glistening toward him.
Gregory twisted during Kiro's deflection of his blade, but would still be unable to dodge the coming blow. There was a wet ripping sound as two more arms rended his skin from beneath, and a spider like claw caught Kiro's stroke. Gregory hissed in pain as the sharp edge pierced his exo-skeleton, greenish fluid dribbling from the wound the run down the blade he held. He looked Kiro in the face, and Kiro could see most of Gregory's face was gone. The skin was hanging from a horrific spider-like maw and black multiple eyes like an old rag. The mandibles widened in a sick parody of a smile as he rasped in a hissing voice,"Oh, but I am Gregory....reborn!" He then yanked hard on the blade, attempting to pull it from Kiro's grasp.

William spun and twisted in an effort to dodge out of the way of the oncoming webbing. He didn't know precisely what it was, and didn't care to find out. He stared into the darkness, where the spider beast had vanished to. He could not see it at all though the pitch. He was uncomfortable leaving an enemy that he was uncertain about whether it was still in fighting condition or not. But he could not leave Kiro to the townspeople while he simply stared into space.
"Fiend!" William called into the black. "If you're wise you'll take this opportunity to escape with your life. If I see your hide again I'll cut you down and take your soul as a trophy."
That said William, reluctantly, turned his back on the spider that he felt was still watching him and sprinted towards Kiro and Gregory. As he did he sheathed his broadsword, nocking the harness into the wolf's head's mouth and securing the clasp around the handle. As he neared his ally he reached his arms across his body and drew out both his katana and nodachi.
