It was as Alyxandeyr was being tossed about like a spiderweb stuck to a teenage girl's hand that he realized that Rota was having a mental breakdown. Inbetween being flung this way and that, Alyx found breath to ask Rota a question: "Uh... Are you alright? I don't have a brother. Unless you're threatening to eat me. In which case, I think that there may be a better time." Alyx punctuated the last two words with another double strike, since the cooldown had run off and he was able to continue turning the boar into a shining cheese wheel. They were making astounding progress ever since Alyx had decided to hitch his rather ill-advised ride on the boar's tusk, but, if he had anything to be thankful for, it was that he was merely holding on to the tusk, rather than being held onto the tusk. He'd leave getting gored and opened from taint to tit to the DPS of the group, if he might.

It treid to dominate my mind, and I wouldn't let it. So I punched it in the face and told it that if it didn't wise up I'd feed it to its brother, Neo Abyssian. Really, I'm fine."

Alyx was being thrashed this way and that and wasn't in too much of a position to remark on Rota's spelling mistakes, but he was fairly certain that the sentence that had come out of Rota's mouth was complete gibberish. He plunged Gloomfang into the boar's flesh while trying to formulate a response. Some sort of logic error was accumulating in his speech center, and he was stuck in a self-perpetuating loop of deciphering what had been said, processing it, realizing that it didn't make sense, and then going back to the beginning to try and figure out what the hell he could have actually been saying. Finally, he just aborted the mission. "Well, just be sure to eat your vegetables."

"Okay, we'll take this one step at a time. What is the first thing about what I just DEVOUR that you can't understand?" Alyx, still riding the glorious tusk of the golden boar, plunged his legendary blade repeatedly into its neck and shoulder, filling it with Gloomweave spider venom. It was rolling in Damage Over Time at this point, and pretty much completely ignoring it. Alyx had to hope that, over time, he was dealing damage. Which was kind of the point, now that he thought about it. Rota was choosing this point to attempt to have a conversation, and Alyx, being thrashed about like this game used Havok as a framework, was not able to hear or comprehend what the half-demon was saying. "I think you are suffering a small cognitive dysfunction. Recommended course of treatment is a regular supplement of ginkgo biloba."

Croire sighed as her master went to work on the beast. Him 'Jittering' about like he did occasionally really unsettled her. She didn't know how to handle something like that. He wasn't in pain, but it wasn't natural either. In any case she went over to Alyx, currently being used as a boar chew toy. "Master wishes to know what you're so confused about with his previous statements. We can work through it one step at a time to make it easier."

Alyx finally managed to stack a full complement of poison on the boar, and its health was deteriorating at a velocity which could most easily be referred to as 'terminal.' He had held on long enough to burn through almost all of his AP, and almost all of his aggro, so he decided to break away with a bit of 'oomph,' just to get the boar's attention back. He sheathed Gloomfang and grabbed hold of the boar's tusk with his sword hand. "I believe it may just be the random interjection of verbs that might be throwing me off. At any rate, I believe that it might be beneficial to all parties to focus on the massive, raging hellbeast against which we are currently struggling." The Jittering Demon felt his blade sink into his foe as his remaining stamina petered out. it was time to build up the stores again, it seemed. As he lifted the gigantic sword again, Croire brought her master the news. "Fine. We've got this thing just where we want it anyways!" Despite the allure of treasure, Rota could feel his mind beginning to get sapped from this battle. This was a war of attrition grander than they had ever done against a single creature. Alyx nodded determinedly, and bashed the creature in its snout like an angry Captain America, bouncing away from the animal to a safe distance. He was breathing heavily, and riddled with injuries. He was halfway into the grave, and completely drained of energy, but his tattered mantle hung from determined shoulders, and his grip was steel on his blade. He was going to finish this fight, even if it killed him. And it very well might. That wasn't the important thing, though. The important thing was accomplishing their goals. Of conquering the unconquerable. Rota could feel his strength slowly returning to him, but it wasn't enough. he needed more if this boar was going to die with any degree of speed. Now more than ever did he wish that he still had enough flame in his body to continue instead of wasting it early. He had to work on that. in the meantime, Alyx had the Borar distracted again, so Rota let loose with all he had as usual. The more he wailed on this creature the faster this fight would go. Fabulous prizes lay just around the corner for them to claim, he just knew it. The whisperings from his blade had still not ceased, but only time would tell if he needed to punch it in the face again.

Alyx took the hit from the boar on his shield, and stood stock still as the force traveled through him and into the earth. He was either getting better at this, or the boar was getting tired. And, at less than a third of its health, he was hoping it was the latter. They were so close that all they had to do was buckle down and hassle this thing for a little while longer, and there would be nothing but glory left in its place. They would become immortal for, if nothing else, having slain the largest, craziest creature in existence. And they will have earned the respect that came with that. Alyx was driven by the conviction that they were the strongest. The best. They were unstoppable. This pig was no match for them, and slaughtering it would be but a small, insignificant step on their meteoric rise to glory! He rallied himself, bracing his shield and batting it with his blade. "Come at me, swine! Face the might of the Gloomking, and tremble in terror!"

Rota was flaying this boar wide open now. Now that it had gotten this weak, beams of harmless, borealic light had been erupting from its body in shafts. There was no telling how weak this thing was, but visual confirmation of damage was helpful. Its prismatic frame cracking ever so slightly along its wounded areas, and the demon's sword called out practically begging for that light. Rota couldn't help but smile as he continued to flourish his blade into the rapidly swine deity. He could not even fathom the gravity of this kill, let alone the rewards for doing so. He doubted that not only had anyone ever done this before, but that anyone would be able to do this ever again.

Alyx' shield caught the boar and he felt the power of the witch's brew bleed out of him. He was mortal again. Well... Almost. As mortal as he could be. His power was somewhat diminished, but he was no less likely to slaughter this animal. They were too close to question the likelihood of their victory, that's for sure. The boar was going to die. The boar was going to be dead, and at least one of them would be standing on its corpse when this was over. His eyes were drawn to his healthbar, and he realized that there was a very real possibility that he would die here. Not an immense likelihood, but definitely a chance. And he was ecstatic. He was thrilled beyond words, because that is what this game is about. It's about struggling and overcoming impossible odds with the ones you care about. Forging legends and bonds that surpass and transcend time and space. He would die with a smile on his face, because of all that he had accomplished. All that he had experienced. Life for him might end, but he had made some difference, somewhere. He had to have. He would only regret not changing more. Not influencing more. If he survived this, he would make that his new mission. Not personal gain, but the betterment of ALICE-kind. The furthering of the world. Now that Rota had his energy back, he decided to make a final push against this creature as his blade began to glow red once more. This had to end sometime, he knew it did. There was no way that it had any significant leg to stand on (proportionately) anymore. Alyx struck the boar and pierced it deep. As Rota prepared to attack it, the beast turtled up and allowed both of the swordsmen to whale on it. Its health dipped even more dangerously toward its inevitable conclusion, and they were emboldened by its helplessness. It was as if the creature understood that its life was over, and was just laying down and giving up so as not to prolong its suffering. Which was, honestly, quite fine by Alyx' reckoning. He was actually perfectly okay with it, and he would continue to exploit the weakness as long as it was being offered. He would also take the time to pimp his thrust arte, because he wanted to get it to an even more ridiculous level. It was a powerful ability, even if he had been slacking on training it. It was precise, and it was damaging. He had been able to skate by on his less accurate abilities because he was fighting weaklings, but that could very well change soon. If his plans came to fruition, the way he experienced the world would be entirely different. He looked forward to that moment, honestly, when the game became a threat once more. When Alyx was no longer an immortal creature, but a warrior on the field of battle, capable of losing his life like any other. He would cherish the visceral rush of combat once more, and face the world with renewed vigor. It would be incredible.
