Kuro was slightly angered by his failure again. His fingers were once again in a giant mess of failure. He took his hands from each other, and studied them intently, hoping to find out what it was he was doing wrong. He frowned and waved his hands after examining his fingers for a bit, feeling a few of them jolt with pain on impact with each other, he hoped to dissipate that pain. After a second, the girl he beckoned to approached. Kuro gave a courteous bow to the girl, and asked in a polite tone, "Excuse me, whats your name? You seem...familiar somehow. Have we met?" He tried the Tatsu seal again, but with much less concentration, as he was focusing on the girl who had approached him after he had called for her. Tatsu!, he thought, going for another try. Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. So I set them to learning all twelve. The rules are as follows: Roll 1d20 for each seal, one at a time. They must get a 12 or higher in order to correctly perform a seal. Each seal must be performed once correctly before being learned. Use the formula: [1d20 + Int Mod. = (#)]. DC: 11 Total Seals Learned: 3/12 **No Hp or Cp cost. Rewards: +1 Intelligence
Mods: +1 from Tairu's teaching (-1 to DC)

Tairu was in his old little world and heard Kuro yelling off in the distance. Then he saw a shadow fall over his face. The shadow was accompanied by foot steps and Tairu then acknowledge that some one new had joined them. As he snapped his attention back to the present Tairu noticed two things, the first was that Kuro had gotten the Tatsu hand seal correct and the second was that a girl he was unfamiliar with had approached them. "Good Job Kuro." Tairu said in reference to his hand seal. He then looked at the girl. I wonder who she is? Tairu thought.
"Hi I don't believe we have met before. My name is Huuga Tairu, what is yours?" he asked the girl.

LV. 1 | Experience: 0/100 | Hp: 8/8 | Cp: 1/1 | MHp: 10/10 If he greeted her politely and asked for her name she would... What would she do...? The thought never occurred to her. Kaede fidgeted, clearly in an unfamiliar situation.
And as she pondered the right course of action, she heard a voice from below asking the same question. It was the boy who had performed that dragon seal effortlessly, and he was lying down again look up at her. And staring back into his pupiless eyes, she realized, 'He is a Hyuuga. And not just any Hyuuga but the Hyuuga clan, that noble clan.' And from the looks up it, they were familiar with each other. 'So it seemed they were friends studying together...'
Oh right, the question. She opened her mouth, but all that came out was a pitiful squeak. Her face flushed from embarrassment. Suddenly the grass didn't seem so bad to look at. Her bangs fell down and acted as a curtain, shielding her face and her eyes. Kaede wasn't used to talking, not to anyone but her dad and even then they rarely had time to speak. What, with his work and her schooling conflicting with each other.
And now she had to talk to two others, and not only that but both were looking at her. It all seemed so unreal, and now she realizes how stupid she must seem, being silent for what feels like an hour to her. They might think she's mentally retarded, or mute, or... Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. She bit her lip.
"Shirayuki... Shirayuki Kaede," she mumbled, voice faltering along with her courage.
And now they know who she is. She was THAT Shirayuki, the one related to the Garbage Man. The one wearing a dirty kimono. The one that is having trouble with the serpent seal. Once the information settles, the politeness will probably become disgust or amusement or mockery. It always does, and she can't bring herself to make eye contact with them, as though they had some sort of kekkai genkai that will burn her if she looks at them. The nervous girl shifted her weight to the balls of her feet, ready to flee. Her hands trembled nervously.

"Well, Ms Kaede, its nice to meet you, even though it seems that I know you from somewhere.", Kuro said, regretfully grabbing her hand and shaking it gently, as she was a female. "Next time, don't be so quiet eh? It was kind of hard to hear ya!", he said happily, giving her a small smile. Then, as if he for some reason forgot, remembered. A Female. He felt his palm beginning to sweat a bit, from the touch of her smooth skin, and withdrew his hand swiftly, but not forcefully. Then another thing hit him. That Nice Garbage Man! Shes his daughter! I can see the resemblance..., he thought to himself, making a mental note of her lineage, but not a verbal one.
"I am Masato Kurokawa, or Kuro if it pleases you. It does most people." he said, looking over at his friend, still lazing on the ground, after introducing himself. I never thought of Hyuugas as so laid back, especially after meeting his queen or whomever that woman was, he thought to himself, focusing his attention back onto the girl after chuckling a bit mentally at his strange laziness. "May I ask why you are here?", he inquired, fully focused on her, if she spoke softly again.

"Hi Shirayuki Kaede, please forgive my terrible rudeness concerning this one not standing up. I recently exhausted my self in training and haven't quite recovered yet." Tairu said in as formal a voice as possible. Ever since leaving the Hyuuga compound talking to people had become much easier for him. Tairu propped himself up with his left elbow and slowly stood up. When he was finally standing Tairu gave short bow of his head. "Once my apologies for not standing earlier." Tairu said to her. There's that hand shake from Kuro, he really is friendly I'll have to ask To-san about his family and see if they're nice people too.

LV. 1 | Experience: 0/100 | Hp: 8/8 | Cp: 1/1 | MHp: 10/10 The girl winced, when he touched her, immediately taking one step back when he was done shaking hands. Kaede gripped her hand with her other hand and held them both close to her thumping chest. The heat of her hand still lingered like a ghostly touch, as though they burned her skin. It was a burn different from the self-inflicted wounds on her hands or the sensation of chakra running through them. It wasn't painful, but rather pleasant, and the idea boggled her mind. And while it wasn't painful, it was just as uncomfortable, unfamiliar. Something she's never experienced before.
Unconsciously, she peered up at the boy through her bangs. Why was Kuro smiling? Was there something on her face? A pimple or grass stuck in her hair? She rubbed her face with her hands, feeling a few bumps on her chin and forehead, until she realized it was a smile of... friendliness It didn't seem like these two knew who her father was. Her shoulders relaxed, sensing that she was safe.
And as Tairu spoke to her, Kaede simply nodded at him, unsure of how to respond to his apology. That he was relaxing on the ground did not offend her one bit, not understanding what he did wrong. Why did he need to stand up? She never told him to. But the girl did not question him, or say anything about the apology.
She was always the one to apologize, and now... today had been a lot of firsts. First day at the academy, first smile, first time meeting nice people, first apology. The girl was glad she decided to become a shinobi. Masato Kurokawa and Hyuuga Tairu... she'd have to commit those names to memory. The girl found herself hoping that those two would be her classmates, hoping that the rest of her peers would be just as nice.
Kaede then remembered that was asked a question, "Um. Handseals... I-I... I need help."

Did she say hand seals, I think she did. Tairu still had a long way to go on his recovery. He looked at the Kimono that Kaede was wearing and decided that he would need to ask To-san (since I've been asked it means father) about her family as well. "Alright well I'm teaching them to Kuro right now so I can help you as well Kaede. Tairu said with a smile. It felt good to be helping people and Tairu was quite pleased that people other than his Okaasama (mother) accepted him for who he was. "So what do you need help with Kaede?" he asked her.

"Oh, you need help too huh?", Kuro said chuckling a bit. "Yea, me here as well! It just took me like a gajillion tries to get Tatsu down!", he concluded, shaking his fingers off a bit from a tiny bit of pain left. He took another moment to examine the girl. Obviously shy, like he can be sometimes, quiet, and obviously conscious about how she looked. Kuro wondered why she would be the way she is, with such a kind and hardworking father, but he dismissed the thought with another. People are always different from one another.
Kuro, after a second or two of dead silence, decided to lighten up the mood a bit, maybe with a little pep-talk. "I can get kind of complicated. But you gotta be confident!", Kuro concluded, looking over at Tairu. "The next is the Ox handseal correct?", he asked, having taken a peek at his scroll once or twice when it was open, and just having remember that one piece.
"Have you mastered the Ox handseal yet Kaede? If you have, would you like to help me?", he asked, trying to remember how the hands when from memory, which he was failing to do.

LV. 1 | Experience: 0/100 | Hp: 8/8 | Cp: 1/1 | MHp: 10/10 "Oh, don't worry Masato-san, I had trouble with the dragon seal too," is what she wanted to say, to reassure him that there was someone worse than he was at handseals. But Kaede could not find it in herself to tell him, words choked in her throat. She frowned in frustration, hating the socially awkward part of herself the most. Someday she'll tell him, if they're still on good terms by then.
At his invitation to showing him the ox seal, she briefly nodded. Though she knew the ox seal, she wasn't confident in herself to perform it without failing. The girl sat down in the grass, near the two boys, but kept her distance. She brushed her dirty hands on her kimono and pulled out the course syllabus scroll to double check the diagram. It was just how she thought it looked. Then, she looked down at her hands and carefully formed the seal, making sure her pinky didn't bend with her middle and ring fingers like the last time she failed. Her hands trembled, and she found herself looking nervously at Hyuuga-san for approval or judgement.

Then, when she was sure Masato-san knew what it looked like, she pulled her fingers quickly apart and glanced down at Hyuuga-san. She stiffened at his smile, foreign because it was welcoming, not out of laughter at her expense. "Um, Hyuuga-san, I'm not sure... h-how," she made gestures with her hands, unsure of how to form the words. Kaede wanted to say, 'position of thumbs' and 'serpent seal', but she wasn't sure if he would understand. Instead, Kaede decided to rolled up the scroll to the serpent seal and point at the picture. She sighed and hung her head, hoping he would get the message.

Tairu didn't have the best eyes in the Hyuuga clan, cleerly shown by his inability to use the Byakugan at whim and his poor efforts at seeking when he did the cloak of invisibility training Kuro. Tairu did still have the eyes of a Hyuuga though. As he looked at Kaede's frustration in her attempts to communicate with Tairu was brought back to his own frustrations with training by himself. Gazing down at the picture on the scroll Tairu got the message immeaditely. The Mi (serpent) hand seal diagram didn't show the thumbs. Tairu held up his hands, "The Mi hand seal is formed like this Kaede." Tairu then turned his body so that she could see his thumbs, "I'm sure that you can do it, just give it a try." Tairu said with a smile.

LV. 1 | Experience: 0/100 | Hp: 8/8 | Cp: 1/1 | MHp: 10/10 So that was what the serpent seal was supposed to look like.
Hyyuga-san's hands seemed so elegant compared to her short stubby fingers, the way they effortlessly formed the serpent seal. She wondered when she'll ever reach that level of skill. If at all.
Kaede nodded, slightly encouraged that a skilled fellow shinobi believed in her. Though it did not ease the pressure on her shoulders. Hyuuga-san believed she was capable of performing this seal. She mustn't disappoint his expectations. She mustn't give him a reason to look down on her, hate her for a simple handseal. That warm smile... she wanted to preserve it.
Handseals Formula: [1d20 + Int Mod. = (#)]. DC: 12 - 1 (from Tairu) = 11 Total Seals Learned: 6/12 Rewards: +1 Intelligence
She wove her hands, with the position of his thumbs in mind, double checking with Hyuuga-san's version, and looked back on her own.

Tairu smiled as he looked at Kaede's Mi hand seal. "Very Good Kaede, that's perfect!" Tairu told her. He then looked at the next picture in the scroll. Ne (rat), another difficult one to see. Tairu thought as he looked at the picture. He brought his hands together and wrapped one hand around two of the others finger. "This is the Ne hand seal Kaede, I know that you will be able to do this one." Tairu said confidently as he showed her how to form the Ne hand seal. Tairu was also feeling a little better now as he had regained about half of his normal chakra strength.

Handseals Formula: 11 (1d20) + 0 (int mod) = 11 (success). DC: 12 - 1 (from Tairu) = 11 Total Seals Learned: 7/12 Rewards: +1 Intelligence Her serpent handseal matched up with Hyuuga-san's handseal. Kaede stared at her hands, in deep concentration, as if trying to burn the feel and the position of their fingers in her mind. Then, when she was ready for the next seal, she let her hands flop back into her lap. The girl avidly looked up at her tutor, dark brown eyes narrowing on his hands. She wanted to look at his handseal at different angles, but didn't know how to convey this desire without it coming off as an order. And that would be disrespectful to Hyuuga-san. Not to mention just plain rude.
Instead, she moved her syllabus scroll onto Hyuuga-san's lap, careful not to come in contact him or his clothes, lest she dirty the noble with her touch. Then, Kaede picked herself off the ground, and crawled around him until she could see a different angle of his hands, noting the position of his index and middle finger.
When she was certain of the rat seal's form, Kaede closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. A drop of sweat trailed down her neck, from nervousness. There was pressure on her shoulders... her next attempt had to be perfect like the last handseal. It must. Hyuuga-san said she could do this. She reopened her eyes, filled with determination, and formed her interpretation of the rat seal. The girl looked down at the ground and waited for any corrections.

Tairu was simply astonished as he watched the speed at which Kaede learned the hand seals. This took me for ever to do by myself! The memory of his training still fresh as only a few hours had passed since Tairu had taught himself the seals. "Very good, you did a great job Kaede!" Tairu said with excitement for his new acquaintance. Tairu looked at the scroll for reference as to what the next hand seal was. The Uma (horse), this one is really simple. "Alright, next is the Uma hand seal Kaede and you form it like so." Tairu said as he demonstrated the hand seal. Tairu made his fingers fit in between each other and his index fingers touch at the tip. This is so much easier now that I've had practice.
