"...Danny?...What the hell-...You know, at this point, I know better than to ask," she giggled, twitching her teddiursa ears slightly. Pointing ot Kaya, she began introductions, "That's Kaya, a Prince, his son Danny, Kaya's boyfriend Brayden is over...." she pointed around a tree to Brayden, "...there, you just met Chloe, and Sasha's the one she was talking to. She owns this place."
"Everyone! This is Aislinn! She just started her journey!" Turning back to her new friend, she smiled. "Don't worry about the save-the-world this right now. I started going around with them to stop this when I was even more inexperienced than you are. I had a Bulbasaur, Butterfree, and Zubat. That's it. Speaking of which..."
She then began to point out and name each of the pokemon in the garden.

Aislinn nodded as Nona introduced her friends one by one. She was relieved slightly by Nona's words of encouragement, but still seemed skeptical. She had yet to earn her first badge! What good could she do for these people. "Exactly what is the issue you're all fighting for?" She asked, her curiosity spiked.
Flash was getting tired of all these games and ran back over to Aislinn, nudging her to pick him up. Aislinn complied, still focusing on Nona and the others.

"Haha, guess I can fill in," Brayden nodded, making his way over to the rest of the group, "And yup, I'm Brayden, nice to meet you," he smiled.
"Well, I suppose to start off, you'd probably need to know this poem," he explained, trying to recall the wording of the legend from Sinnoh.
"A young man, callow and foolish in
innocence, came to own a sword.
With it, he smote Pokémon, which gave
sustenance, with carefree abandon.
Those not taken as food, he
discarded, with no afterthought.
The following year, no Pokémon
appeared. Larders grew bare.
The young man, seeking the missing
Pokémon, journeyed afar.
Long did he search. And far and wide,
too, until one he did find.
Asked he, "Why do you hide?"
To which the Pokémon replied...
"If you bear your sword to bring
harm upon us, with claws and
fangs, we will exact a toll.
"From your kind we will take our
toll, for it must be done.
"Done it must be to guard ourselves
and for it, I apologize."
To the skies, the young man shouted
his dismay.
"In having found the sword, I have
lost so much.
"Gorged with power, I grew blind
to Pokémon being alive.
"I will never fall savage again.
This sword I denounce and forsake.
"I plead for forgiveness,
for I was but a fool."
So saying, the young man hurled the
sword to the ground, snapping it.
Seeing this, the Pokémon disappeared
to a place beyond seeing... "
"A couple of us had already heard the poem before, but we merely passed it on as a myth, a simple story. We were sort of wrong on that note," he shrugged with a wince.
"Turns out that the sword in the poem is real. All too real. However, it had been broken into several pieces, and scattered across the regions, in order to prevent it from being reformed."
Taking a deep breath, he fell into the story, "Well, it began a while ago when we discovered legendaries were vanishing. It turns out that there was someone who was manipulating each of the teams, Rocket, Neo Rocket, Aqua, Magma, and Galactic, each to find a piece of the blade and the legendary Pokemon associated with it."
"The orb in the center of the hilt was associated with Mew. The handle of the blade was associated with Lugia. Two halves of the blade were associated each with Kyogre and Groudon. And in Sinnoh, the guard of the sword was protected by Heatran."
"We found out later that it was Lance who was in charge of this plot. He managed to capture each of the legendary Pokemon, as well as all the pieces. Thanks to the Teams, as well as Notaro, a mastermind who's shown up around here once in a while. Each time, things turn out bad," Brayden conveniently left out the circumstances under wich Lance obtained the last piece, still holding himself somewhat accountable for that "little" slip up.
"Once he had all the pieces, it was an easy matter to reforge the blade at Stark Mountain. We... uh... we tried to stop him, but we weren't really any match for him, and Lance escaped with the completed blade."
"Thankfully its been somewhat quiet since, but we're worried that Lance will eventually carry out his plans for the sword," Brayden concluded with a sheepish grin.
"Not your average adventure, but we appreciate all the help we can get if we haven't scared you off yet," he dared to joke.

Aislinn listened intently. She had too heard the story about the blade when she was a girl, but never really looked into it. "Hm..." Was her reply to it all, as she was still thinking. "I'm in." She added finally, with a definate nod. "It's more than just a noble cause, that I'd be honored to take part in. Plus it ill give my Pokemon and I some new experience and hopefully we'll get strong enough to assist you." She took a deep breath and looked to her Pokemon. "What do you all think?" She asked, but only Holly, Katsumi and Flash responded with excited nods. Nakou was still off chasing Bio. Aislinn smiled and looked back to the others. "Sounds like a majority vote." She joked and smiled, feeling her stomach flutter. She had just started off on her own, and yet she had already found herself knee deep in adventure.

Nona nodded. "Yup, that's pretty much it. I started off with one less pokemon than you did, even. No badges, only my starter, a bug, and a poison-flying."
She was uber-giddy when she heard, "I'm in" from Aislinn. "Awesome! One more person to help us out. When I said, 'We're saving the world,' I wasn't exaggerating."
Suddenly, a large rumble came from Nona's stomach. "...Heh...sorry....What's for breakfast?" She was in the mood for honey, as normal with her Teddiursa DNA, but she was still hungry.

"Good to have you with us, then," Brayden smiled with a nod to Aislinn. "And don't worry, I started out much as you did a while back when I joined in with the trouble Team Rocket caused with Dialga. I had two Pokemon, no badges, and couldn't even make my way through Ilex Forest without falling into trees," he laughed.
"I'm sure you'll do fine," he assured her with a wink.
"Wow, I suppose I've been up pretty much all night as well," Brayden nodded, looking to the brightening sky with a faint smile, "Other than a quick nap in the mansion, that's all he sleep that's found me." The thought of food was more than enough to pique his interest.
"I'm up for anything to eat for breakfast. I'm no chef, but I think I can help you if you're making pancakes. I might be able to manage not screwing that up," he laughed lightly, before a blur of hyperactive movement caught his attention.
"Uh, Danny? I don't think Sasha would enjoy you cutting her garden to mulch..." Brayden winced as he saw bark fly upon impact as Danny set his newfound scythe to use.

Glad to see that at least some of the shrubs would survive Danny's onslaught, Chloe smiled faintly. Alkaid flit over to try to help in the garden-guarding, as she landed on some of the smaller shrubs next to Sasha's Sceptile, chirruping eagerly, ready to help.
"Yup, Sasha's the one that's letting us stay in this huge house," Chloe laughed. "I don't think I'd ever see a house this big in person unless I was on a sightseeing tour or something," she grinned. She was a bit curious as to why Sasha had vanished again, but knew too little about the rooms in the mansion to dare give chase. Knowing her horrible sense of direction, Chloe was likely to find herself locked in a closet.
"So we're up for breakfast now?" Chloe inquired, overhearing the mention of pancakes.

As long as I can give my Pokemon a rest, I'll be fine." She smiled, looking down at flash, who crinkled his nose as his stomach growled. She laughed a little and looked back to the others. "I'm feeling a bit peckish as well, and I'm sure Flash would agree." The little Pokemon nodded annoyed as he poked his stomach, trying to quiet it.

"You're not feeling sick are you? I know people can sometimes lose their appetite if they're sick," Chloe elaborated after a moment.
At Sasha's question, Chloe shrugged, "Not sure, I'm up for pretty much anything edible at this point," she laughed. "I'm getting a tad hungry, so whatever we can scrape together in the kitchen, I'm willing to give it a shot," she grinned.
