I enjoyed MGS2. >.> Other than Raiden's constant whining, it wasn't bad. Stupid emo characters..

I kinda felt ripped off. The first "Solid" is amazing; great plot, gameplay, atmospheric, great characters and interesting graphics. 2 was just a shiner but poorer version... 1 was a diamond with a few flaws... 2 was a paste gem.

Aerith... why do you have so manuy accounts?

I might be a little quite for a while DoC is fun and pretty, if a little easy on normal mode. I am utterly dire at shoot-em-ups, even third person, but I've only had a little trouble... with the snipers and then with Shelke and then with that ******** Robot in Nibelheim.

It's interesting hearing names pronounced that I've only ever read before. And I'm so happy they've called her Aerith in DoC and not Aeris.

Although having to play as Cait Sith annoyed the hell out of me... fortunately I'm too ill to scream at the TV...

I'm disappointed that they employed a different composer... why not Uematsu Nobuo? It doesn't quite feel right without his signature on the music...

Ah, going through the cast list was fun; so many names I recognise. Jonny Yong Bosch, Jim Ward, Wendy Lee... not to mention of course Blum and Bilingslea... I just wish they'd picked Crispin Freeman for Vincent and not Blum. Don't get me wrong, I love Blum... but Crispin makes me melt. I was really miffed that they cast him as Rude; a character I did not like much, and from what I could remember of the Japanese version he had few lines... turns out my memory was flawed; enough lines and the pair idiots grew on me ((mostly thanks to the voice acting I think...))

Although I can also understand Crispin not even go for it; Alucard... Vincent... Alucard... Vincent... both very similar, though Vincent is a little less spazzy and a lot more broody than Alucard.

Hehe. I dunno. It's just fun to make characters for the roleplay, dressing the avatars up to try and make them look like that character and such.

As for DOC. It wasn't Uematsu? Now wonder the music wasn't so great. At least in my opinion. x.x And the Cait Sith part, yeah that was annoying. I'm not very good at the game though, I apparently am not very good with shooting type of games like this. I thought I would be! But nope. I'm stuck. >.> Really need to get motivated to play and try to beat the stupid boss I can't beat. *L*

And then, for the voice acting. Erm.. I didn't like any of it. ^^; And...Shelke, she talks like a robot and it annoys me to no end. "Vincent...Valentine.." Stop saying that! >.> I wish they would have a mode that it can be subtitled with the original japanese voices...*sighs* I refuse to watch Advent Children in english. I tried. But I spent most the time correcting the words and yelling at the characters instead. Danzel, would not say...that word he said to Bahamut Sin. >.> He's a little kid for goodness sakes. Okay. Er...Anyway. *shuts up about that now*

Hold me now I need to feel relief
Like I never wanted anything
I suppose I'll let this go and find a reason I'll hold on to
I'm so ashamed of defeat
And I'm out of reason to believe in me
I'm out of trying to get by

I'm so afraid of the gift you give me
I don't belong here and I'm not well
I'm so ashamed of the lie I'm living
Right on the wrong side of it all

I can't face myself when I wake up
And look inside a mirror
I'm so ashamed of that thing
I suppose I'll let it go
Til I have something more to say for me
I'm so afraid of defeat
And I'm out of reason to believe in me
I'm out of trying to defy

I'm so afraid of the gift you give me
I don't belong here and I'm not well
I'm so ashamed of the lie I'm living
Right on the wrong side of it all

Hold me now I need to feel complete
Like I matter to the one I need

I'm so afraid of the gift you give me
I don't belong here and I'm not well
I'm so ashamed of the lie I'm living
Right on the wrong side of it all

Now I'm ashamed of this
Now I'm so ashamed of me

So great, so great.Looves...

I agree... it doesn't feel like an FF7 product without his tunes. Can't find the composer in the credits in the booklet, watch the opening sequence, his name comes up there.

I'm doing rather well considering I'm usually atrocious at shoot 'em ups. I got to the bit where he first speaks to Cloud on the phone last night; gonna play again once I'm done on the net... once I strt playing I can't get off...

I figured she was meant to sound that way... she doesn't have her own personality fully anymore, plus she's a bit like a cyborg. She starts getting emotions though.

We thought up a good drinking game for it last night... couldn't really play both at the same time, just for the people watching you play.

Every time someone calls him Vincent Valentine take one drink.
Everytime someone calls him just plain Vincent take two drinks.
Everytime someone calls him something else; Vince, my love etc, finish your drink.

I'd've liked that, just cos I like listening to the Japanese and comparing the subtitles.

Seriously? I thought the VA's were really good. I mean for one thing they can actually pronounce the Western words... As for Denzel... well, he was angry. I've heard 8 year old say much worse to each other!

Correcting the words? Well it's really difficult to translate directly with live action, as you really have to try and fit the movement of the mouth if you don't want it being ridiculed. And AC was so well animated it could almost have been live action, so they had to ply with the translations a little.

I thought the casting was pretty good... except for Barret and Cait Sith. Bilingslea was right for the part but... he got the voice so wrong... Barret ain't Mr T!! And Cait Sith... not a lot you can do to make it less annoying I guess... I think Blum makes a good Turk Vincent... that's a point, I was gonna look up Mike Rock... I'm sure that's an alias...

Nope... IMDB doesn't seem to have much on him... damn, I'm usually so good at this... well, I'm off to spend 7 hours playing DoC... smile

*likes the English version of AC* >.> *thinks they picked good voice actors for everyone except Red XIII and Aerith...as Mena Suvari was unable to speak very well with her voice in the range they wanted*

I just started hateing english anime/games since...99.When I realized how stupid they sounded compared to the japanese voices, which are always serious and just really very good. English, they always make them sound like they're sick,or have something stuck in there throat. x.x I haven't yet seen much good english voices. FFX wasn't to bad, Lulu sounded like a robot. So I couldn't stand her voice. The others weren't all to bad.

Anyway. Since the RP seems to be dieing again. I'm going to take a break from it too. I'll probably just be online to play GW, if not, breaking from the computer.Ether one.

The only style of voice I've found I can't stand in a dub is when they do that retarded southern drawl...it just doesn't work..

Well that's because it's supposed to represent the accent from the Osaka region, which they seem to have interpreted as Southern... which they sort of explain in Yami no Matsui.

What? Not even the likes of Blum, Freeman, Johnny Yong Bosch, Mona Marshal ((okay, so she's just a personal favourite)), Joshua Seth, John Burgmeir (sp?), Laura Bailey, Cam Clarke, David Hayter ((okay so he hasn't done much...))?

Well I completed DoC on Normal mode ((which should be renamed Easy mode)) last night. I was hoping Vincent would take that bloody cloak off. Oh well...

I think next time I play I'll turn the music off and just play the AC soundtrack... although Gackt's tunes were pretty neat.

As for the RP... well I've got an idea and I'll getting it off to a start this week ((though I have 2 friends coming to visit this week, one here and one coming in a couple of days))... hopefully...

I can understand that...but the southern drawl used for anime voiceovers doesn't really flow like the real thing...and it completely grates on the nerves when everyone else speaks normally.

And as for the names of actors that have done voiceovers, I think Christian Bale did good as the voice of Howl.

My opinion of English dubs...
What, Grown woman.. would say.. "Dilly dally, Shilly shally???"
Yeah.. I don't think so Kor. Japanese, I don't even like reading the subtitles anymore, I don't think I'll be watching/reading anymore English in AC.
Japanese verion, no subtitles. Damn legit copies are so inaccurate.

Anyhow... I think I'll go play ome Fire Emblem.. >.>
