::In all honesty...that was entirely too complicated a plan for this little and so far un-named child to understand. But he really didnt give that too much thought. He mimicked Turiens pose and rubbed his naked upper lip, seeing as how he was entirely too young to have a mustache. And just simply said::

Hmm....yesh...

::Trying his best to mimick Turiens voice as well. Even as he turned to face the stunning beauty that was traveling with them, and nodded in affirmation. Granted, he had no idea what he was agreeing too, but, since when did that ever stop anyone from doing something?::

Tomorrow
Purely Jayney
Amber nodded and smiled, sighing inwardly with relief. Although she loved all of John, there were some parts of him she could do without for now. Having to deal with Tomorrow being one of them.

"Won't a rid be difficult to organise if we're going all the way into the mountains?" the anthro questioned.

John rolled his eyes at his finance and sighed, looking down to Juuni. "Details, details, all these details. We'll fly, wont we sweetheart!"

Actually, he hadn't a clue how they could fly. Juuni had her wings...and John could turn Knight of Light, with his plasma wings...but the effort to create and maintain his Knight of Light status took a very hard toll on his elecrtrical powers. He was joking mostly - but he was sure they'd be able to find some kind of steed to ride - perhaps even a car?

Henry blinked and then rubbed the back of his head in embarassment, looking all the world like Sunstrike for a moment.

"Well, you see...we're not going to be riding, anything, upon the trail. A lot of stealth is required so we'll be roughing it, skirting orc territory in order to get to the mountains. The trail is littered with good resting sites as long as we take things cautiously, and I've made sure that supplies and food are already redily available to us...somethings been up with the orcs lately, so any confrontation would be...undesireable."

He straightend up, more serious at this last statement. "It's also probably inevitable. I'm a realist, after all, and things are just too chaotic to assume otherwise. Once we reach the end of out destination at the start of the mountains there'll be a ride to take us where we need to go." He looked at them each in turn. "I did say this would be dangerous, I wasn't kidding. But I don't think there is anyone better that I could bring along for this. Do you still accept?"

John sighed and lowered his sunglasses to rub the bridge of his nose.

Looks like he'll tell us what we're looking for and why we're looking for when we find it...

...But he didnt say anything about this as he looked back down to the man, pushing his sunglasses up to cover his eyes again. "I came back, didn't i? C'mon, lets go - unless you need more time to prepare yourself?"

(( Going on the assumption that Enki was still just wandering in the Docks... since... I have no idea, and I've been way too out of it lately to actually make the post like I said I was going to. stressed ))

Vnn nnn nnn nnn nnn nnn nnn nnn... Vnn vnn VNN nnn nnn nnn nnn nnn nnn nnn...

The rattling sound of the scooter picked up and died down as the engine revved repeatedly; winding in and out through the small alleyways and winding paths of the Latent docks. The rider wouldn't have picked this place as the first one to look, if not for the helpful directions given to him by some of the villagers he had asked on the way into town. Though, as another box came into view behind the one he just passed, and another crate beyond that, and a support beam for an overhead structure went by his right shoulder, the black-clad man had no worries about whether or not he would find what he was looking for.

The handlebars cranked to the left and the scooter took a sharp turn around a corner, and finally came into the clear again from between two warehouses; and that is where it stopped.

The man put one foot down on either side of the scooter, and let the engine idle for must a moment; smiling despite himself at the luck of the draw. About thirty feet away was a tall man with stunning blue hair and a nagitana in hand; the perfect description of a certain Mr. Enki Leviathan.

((You're a ditz, Josh))

*Enki is still standing at the docks, looking out onto the Sea of Gambino. He is just sitting, watching the waves, listening to the serene water and the bustling town. Then something he doesn't often hear in Latent. Vnn vnn vnn vnn vnn VNN vnn vnn vnn. A motocycle... to his left... to his left? A mototcycle on the dock? Enki turns to look at the motorcycle and the one riding it*

The sounds of heels upon marble sounded out, as a robust female made her way down the hall, a pair of cat-rimmed lenses covering eyes that were a swirl of color. She stopped when she came to one door in particular, rapping against it lightly.

"Enter." The muffled voice from the other side spoke, as the female already began twisting the handle of the door, and admitted herself in. With her back to the door, she smiled softly, letting it click shut behind her.

"Well?" He stood in the middle of the room, both hands folded behind his back. The gleam of his mask seemed to catch the artificial light of the room, those yellowed eyes staring out towards the female.

"It seem's he failed." Fumei responded calmly, moving away from the doorway, and towards Victor, her arms draping about his shoulders.

"I wasn't aware that he was supposed to succeed. It was just a test, nothing more." Victor responded, turning his head slightly away, before tugging on the straps of his mask. The mask slid off and was tossed onto the table.

The face... the features, even the skin; it was easy to see how they could be twins.

"I'll make preparations for Laffite to meet us." Fumei said, leaning in to run her tounge along Victor's earlobe, enjoying his taste.

"You can do that later..." He said, a small smile spreading across his face, as he leaned into her... Only the flickering of the candles within the room gave off their shadows, as both bodies pressed into one another...

Curiouser and curiouser said Alice... Meryl thought to herself as she watched the two.

Her slim body was covered by the smooth material of her cat burgler suit, her face painted pitch black and her hair smeared with grease and pulled back into a ponytail, the lucious gold reduced to a dirty yellow/black.

Her green eyes peered at the two through a small grate, the air-vent in the centre of the ceiling just above the chandelier. Even if the two were to look up - which they wouldn't be doing any time soon, it seemed - they wouldn't even be able to see her.

The vent pointed straight down, a sheer drop for almost two full stories - but Meryl's knees were lodged tightly into the metal of the vent, keeping her still and a good inch away from the vent.

She'd been watching this Victor character from the shadows all day - first, as an inconspicious woman dressed in a simple business suit, her blond hair done neatly into a bun, her toned figure fitting nicely into the pin-striped jacket and mini-skirt. She'd walked about with his little entourage of lawyers and hangers-on as if she had belonged - and had gone unnoticed. As long as you looked like you belonged, nobody asked questions. She'd kept quiet and to herself, jotting down meaningless doodles on her clipboard - just another pretty secretary who had gone through way too much to get where she was.

After that, Victor had retired to more a secerative location - requireing the young, quiet secretary girl to dissapear into a broom closet and up a vent.

She watched the two quietly, even her breathing measured. She was here to observe and protect - nothing more.

Amunet merely followed the swashbuckler's lead while keeping an eye on the child and Tarik.

Meanwhile, in another part of Latent, Kana was searching for her, erm what was he now? She and Vahn had been seperated, but they weren't legally divorced, so what exactly did that make them? Either way, seperated or not, she was worried about him and their daughter. She hoped like hell that she would find Vahn somewhere in the city, Enki had told her that most of the survivors had gone here.

"Row row row your boat,
Gently down the stream...
"

Only well... it wasnt exactly a stream the group was moving down. Upon their little 'borrowed' boat, the adventurers sat, watching th little ripple of waves the row-boat made as it glid through the water silently, the swashbuckler sitting with his back to the front as he pulled on the two oars to move them foreward. Somehow, he didnt exactly feel as if the girl trusted him, but with a crooked grin and a charming wink, he assured her that his plan would work.

He twisted his head around to peer over his shoulder, watching the pirate ship grow closer and claser as he went up its side before he stopped paddling to let the boat slow down and glide on its own. He stood up, dangerously making the little 'stealth vessel' rock to the sides with his movements, though he himself hardly even cared at all, reaching out to slow down the row-boat, using the friction of his hand against the pirate ship's hull to do so, at the same time, shifting the direction a little closer.

Now was the important part, to see whether lady luck would smile down upon them or not. He lifted his right forefinger to his lips as he indicated for everyone to be quiet "Shh..."

Now, if anyone would notice, the openings in the side of the ship that housed the cannons were covered simply with a little trapdoor. But, being the brilliant swashbuckler that he is, he had come up with a solution a while ago even before they had commandeered the rowboat, having taken with him one of the gaffs that was lying around in the docks.

And now, with the gaff, he lifted it up to push open the trapdoor, and after a few moments of trying to get it right, he finally managed to get the job done. Now, the only problem left was getting up to the opening which seemed so far away. But of course, he also had a plan for that. Such a smart one this swashbuckler is...

"Here, take this." Turriens whispered to the girl to hold the gaff up in order to keep the trapdoor open, as he needed his arms free to do the next step of the intrusion.

Amunet did as she was told, holding the gaff, which was holding the trap door open. She remained silent, hoping the swashbuckler wasn't about to do something stupid.

'~Pong' the echo of a hammer falling on metal echoed through the alley as Dante stood above his anvil crushing severall small lumps of iron, not normal iron, normal iron (wrought iron mroe specifically) was not what he needed for his task. This iron he was breakign into smaller pieces was called sky steel, or more modern and scientifically meteroite iron. Its unique and near ideal mixture of impurities made it ideal for forgeing superior weapons and armor, tough, maleable at the right tempeture, and valuable... it was mearely the first step however as Dante slowly brushed the crushed iron into a clay crucible and took a arge handful worth of obsidium flakes and dropped it into the crucible before crushing another small rock of meterorite iron and adding it ontop of it, layering it with another large handful of obsidian. Dante hummed to himself as he took a set of long crucible tongs and used his foot to hit the floor button for the furnace placeign the crucible inside next to several other crucibles. Dante set it down and withdrew the tongs closeign the furnace door, and waiting patiently for the time in which the newly formed crucible steel would be ready.

Now, dressing in the odd way that he did payed off for once. As the girl held up the gaff, the swashbuckler's hands quickly went down to his waist, untying the large maroon sash which he had wrapped around the area... although oddly enough, it was wrapped around the outside of the jacket instead of the inside. Anyways, with that done, he let it fall to the 'floor', or rather the surface of the boat as he held onto one end of the sash.

Next, he reached over and quickly unbuckled his scabbard from the belts around his waist, and deftly, he tied the end of the sash securely around the scabbard. Now, it was clear what he was planning to do.

With a well aimed toss, Turriens threw the scabbard, with his rapier still in it up through the portal in the side of the ship, making sure that the hilt of the weapon flew forward first before the scabbard, lest his rapier slide out of the case and drop into the water below. And then he tugged until the scabbard was stuck, its ends preventing it from being pulled perpendicular to the little opening. With that done, he began to climb.

When he made it to the top, as the opening wasnt really that far away, just far away enough so that one wouldnt be able to just jump up it, he stuck his head in first and peered around, making sure the coast was clear. Lucky for them, it was, and then he began to pull himself up the hole. As he got halfway in, his legs could be seen flailing about in the open for a second before he dropped the rest of the way in, feet kicking rather unceremoniously as if he was trying to swim through the air and into the ship. A moment later, however, his head popped back out the whole as he waved the others to follow him up with one hand, "Quickly now." before he used it to hold the trapdoor open, his other hand pressing the large plumed hat on his head down so that it would not be lost to gravity and the water below.

Now here was something one would have to seriously think about. How did such an idiotic man suddenly have the foresight and intelligence to bring a gaff with him, and perform such odd actions to enter a pirate ship unnoticed like this? Maybe he was truly a genius and the idiocy he displayed in public was just a coverup, or maybe he just had the luck of the situation?

"Hey..."

"Ohh... I feel better now."

"I'd hope so, you've been out since yesterday. Hey, what's that?"

Reiko motioned at block shaped thing that Rose was carrying under her arm. It was in paper-ish wrap.

"Oh, I almost forgot. Someone recognized me as the 'motorcycle girl' and gave me this. They said it was for you."

He sat up in bed and cocked his head to the side. Who would be sending him something? In fact, who would know he was still around? Though he was famous, the professional fighting world had lost track of the champion.

Rose tossed the package to Reiko and watched him unwrap it. The first thing that fell out was a letter. He picked it up curiously and started reading it. As he progressed towards the end of it his smile widened. After he was finished he unwrapped the package completely, in it was a magazine with a picture a fighting ring on the front, and then there was a large poster with tournament brackets. The rest of the stuff was a box full of articles on other fighters.

"Haha! It's about time! Hey! We leave tomorrow!"

"Hmm? Hey, don't order me around!"

Meryl sat atop the massive conglomerate building, the wind ruffling her hair and drying the sweat on her face as she sat on the edge of a ledge, dangling her feet limply as he took a quick breather.

Being wedged in a tiny vent for ages really took it out of her. Her legs had cramped up and her knees had begun to really ache - and the two down below didn't look like they were slowing down anytime soon. Eventually the sweat had begun to seep through the thick grease on her face, and a droplet had hit one of the chanderlier lightbulbs, creating a soft hiss and a whisp of smoke as the sweat evaporated...

Even if they had been able to see her, she had been up the vent and around the corner in less then a few seconds, only the sounds of her knees rubbing against the vent alerting anything to her presence.

Now she sat, in the mid-day sun, feeling the breeze cooling her skin and making her hair whip about her face as she undid her bun, flicking her head around to let the dirty blond hair flow free.

A scowl sat on her black face as she lifted her finger to her ear, activating her radio. "Command, come in." She muttered, her voice tired and slightly aggrivated.

This is Command, go hea -

"Subject seems more then fine. I'm going home." Meryl muttered abruptly, cutting in.

...you haven't been releived of your duty yet, Tomorrow.

"He seems more then protected. He's covered almost twenty-four hours a day, he's flanked by officals and lawyers and gods knows what else all the time - he's even got a little floozey by his side to hold his balls for him. I dont even think he goes to the toilet by himself. So take this mission and shove it. I'm tired. I'm bored. And i'm going home."

...This will go on your record, Tomorrow...

"Put it on my damn record, i dont care! Weigh it up against all the good i've done for you - think of it as backpay for busting my a** with little to show for it."

Tomorrow, this man should not be taken far from our sights. We need him covered. We need to make sure he's kept alive.

"Why?"

It was a simple question. All Meryl really wanted was a simple answer. It had been easy before. Drug dealers too powerful for the police to take down by themselves. Sociopaths too smart for detectives to figure out. They all had a purpose, some reason for doing what they did.

But this mission was strange. Simply find this Victor and watch over him for an unknown period of time. What kind of mission was that? And asking her to do it after staying out for - what was it now? three days now? - was simply unfair.

But no answer came from her ear-phone.

"I'm going to check into a hotel. I'm going to sleep. I'm going to eat, then i'm going to go and have some fun. And then maybe - maybe - i'll pick up where i left off. Is that fine with you, Command?"

...Very well. Take a few days off, then come back. We'll expect you're full cooperation then. Understood?

Meryl smirked. The voice on the other end sounded like her father whenever he told her to do something - as threatening and frightening as he made himself to sound, he couldn't physically make her do anything. Much like these guys. They paid her for her services, her stealth, her skill. But she was still, technically, freelance - she didn't have to do everything they told her to do. And no matter the posturing and the threatening tones, she would not back down.

"Thanks Command. I'll make sure to drink a few tequilas for you." She said, before cutting the transmission and standing.

"Now...how do i get down from here?!"

An hour later a slight, pretty businesswoman left the massive skyscraper to walk out into the bustling sidewalk, a small black duffelbag held in her hand as she smoothed back her golden locks from her face. Her face was white, her locks damp, as if she had just dunked her head into a basin and hadn't let it dry just yet. Her suit was smooth, without a single wrinkle - yet it still looked as if it had been rearranged in a hurry, her miniskirt riding a little too far up her legs, showing more thigh then it was supposed to.

Meryl watched as a man ran into a telephone pole trying to look at her toned legs and sheepishly pulled her skirt down a few inches, rearraging her blouse as she did. She should have taken more time to get ready - but she was aching for a good time, something she hadn't had in over a week. All work and no play makes Meryl an angry girl.

"Taxi!" She called, lifting her hand to hail one of the yellow cabs floating down the road. She couldnt be arsed walking to a hotel, and bugger taking the rooftops or WireDaggering across the city - some normality would be nice for a change...

Adele saw the girl wave for a taxi and leaned forward to tap the driver of hers on the shoulder. In hushed tones she asked him to pick up the girl as well, because getting a cab this time of day was more than a little difficult. The driver muttered something in reply and pulled over, leaning over the front passenger seat to open the door for Meryl.

"Where you goin', lass?" he asked, the Irish accent thick. Adele leaned back in the backseat and crossed her ankles, folding her hands in her lap as she stared out of the window at her side - right behind the driver. If the girl did not want to share a lift, that was too bad for her, but Adele was not going to make conversation with a complete stranger. That was just not proper.
