I have a Bach Strad...he serves me well....most of the time. I'm actually in the middle of changing embouchures due to lessons. My chops give out so fast nowadays.

I have my stupid chair audition on the 9th. They were put off for the Christmas music. If it wasn't for that stupid 8th grader, I would have 1st. He does only live a mile away, hehe, but I could never harm another trumpet...(I am so imature)

My friend has a Bach Strad. Plays and looks like a dream. He loves it so much, he doesn't even use it. Only for the college orchestra he got into at 8th grade. I only got in 9th grade...buuut.
I'm a flautist okay. Eat, sleep, breathe professionalism in flute. Private lessons from a professional, flutey tootey toot. And the piccolo. All that joy. That's my main thing right?
So this year, I took up trumpet for jazz band the first year ever. I play quite okay for a first year, but I can't hit anything above the G, the one right above the staff. It's hard for me... sad I just suck at it period. Can anyone give me any good pointers? It would be so appreciated. Thanks... confused I think I should change my username to Mediocre_Trumpeteer956 soon... stare

Many kudos to you; I couldn't do that until my fourth year. But if you want to play the high notes, do lots of long, low tones; below middle C and for a LOOONG time. It'll help. Oh, and don't forget posture. Hitting high notes is impossible if you have no air. wink
