Silver Alexander So, Matt, to what is the extent, if at all, you'll allow magic in your Steampunk setting?
The closest thing to magic I'll allow it alchemy (NOT FMA s**t, I mean REAL alchemy) and anything involving the æther. The closest to "magic" anyone will be able to get is the creation of a homunculus (Again, no FMA s**t, a "REAL" homunculus.)

Sounds reasonable enough.
I can probably make it work.

Ok. I'm currently done with the NON-RP elements. Now I just need to write out the currently 4 locations and it'll be ready for business, yo!

Lucind would probably be a dubious singer who's actually a master of making/extracting poisons and drugs.

Ya, I can actually totally see Lu-Lu being a popular singer at the Lounge Bar that myself and Jay are setting up ^.^

Coolness XD
Which reminds me that a couple of years ago I played a character in a German RP who was really obsessed with poisons. He was a weird young man, loved him.
I'd totally give Lu a few of his attitudes to create a mysterious, yet dangerous and slightly mad aura for her, hehe.

No, just a science on the base of alchemy...or simply the knowledge of physicians and scientists of the 18th/19th century.
But if you think of characters like Faust, for example, all this stuff they did or their experiments were widely seen as magic and demonic.
At least that's what I understood.

No, not magic. Theoretical Science. Though things such as the Æther, alchemy and the creation of a homunculus may be considered "magic" to many, they are also very much a science.
*Goes back to work writing up the history*

{EDITED} all rather useless because Matt types faster than I do xd
No magic unless you consider potions as magic... so that means that healing potions and strength potions are quite possible, but because of the Alchemy rule in effect you have to be able to explain what you mixed together to get the effect that you did!
Or at least I think that is right sweatdrop my idea of alchemy has always been based on the rudimentary scientific concoctions.. where people believed that extraordinary things were taking place because they had no real idea of atomic structure, so they had no better way to explain the reactions of certain chemicals than calling them "magic" xp sweatdrop that was also why so many scientists and midwives ended up being burned as heretics and witches, regular people just didn't understand what was happening, so they got scared and killed a lot of innocent people. But most of that was before the Victorian erra, the Victorians liked to think that they were much more advanced and civilised than their predocessors xp
