Layna raised herself up onto an elbow to stare out into the living room. "Sibyl?" She questioned, wondering. Her eyes were wide, wondering what had become of the Lycan. She was one of the only others in this apartment who actually knew of Ceon more closely. "I...couldn't stop it from...happening...." Her voice cracked in anguish. She wondered if the woman could hear her. What could she say? She had stood by, unable to help her mate, and now... he was dead.

Jaden bared his fangs and closed his eyes in frustration, a deep, primal growl bubbling up from his chest. There were so many people here, so many and so many things. Death of loved ones and transformations, Oh wasn't this a pleasant set of memories.
Black sword sinking through her chest. Utter despair... helplessness. Sorrow and fear. Rage.
"Sibyl why are you bringing new pups to my house?!" he snapped, trying to sort out the storm of thoughts spinning through his head in such a painful manner. Things were getting worse for him and there was little that could be done, few things would be an escape for him.

Sibyl gave Layna a silent nod to let her know that she wasn't alone and that Sibyl would take good care of Gabriel while his mother slept. Perhaps she wasn't the most nurturing and she'd never been a mother herself but Sibyl had the basics down of how to take care of a kid and keep them out of trouble. It wasn't all that hard but at the same time it could prove to be one of the most difficult and time-consuming tasks one would ever face. It all depended on the child and whether or not they decided to give their overseer a difficult or easy time looking after them.

As for Layna, Sibyl knew that the now widowed lycan was weary and in need of her sleep. Sleep was probably the closest to release that Layna would get for a while since the impact of losing a mate was maddening to the point that some mates just killed themselves from the horror of the loss. It'd be hard for Layna to do that, however, since she had a child that she had to look after and if she left him then he would be without his mother and father. Of course, Sibyl would look after him and watch over him but she hoped that Layna wouldn't do that to her child.

After her moment of silent thoughts to herself, Gabriel brougth Sibyl back to by touching both of her large hands with his tiny ones. Sibyl turned to Gabriel and smiled softly at the bitter sweet resemblence that Gabriel had to his father. "Yes, play. Maybe we can take you out to a park where you can go in the swing and Jaden can come along so that he's no so stressed out about everything."

Sibyl then lead Gabriel out of his mother's temporary room and into the living room where James and Jaden were. Sibyl looked to Jaden and her instinct told her that something was majorly bothering him and that he was experiencing conflicting emotions just as she had. However, his had been experienced before and they were much more intense than Sibyl's emotions were. They were much more raw than Sibyl's emotions as well, even though time had passed since Jaden had experienced all of this. However, Sibyl hadn't exactly lost her mate since Ceon had only been a fairly close friend. Nonetheless, it still hurt to lose him and she couldn't help but continue to think about it as if there was nothing else to do or think of, it plagued her.

She decided that she would occupy Gabriel by giving him a toy car that she'd had for a long time. It was the only one and it was an orange one. "Here Gabriel," she said as she handed the car to him, "you can play with this. Roll it on the floor and it'll run away from you and you can chase it. Careful not to knock anything over." She left him with the car only a few feet away from where Jaden and James were so that she could keep a proper eye on the young pup. That was when she rejoined Jaden and James in the living room of his apartment and she took a seat beside Jaden.

Sibyl looked into Jaden's tortured red eyes, having never dared to actually face him face to face before out of her instinct's insistance on not disrespecting her pack leader. However, right now she could almost feel his raw emotion and she was feeling empathy for him since she knew Jaden's life hadn't been easy. He refused to talk about it to anyone so it had to be bad. Sibyl felt helpless as she sat there, just watching him suffer in the midst of company and yet he was completely iscolated. She decided to simply lay her hand on his and gently squeeze it, aware that he was lost in thought so he might very well lash out at her. "You're not alone, Jaden." Sibyl reminded him, "And I'm sorry for all the commotion. I didn't know where else to bring him. Is there anything I can do to help?" Sibyl was clueless when it came to people that were upset, all she knew was that they were upset.

Sibyl watched Gabriel though she was waiting for Jaden's response to what she had said and possibly a negative response to her impulsive decision to squeeze his hand. After all, he probably wasn't expecting it and when she wasn't expecting something she often became frightened and ended up snapping if she didn't know who it was that'd touched her or if she'd been in deep thought and her instinct took over. However, she was more watching Gabriel than anything since she didn't want him to be harmed by James on accident, however, the boy seemed to be passed out for the moment and Gabriel was a fair ways away. However, if James attacked Gabriel then she'd indefinitely make it there first and there'd be hell for James whether or not he was able to control himself.

She was quite intent on keeping Ceon's pup safe since she had failed her friend already by not being there for him. For Gabriel it would be different and she'd assure that when he became of age that he would definitely receive training from her personally and possibly Jaden if she could convince him to help out. After all, Jaden had been alive much longer than she had been and he had much more experience than her. However, she made up for her lack of experience in skill as well as control over herself, caution, instinct and reflexes. It was a deadly combination of abilities that she'd received from strict and daily training for ten years of her life.

The beta female smiled at her God son as he chased the small car that'd once been hers when she'd been a little older than him. She'd never been as rambunctious as he seemed to be, however, she had always had a tendency to wander off and scare her parents to death since they were worried she'd been killed by a vampire. It'd almost happened a few times, she'd wandered off as a pup and a stray vampire happened to come across her and he'd instantly seized the opportunity to use her to get fast his lycan foes, in other words her parents' pack. Of course, she'd lived to tell the tale but she'd always been wary of vampires that'd been like or resembled the vampire that'd captured her.

Steffon rushed over to Gabriel and licked the little boy's face. 'It's okay.' He told the little boy's mind and the little boy himself. 'It'll go away. Pain is only brief and it tells you that you are alive and breathing. That's a good thing just so you know.'

Sibyl watched as Gabriel crashed into the wall, she knew that it was going to happen a few seconds before it had so she would have been able to prevent it had she wanted to. However, Sibyl wasn't being cruel and simply sitting back and letting Gabriel crash into the wall for her own twisted sense of pleasure. She was letting him learn that all actions had consequences and that he had to keep on his feet, especially in the case where he'd just crashed into the wall. Of course, lycan children were much tougher than human children so she wouldn't have allowed a human child to do such a thing. Besides, Gabriel would probably forget the incident in a few moments and continue on with playing so the lesson would have to be learnt over again until he remembered it. Even at a young age, Sibyl's pack taught their pups basic lessons such as pain, thinking, consequences and other things and Sibyl was upholding her pack's traditions while spending time with Gabriel.

She decided to comment on the fact that he'd just crashed into the wall, though it was a short-lived comment and the pup was soon off again to play with the car she'd given him for the time being. She'd give it as a gift to him later after he'd behaved himself while his mother slept. "Be careful," she chided Gabriel with a smirk, "you get hurt if you go too fast." She decided that she'd leave her explanation at that since he was still young and wouldn't comprehend most of her words though his lycan side might understand the jist of the warning that came from her words. However, he was young and she didn't expect he'd fully understand what she'd said to him.

Gabriel let out an elated squeal as he pounced upon the toy in a bound. Giggling, he let himself fall head over heels with the toy clutched in his hand. He was a rambunctious child who couldn't sit still for more than a moment without being moody and stubborn. If he had been in a Lycan skin, his tail would have been wagging so hard his body would shake.

Gabriel clapped his hands, giggling at the wolf's antics. He had really never seen a dog, let alone a wolf. "Woof woof!" He squealed, smiling brightly at the upside-down wolf. Evidently, he enjoyed seeing Steffon upside-down. He turned his head to the side, until Steffon looked right side up. Ah, that was better.
