Kei scooped the puppy up into his arms. "Himi, you shouldn't walk too much on that paw or you might make it worse." he scratched the dog behind her ears before going and sitting down beside Mai-lin. "So...did I say something that upset you? You kinda ran out suddenly."

Mai-lin shook her head. "No. At least not that I would blame you for." she sighed, still not looking up at Kei. "My dad says that...I have one cousin. He's turning 17 later this month. Whoever has a child first that side of the family will have the power of the Inuzuka clan. They'll be the leader. I....I don't want to let my dad or grandda down but...That's why that kinda stuff matters to me. I want to keep my line of Inuzukas in power. And to my clan it's importent to have many children and a mate for life."

Kei blushed as an idea came to him. "How about we make a promise? If something happens to my brother, the two of us will get together to keep both our clans going?" he looked down at the grass, to embarrassed about what he'd said.

Mai-lin blushed at her teammates words. She smiled slightly though and nodded. "Ok. It's a promise!" She said, holding out her hand to him. "Thanks Pei-kun!"

"Now that, that's taken care of, don't worry about it any more, okay?" Kei said and placed a kiss on Mai-lins hand. "If you're worrying about something then you'll have a hard time reaching your best that you can do."

Anekio's upper eyebrow twitched slightly at the statement. "Um...Yuhi, I think they were..." She didn't bother to finish her scentence, seeing as how she found in incredibly wrong to discuss two people's affairs beyond dating.

Mai-lin laughed and nodded. "Ok. I promise" She grinned at him, a slight blush still remaining on her face from Kei kissing her hand. She ruffled the younger's hair and her grin grew. "Really, thanks."

"And all you heard was about Tori-san either choosing to leave or being forced to?" Anekio sighed, looking over and seeing that smile on his face made her smirk, "You're a bit more perverted than you should be by that look on your face." She muttered under her breath, snickering for a moment.

Yuhi only shrugged at her last comment. "He mentioned that her real father wanted her to go back to where she belonged. I knew that she was adopted, but I didn't think she was from Mist...unless he was talking about someone else?"

"She might've been keeping in contact with her real father or something, but I'm not too sure about it." Anekio stared at the ground blankly, "The most I can really think of right now is that we should just make sure not to say anything that'll make her freak out, though she doesn't really play that part."

Yuhi nodded. "Oh, right. When's the last time that you spoke with your Genin? They might have noticed something about that leader guy that could help us. If you'd rather head home to bed, I can go ask them."

Anekio smiled, "I can do it, they are my cell. I just hope they're awake and what not." Hugging her stomache she thought for a moment, "I don't exactly know where they live, somewhere in an apartment complex, the girls anyway."
