Jack leaned heavily on the washing machine he was repairing in the basement. His first day back from that case of food poisoning and he still wasn't feeling himself. The rhythmic thump of someone's sneakers in the other washing machine, coupled with the swirling water sloshing, wasn't helping, either.

Jack made his way up the elevator to Jun's apartment, knocking on the door and hitching up his pants. He must have lost a couple of pounds due to that bad blowfish encounter. He'd either have to start eating more or get new pants.

Jun heard the knocking and blinked, "who could that be?"
He looked around for a shirt, but couldn't find one.
Well now Rease couldn't get on him about always answering the door either in a towel or shirtles without thinking.
So instead he put on Rease's apron, which didn't help much since Rease's body was much more slender than Jun's.
But he answered it anyway, "Hello?"
His eyes blinked and he smiled, "Jack! You've recovered. Come in, come in."
Jun motioned to Kaoru, "Jack, this his Kaoru, he lives a few doors away." Then motioned to Jack, "Kaoru, this his Jack, our favorite maintenance guy."

Jack stepped in, nodding to Kaoru with his friendly smile. He was starting to get used to Jun's habits of being close to naked, but it wasn't getting any easier to ignore the gorgeous professor. "Nice t'meetcha. I take it there's nothing wrong with the stove. Did I.. come at a bad time?"

Kaoru was quietly eating now, hoping the silence wouldn't last much longer it was slightly uncomfortable. He hoped he didn't make it so. Suddenly there was a knock on the door and Kaoru jumped at the sound which disturbed the silence, in fact it made him drop his chopsticks onto his plate with a loud PING!
Kaoru wiped his mouth with a napkin, calming himself, and watched Jun stand up and put on a apron for some reason before answering the door. His cobalt blue eyes darted to Reace momentarily then back to the kitchen entrance. He blinked as the new comer was ushered in by Jun and offered another warm smile. He bowed his head of shaggy silver hair, "Pleasure, Jack-san" Sure a lot of foriegners in this building, he thought briefly. Its kind of nice, intriguing even.

Jun gave a lopsided smile, "I tried to cover up." Jun explained the apron.
"No, you didn't come at a bad time, we were just having dinner." He winked, "We could make another plate for you, Rease and I would be delighted to have you."
He then discarded the apron, folding and placing it on the counter.
"So how about it, Mr. Hart?" Jun smiled crossing his arms over his chest.

Jack's stomach growled in answer, making it known that the surfer handyman hadn't eaten yet. He sheepishly grinned. "Well it does smell good. It's not blowfish, is it?" He closed the door and leaned against it, his eyes unabashedly glued on Jun's hips. "I feel overdressed."

Kaoru peered down at his own beige pajama bottoms and blue t-shirt, slippers on his feet. He then observed Jack's attire after pushing his glasses further up his nose. "I do not think so, Mr. Hart," he said this in english and smiled again. Blowfish? He had said that...who would trust such things? "Did you eat blowfish? You are lucky to be alive, if its improperly prepared it is possible for you to die." He tilted his head to the side. That was probably an unpleasant thing to say and suddenly found himself blushing and peering down at his half-empty plate.

Jun threw his head backwards a laughed, "Actually my dear man, I should free rather underdressed.
He didn't seem to notice where Jack's eyes had fallen.
"No it's not blowish... Though Kaoru is right, I wouldn't even touch the stuff." He ushered Jack to the table setting up a place for him, "It's seafood, yes, but some shrimp stir fry and some sushi, and Rease made Pico for dessert."

Jack allowed himself to be guided, half falling into the chair. "Yeah, the doctor at the emergency room pretty much told me I was crazy and he didn't want to ever hear about crazy Americans eating things on dares ever again. At least I didn't have to pay for it. And it's just Jack. I'm.. nobody in particular." He blushed slightly, never sure how to respond to traditional formality. He wasn't completely sure if they did it to try to show respect to others or to put a proper distance between the classes, but his California-bred urges to put everyone on the same casual footing usually seemed to cause offense.

Kaoru, being a doctor, knew quite well the horror of blowfish. He still didn't understand why it was such a delicacy. But the Japanese have been eating for a long while. The silver haired male blinked and shook his head, "Don't say that, I believe that everyone is someone. You are Jack Hart, yes? Then you are someone." That probably sounded silly, but oh well. Kaoru always thought the best of people and the whole formality thing was just something he grew up with. Being polite was second-nature. He picked up his chopsticks again...
